News: Arizona DB Michael Adams left in the third quarter of Week 10 against Philadelphia with a strained hamstring. Adams finished with five tackles, including one for a loss, before departing.
Analysis: Adams left early for the second consecutive week as he was hobbled last week against St. Louis. However, he did not miss any playing time and was back in the lineup Sunday. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status as a result of his latest injury.
News: Arizona DB Michael Adams left Sunday's game against St. Louis in the fourth quarter after he tackled WR Austin Pettis. Adams had four tackles on the day, two solo, in the contest.
Analysis: Adams has 17 tackles on the year for the Cardinals. This injury could be serious, but in terms of Fantasy value, Adams doesn't have much. Hopefully he's OK, but Fantasy owners in IDP formats can leave him on waivers.
News: Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said Friday that unless they have setbacks this week, he feels good about SS Adrian Wilson (torn biceps) and CB Mike Adams (knee surgery) playing in the season opener Sept. 11 vs. Carolina.
Analysis: Adams had arthroscopic knee surgery on Aug. 8, and the recovery time was said to be a few weeks. If he is on the field for Week 1, it will have been just over one month of rehab. He should be good to go, however the veteran is not a recommended Fantasy option even when healthy. Ignore Adams on Draft Day.
News: NFL.com reports Cardinals DB Michael Adams will have arthroscopic knee surgery Monday. He is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks.
Analysis: Adams had a career-high 52 tackles and two interceptions in 2010 with Arizona. With the departure of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, there is more playing time in the secondary for Adams. However, he will still compete with the likes of Greg Toler and the newly-signed Richard Marshall. Adams has marginal Fantasy appeal.
News: Arizona DB Michael Adams intercepted Denver QB Kyle Orton in the first quarter on Sunday and returned it 37 yards putting his team in scoring position. They would only manage a field goal. Adams finished with four tackles, three solo, in Week 14.
Analysis: Adams has 47 tackles and two interceptions on the year. He's also scored a touchdown for the Cardinals. Unfortunately he doesn't produce enough to be considered an option in Fantasy IDP leagues at this time. Continue to ignore him.
News: Arizona blew an opportunity late in the first half after Troy Smith's pass bounced off the hands of Vernon Davis and was intercepted by DB Michael Adams at the San Francisco 42. Derek Anderson threw three incompletions and the Cardinals punted. Adams finished the day with nine tackles, six solo, to go with his first pick of the year.
Analysis: Adams isn't owned in any Fantasy leagues for a reason. He has 36 tackles and four defended passes on the year. He can be ignored in all IDP leagues heading into Week 13.
News: Cardinals DB Michael Adams cashed in a fumble for a 30-yard touchdown in Week 9 at Minnesota. He finished the game with five tackles and was also credited with a pass defensed.
Analysis: Adams has just two games all season with as much as five tackles. He has no sacks and is not a reliable option in IDP formats even with the scoop-and-score in Week 9.
News: In the Cardinals' Week 13 win at home vs. the Vikings, notable defenders included LB Karlos Dansby (eight total tackles, interception), DL Calais Campbell (four total tackles, sack), DL Bert Berry (two solo tackles, two sacks) and DB Michael Adams (two total tackles, interception).
Analysis: Of these defenders, Dansby is a must-start in IDP play and Campbell is a good up-and-comer worth a look as a No. 2 DL. The Cardinals play at the 49ers in Week 14.
News: Cardinals signed DB Michael Adams before Week 13 at Philadelphia.
Analysis: Adams won't play a big enough role on defense to make a Fantasy impact. Leave him on waivers.
News: Veteran linebackers Brandon Moore, Matt Stewart, and Joe Tafoya were among the 22 players released by the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, as the team pared its roster to the 53-player maximum. Also cut on Saturday were cornerback Michael Adams, cornerback Travarous Bain, defensive end Jason Banks, running back Steve Baylark, offensive lineman Kelly Butler, offensive lineman Peter Clifford, defensive tackle Keilen Dykes, linebacker Chris Harrington, offensive lineman Jasper Harvey, safety Dennis Keyes, wide receiver Lance Long, offensive lineman Carlton Medder, tight end Brent Miller, cornerback DeMario Minter, quarterback Anthony Morelli, wide receiver Jamaica Rector, center Pat Ross, tight end Alex Shor and running back Chris Vincent.
Analysis: Notables among that group include Adams, who played in seven games with the Cardinals last season; Harrington, the team's sixth-round Draft choice out of Texas A&M this past April; and Rector, who appeared in two contests with the team a year ago. These players were not expected to get a lot of playing time this season and should not be owned in Fantasy.
News: The Arizona Cardinals cut DB Michael Adams and re-signed DE Bo Schobel on Tuesday.
Analysis: Neither of these players have any Fantasy value at this time.
News: The Arizona Cardinals placed cornerback Michael Adams on the active roster and released defensive end Bo Schobel on Saturday. Adams spent training camp with the Cardinals but was released in the final roster cut, then re-signed to the practice squad.
Analysis: Adams was an undrafted rookie free agent when he signed with the Cardinals in April. He attended Louisiana-Lafayette, where he had 40 tackles, one interception and one sack in 10 games last season. He is nothing more than roster depth at this time and can be ignored in Fantasy leagues.
News: Rookie linebacker Buster Davis was among 21 players cut Friday as the Arizona Cardinals reduced their roster to the 53-man limit. Other players released Friday were quarterbacks Shane Boyd and Lang Campbell; linebackers David Holloway and Pago Togafau; tight end Alex Shor; running back Steve Baylark; safety Brandon Keeler; defensive tackle Jonathan Lewis; cornerbacks Michael Adams, Darrell Hunter and Justin Wyatt; fullback Roshon Vercher; and wide receivers LeRon McCoy, Matt Trannon and Michael Spurlock.
Analysis: Most of these players have had little to no impact in their pro careers. Ignore them in all Fantasy formats at this time.
