Phil Dawson nails four field goals

(9/28/2014) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson enjoyed a perfect day in the win over the Eagles. He drilled all four of his field-goal tries, including a 51-yarder, and converted two PATs for 14 points.

Dawson also made field goals from 29, 46 and 31 yards. He entered the game having made just 2 of 4 field goals.

Dawson plays the Chiefs in Week 5.

The 49ers are back in action Week 4 vs. Philadelphia.

Dawson made all four of his extra point attempts, but had trouble from a distance. Dawson had his only chance in the fourth quarter. He missed wide left from 37 yards out. 

Dawson will take on the Bears Week 2.

(1/5/2014) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson nailed a game-winning field goal for the second straight week, this time beating Green Bay with a 33-yarder at the buzzer. It was Dawson's third game-winner this season, and it made him 12 for 12 on fourth-quarter field goal tries.

Dawson hit 22- and 25-yard field goals in the first quarter and converted two PATs for an 11-point night. He'll visit the Panthers next Sunday in the divisional playoffs.

(12/29/2013) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson showed some late-game heroics with a 40-yard field goal as time expired to defeat to the Cardinals, 23-20, in Week 17. Dawson also added 27-yard kick in the first quarter and a 56-yard kick in the fourth quarter. He finished 3 of 4 in field goal attempts and added two extra points in the win.

Dawson finished the regular season 32 of 36 in field goal attempts, an 88.8 conversion rate.

(12/15/2013) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson extended his own franchise record to 24 consecutive field-goal conversions during a 33-14 win Week 15 at Tampa Bay. Dawson was a perfect 4 for 4 on field goals for a second straight week and has kicked multiple field goals in six straight games.

Dawson converted from 21, 35, 43 and 47 yards during the win. He added three extra points and finished with a season-high 15 points. Dawson has totaled at least 11 points in three straight games.

The 49ers are back in action Week 16 vs. Atlanta.

(12/8/2013) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson showed some late-game heroics during Sunday's win over the Seahawks in Week 14.

Dawson drilled field goals from 23, 48 and 52 yards in the opening half. He then stepped up with a 22-yard field goal with 31 seconds remaining in the game to clinch the win for San Francisco. He converted all four of his field goal attempts and added an extra point in a 19-17 victory.

Dawson hasn't missed a kick since 71-yard free-kick attempt in St. Louis in Week 4, breaking a franchise record with 20 consecutive field goals.

Dawson was 6 for 6 on PATs to finish with six points on the game. The 38-year-old has gone 9 for 12 on field goals this season. San Francisco has a bye Week 9 and returns Week 10 against Carolina.

(9/27/2013) 49ers kicker Phil Dawson had an interesting game in Week 4 against the Rams Thursday, despite accounting for just five points in a 35-11 win.

Dawson missed both of his field-goal attempts in the game, though you can hardly blame him for the latter. Dawson missed from 53 yards early in the first quarter, and then attempted a 71-yarder at the end of the first half, on a fair-catch free kick. 

Dawson made five extra-point attempts in the game. He is now just 3 for 6 on field-goal attempts on the season, having already surpassed his total for missed attempts from last season in just four games.

He had a 48-yard attempt go wide left with under two minutes remaining in the second quarter. Dawson rebounded with a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. He converted 2 of 3 field goal attempts and drilled four extra points in a 34-28 victory.

The 49ers will travel to Seattle for Week 2.
