Broncos announce Super Bowl inactives

(2/2/2014) The Broncos listed defensive tackle Sione Fua (calf), cornerback Quentin Jammer, tight end Joel Dreessen, running back Ronnie Hillman, guard Chris Kuper, offensive tackle Vinston Painter and quarterback Zac Dysert as inactive for the Super Bowl.

With Hillman inactive, rookie C.J. Anderson will serve as the No. 3 running back. Cornerback Marquice Cole replaces Jammer on the active roster.

(1/15/2014) John Fox said Wednesday the reason the Broncos signed cornerback Marquice Cole was that he was the best man for the job - never mind that he's a Patriots castoff and could prove valuable as a source of information when the teams clash Sunday in the AFC title game.

"He's in shape, he's fit," Fox said per the team website. "He was the best available guy for the position we needed."

Included are tight end Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm/hamstring), cornerback Kyle Arrington (groin), linebacker Brandon Spikes (knee), cornerback Aqib Talib (hip) and Kenbrell Thompkins (hip).

Also questionable are cornerback Marquice Cole (shin), safety Steve Gregory (finger), tight end Michael Hoomanawanui (knee) and tackle Will Svitek (ankle).

(9/1/2013) The Patriots claimed four players off waivers: offensive lineman Braxston Cave from Cleveland, guard Chris Barker and defensive tackle A.J. Francis from Miami, and linebacker Chris White from Detroit. New England released running back/kick returner Leon Washington and defensive back Marquice Cole.

In addition, New England signed linebackers Jeff Tarpinian and Ja'Gared Davis, safety Kanorris Davis, defensive back Justin Green and defensive lineman Marcus Forston.
