News: The Chiefs have signed ex-Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan. He's expected to start as an inside linebacker in their 3-4 scheme defense next to Derrick Johnson.
Analysis: Jordan is familiar with Andy Reid going back to their days in Philly. He's been in and out of the starting lineup with Reid and might only carry limited Fantasy value since his tackle production is unlikely to go through the roof.
News: Eagles linebacker Akeem Jordan left Week 3 against the Cardinals in the first half after aggravating his hamstring injury. He did not return and finished with zero tackles.
Analysis: Jordan has seven tackles through three games this season but has never been a huge option in Fantasy. Continue to ignore him in the majority of IDP formats, healthy or not.
News: Eagles coach Andy Reid announced Sunday linebacker Akeem Jordan has overtaken Brian Rolle as the team's starting weak-side linebacker.
Analysis: Jordan will still face competition from Rolle and Jamar Chaney for reps at weak-side linebacker, so he has low-end Fantasy appeal on Draft Day. It's probably best to see how Jordan plays at the beginning of the season before adding him in IDP formats.
News: Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters on Monday morning that LB Akeem Jordan suffered a slight tear in his labrum in Week 1 at St. Louis. He was removed from the game in the second quarter without registering a single tackle.
Analysis: Jordan is a backup middle linebacker these days for the Eagles. As a result, he does not figure to get enough playing time to factor in most IDP formats even when healthy.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan suffered a right shoulder injury in Week 1 against the Rams in St. Louis. He was removed from the gam e in the second quarter without registering a single tackle.
Analysis: Jordan is a backup middle linebacker these days for the Rams. As a result, he does not figure to get enough playing time to factor in most IDP formats even when healthy.
News: The Eagles signed LB Akeem Jordan to a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.
Analysis: Jordan has been a solid contributor for Philadelphia the last four years, but he heads into Week 1 as a backup middle linebacker. He needs to get back into the starting lineup and start contributing on a regular basis before he becomes a reliable Fantasy LB.
News: Philadelphia re-signed free agent LB Akeem Jordan on Saturday as the Eagles continue to make moves during a busy week of adding new players. Jordan, who has played the last four seasons with Philadelphia, has racked up 178 career tackles.
Analysis: Jordan had a down season last year and started just three games while recording just 16 tackles. The James Madison product was coming off a 71-tackle output when he started 10 games in 2009. He should remain untouched in all upcoming Fantasy IDP drafts.
News: Newly acquired linebacker Ernie Sims, who came in a trade with Detroit, ran with the first team at weakside linebacker for the Eagles in an April/May minicamp. Akeem Jordan worked in a backup role. Reid pointed out that Jordan "can play all three linebacker spots."
Analysis: Jordan was never a good source of stats to begin with, but if this keeps up he'll barely get anything. Keep him off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Eagles listed the following players as inactive for Week 13 at Atlanta: WR DeSean Jackson, RB P.J. Hill, RB Brian Westbrook, LB Akeem Jordan, WR Kevin Curtis and QB Kevin Kolb.
Analysis: Aside from Jackson and Westbrook, none of the players listed have any Fantasy appeal. Leave them on waivers until further notice.
News: Philadelphia has listed the following players as inactive for Week 12 against Washington: DB Geoffrey Pope, RB P.J. Hill, RB Brian Westbrook, LB Akeem Jordan and WR Kevin Curtis.
Analysis: Westbrook might have to miss a few more games with this injury, but his potential as a rusher and receiver in the Eagles offense makes him too valuable to cut in Fantasy. Keep him stashed. Curtis and Jordan have some very minor value in the deepest of leagues. The rest of the names above need not be owned at this time.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan (knee) has been ruled out of the team's Week 12 game against the Redskins.
Analysis: Jordan has some low-end appeal when healthy but should again be reserved in all formats for Week 12 in IDP formats.
News: The Eagles have declared the following players inactive for Week 11 at Chicago: RB P.J. Hill, RB Brian Westbrook, DB Quintin Demps, LB Akeem Jordan, WR Kevin Curtis, and QB Kevin Kolb.
Analysis: Westbrook and Curtis, the only Fantasy-viable players in this group, had already been declared out before this game, so you should have benched him in all formats earlier in the week. The rest of these guys have no Fantasy value.
News: For the second consecutive week, the Eagles will go with a different look at linebacker because of a knee injury to weakside starter Akeem Jordan. Coach Andy Reid ruled out Jordan for Sunday night's game at Chicago. Will Witherspoon will again start at weakside LB, and second-year man Joe Mays will start in the middle. Chris Gocong, who started in the middle in last week's loss to San Diego, will move back to his customary spot on the strong side. Rookie Moise Fokou, who started the past two games on the strong side, appears to be the odd man out. Additionally, CB Sheldon Brown is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury he suffered in San Diego. The veteran did limited work Thursday and Friday in practice. Reid said it will be a game-time decision as his secondary already deals with depth issues.
Analysis: Witherspoon is a solid Fantasy option this week with Mays a longshot sleeper if you're needy for a LB. Gocong and Brown can't be considered reliable Fantasy choices for Week 11. Jordan obviously shouldn't start, either.
News: Eagles QB Kevin Kolb, RB P.J. Hill, CB Jack Ikegwuonu, FS Quintin Demps, OLB Akeem Jordan and WR Kevin Curtis have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 10 game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Aside from Curtis, these players have little to no Fantasy value in standard formats.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan has been ruled out of the team's Week 10 game against the Chargers due to a knee injury.
Analysis: Jordan has 53 tackles, a sack and two interceptions on the season. Tracy White is expected to get more snaps in his place. When healthy, Jordan is a decent option in IDP formats.
News: The Eagles got some good play from several members on defense Sunday against Dallas. LB Akeem Jordan had seven tackles, LB Will Witherspoon had six tackles, DB Sean Jones had five tackles and a sack, DB Sheldon Brown had three tackles and an interception, DL Trent Cole had two tackles and a sack, DB Quintin Mikell had four tackles and DL Juqua Parker had two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Look for the Eagles to continue to play on defense in Week 10 at San Diego. Plan to start all your regular IDP options against the Chargers.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan (neck) has been listed as probable for the team's Week 6 game at Oakland after practicing in full on Thursday and Friday.
Analysis: Jordan is off to a solid start to the season with 24 total tackles, two interceptions and a sack. He is a solid low-end or bye week replacement option in IDP formats for Week 6.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan had five tackles (four solo) and one sack during a Week 1 win against the Panthers. Jordan also had an interception and pass defense.
Analysis: Jordan had his best season as a NFLer in 2008 when he recorded a career-high 61 tackles. But it took him three seasons to finally record his first sack and interception, and he got them in the same game. Jordan has moved into the starting lineup for Philly, but remains a low-end Fantasy LB until his breakout run.
News: Eagles LB Akeem Jordan had a team-high 11 tackles (10 solo) during a Week 17 win against the Cowboys. It was the first time all season he managed 10-plus tackles. Jordan has 61 tackles on the season.
Analysis: The second-year linebacker had his finest season in 2008 and it looks as though he could be developing into a nice option for the Eagles. However, until he can fill the stat sheet on a weekly basis, Jordan has minimal Fantasy value heading into 2009.
News: The Philadelphia Eagles cut LB Matt McCoy on Monday and promoted LB Akeem Jordan from the practice squad.
Analysis: Neither player has any Fantasy value.
