News: The Dolphins have claimed ex-Eagles receiver Marvin McNutt off waiver. The second-year wideout was cut without making a catch last season.
Analysis: McNutt faces an uphill battle to make the roster. It's probably not a good idea to put him on Fantasy rosters.
News: The Eagles have waived second-year receiver Marvin McNutt.
Analysis: McNutt never caught a pass for the Eagles as a rookie, playing in only four games. He isn't expected to be a great Fantasy asset.
News: The Philadelphia Eagles have selected Iowa wide receiver Marvin McNutt with the first of their two picks in the sixth round of the NFL draft. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound McNutt had 82 catches for 1,315 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior.
Analysis: McNutt gives the Eagles a sizable receiver that could make an impact inside the red zone down the line. He might be able to deliver more consistently than Jason Avant could -- and he might bump Avant out of a job eventually. If he can improve his route running then he might develop into a 50-catch receiver who lands a lot of first downs. He's worth a late pick in dynasty/keeper leagues and a mid-round pick in rookie-only drafts.
