News: Buccaneers DL Brian Price was carted off the field in the second quarter of a Week 12 loss to the Titans with an ankle injury. Price was done for the game, as he walked out of the stadium on crutches. He made two tackles before exiting.
Analysis: Price has little value in Fantasy, so even if he can return in Week 13, he can be ignored in virtually all leagues.
News: Tampa Bay DL Brian Price did just about the only positive thing for the Buccaneers' defense in the Week 10 loss to Houston. Price recorded the only sack of QB Matt Schaub in the game. He finished with five tackles for the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Price recorded just his second sack of the season on Sunday. Price is not much of a stat-guy, so Fantasy owners should continue to avoid him in IDP formats.
News: The St. Petersburg Times reports that Bucs second-year DT Brian Price, who appeared to suffer a hamstring injury Week 1 against the Lions, actually left the game because of fatigue. However, because of the procedure Price had on the bad hammy in the offseason, he is expected to deal with the pain during the season.
Analysis: Price is said to be good to go, so we expect him back on the field sooner than later. Coach Raheem Morris told reporters on Monday that he is considered day to day, but we will know more on Wednesday when the team conducts an official practice. Price is not much of a stat-guy, so Fantasy owners should continue to avoid him in IDP formats.
News: Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris told reporters on Monday that DL Brian Price is considered "day to day." He left Week 1 against Detroit after suffering a minor hamstring injury.
Analysis: The Bucs hope Price can become a fixture at defensive tackle alongside Gerald McCoy, but until he becomes a reliable stat producer, then he has no Fantasy appeal in IDP leagues.
News: Bucs second-year DT Brian Price left the game with a hamstring injury in the third quarter and did not return. Price finished with two solo tackles.
Analysis: The Bucs hope Price can become a fixture at defensive tackle alongside Gerald McCoy, but until he becomes a reliable stat producer, then he has no Fantasy appeal in IDP leagues.
News: Bucs DT Brian Price, a second-round pick in 2010, is about a month away from full health after undergoing offseason hip surgery, coach Raheem Morris said Monday. Price has been practicing in a limited capacity and probably will not play in Thursday's preseason game vs. the Patriots. WDAE-AM speculates that Price is overweight.
Analysis: Price is a beefy defensive lineman who will slow down the run and not accumulate many stats. Fantasy owners shouldn't touch him.
News: Tampa Bay rookie DT Brian Price, a second-round pick, showed flashes of brilliance when he wasn't nursing a sore hamstring or getting put on IR after five games with an injured hip in 2010. Price had a screw inserted in his hip and is expected to be ready for training camp in 2011.
Analysis: Price has minimal Fantasy value heading into 2011. Keep an eye on his progress, but don't plan on drafting him in the majority of IDP leagues.
News: Buccaneers rookie DL Brian Price has been placed on season-ending IR with a pelvis injury.
Analysis: Price was expected to start for the Bucs this season but couldn't get healthy. Continue to ignore him in IDP Fantasy play for now.
News: Buccaneers rookie DT Brian Price will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Dolphins due to a strained hamstring, according to the Tampa Tribune.
Analysis: Price is expected to start for Tampa Bay this season but has been setback somewhat by a minor hamstring injury. He should see plenty of action for the Bucs in 2010 but don't count on him to produce enough stats to be considered a viable Fantasy option in IDP leagues.
News: The Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they have signed 2010 draft selection DT Brian Price to a four-year contract. Price was the first of the Buccaneers second-round selections (35th overall) in this year's NFL Draft. While playing for the UCLA Bruins, Price was named Pac-10 Conference Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year in 2009 and also earned All Pac-10 accolades in 2008 and 2009. In 35 games with 30 starts during his three-year career with the Bruins, he recorded 97 tackles with 12.5 sacks, 44.5 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, one interception and three passes defensed. His 44.5 tackles for loss ranked second in school history. "I'm glad my agent got the deal done, so now I can concentrate on having a great training camp. I'm looking forward to contributing to the Buccaneers' dominant defensive tradition," said Price.
Analysis: Price will be a good run-stuffer and space eater for the Bucs, but he has minimal Fantasy value this season. Ignore him in the majority of IDP leagues on Draft Day.
News: The Buccaneers added more help for a struggling defensive line when they selected UCLA DT Brian Price with the third pick in the second round of the NFL draft. Price was the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year at UCLA last season when he made 23 1/2 tackles for loss and had seven sacks in 2009. Bucs head coach Raheem Morris conjured up a thought from former Buccaneers defensive line coach Rod Marinelli when describing why he got Price, along with first-round pick DT Gerald McCoy: "He used to say, 'If we're playing our game up front, we can give everybody else behind us a pink slip and we can go to work and end this game ourselves. That's never been more true. You get those guys up front humming, and that makes your linebackers better. That makes your secondary better. That makes everybody better."
Analysis: The theory is right for Morris, and Price should be a quality contributor as his career goes on. However, stats typically aren't big for defensive tackles, so Price isn't worth owning in Fantasy play.
