Seattle trims roster to 53 Sat. Seattle trims roster to 53 Sat. Updated 8/30/2008
Dalton Bell, QB SEA
News: Seattle made its final cuts on Saturday in order to get its roster down to the requisite 53 players it is allowed. Among those cut were: DB Jamar Adams, QB Dalton Bell, DT Kevin Brown, WR Michael Bumpus, DB Marquis Floyd, DB Kelin Johnson, FB David Kirtman, TE Joe Newton, LB Dallas Sartz, WR Trent Shelton and DE Nu'u Tafisi. Analysis: None of the aforementioned players have any Fantasy relevance at this time.
Wallace to start on Friday Wallace to start on Friday Updated 8/27/2008
Dalton Bell, QB SEA
News: Seattle No. 3 QB Charlie Frye did not practice on Wednesday because of a knee problem but will be available in Friday's preseason finale against the Raiders. Frye, however, will not start as backup Seneca Wallace gets the nod and No. 4 quarterback Dalton Bell will also play. Analysis: If something were to happen to Matt Hasselbeck in-season, Wallace could be called on to start for Seattle. However, he is a useless Fantasy option until that time arises. The other guys are just trying to earn a place on the roster as the No. 3 QB.
Packers sign slew of players Packers sign slew of players Updated 2/12/2008
Dalton Bell, QB CAR
News: The Green Bay Packers have signed QBs Jerry Babb and Dalton Bell, WRs Chris Francies and Johnny Quinn, LB Spencer Havner, DT Alfred Malone, DB Joe Porter and RB Corey White to reserve/futures contracts. Analysis: These guys will provide organizational depth this offseason and aren't likely to make the club's active roster on a weekly basis. Keep them all off Fantasy rosters for now.
Packers alter practice squad Packers alter practice squad Updated 9/19/2007
Dalton Bell, QB CAR
News: The Packers signed WR Onrea Jones to their practice squad and released QB Dalton Bell to make room for him. Analysis: Neither player is worth adding in Fantasy play at this point.
Packers add QB Bell to practice squad Packers add QB Bell to practice squad Updated 9/12/2007
Dalton Bell, QB CAR
News: The Green Bay Packers signed QB Dalton Bell to the practice squad and released TE Clark Harris and QB Paul Thompson from the practice squad, the team announced Tuesday. Analysis: With the Packers only carrying two QBs on their 53-man roster, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, Bell is now the third-string slinger. Like most third-string QBs, Bell has zero Fantasy value at this time. Green Bay play at the Giants in Week 2.
RB Shelton among Panthers' cuts RB Shelton among Panthers' cuts Updated 9/2/2007
Dalton Bell, QB CAR
News: On Saturday, the Panthers released veteran OT Kenyatta Walker and waived the following players: DE Dave Ball, OL D'Anthony Batiste, QB Dalton Bell, WR Taye Biddle, LB Phillipe Gardent, DT Gary Gibson, OT Bobby Harris, FB Steven Jackson, FB Billy Latsko, CB Christian Morton, FS Cam Newton, LB Mickey Pimentel, OT Rueben Riley, RB Eric Shelton, CB Derrick Strait, TE Chad Upshaw, OT Theodoric Watson, DB C.J. Wilson and WR Kevin Youngblood. Analysis: Shelton should resurface somewhere, possibly as a short-yardage/goal-line running back. Biddle is also someone who could show up on someone's WR depth chart. But ultimately, all of the above players should be considered unusable for Fantasy purposes until they find regular playing time with an NFL team.
