News: The Redskins announced Sunday that they and the Cardinals reached an agreement to send RB Tim Hightower to Washington in exchange for DE Vonnie Holliday and a conditional late-round draft pick. Holliday had just 29 tackles in 15 games with the Redskins last year, though he notched 2 1/2 sacks in the process.
Analysis: The 35-year-old Holliday is not the player he was early n his career with Green Bay, but he still has the ability to get the the passer on compassion and pressure the passing game consistently. Still, his value in nearly non-existent from a Fantasy perspective. Holliday has low-end value in deeper IDP leagues, but he is not worth selecting on Draft Day with several more effective options available.
News: Washington DL Vonnie Holliday had one of his better games in the Week 15 33-30 loss at Dallas. Holliday managed his second full sack of the season and now has 2 1/2 on the year. He had five total stops in the Week 15 loss.
Analysis: Holliday has 2 1/2 sacks on the year and the five tackles were his most since notching that number back in Week 2 in an overtime game. Clearly, Holliday only has low-end Fantasy value in IDP leagues heading into Week 16 at the Jaguars.
News: The Redskins announced Monday that they have signed free agent DL Vonnie Holliday. He spent last season with the Broncos, where he played in all 16 games with three starts and registered 33 tackles, including five for loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Holliday, 34, has played in 167 career games with 144 starts in 12 seasons with four clubs. For his career, he has recorded 572 tackles, 60 sacks, two interceptions, 38 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles and 11 fumble recoveries.
Analysis: Holliday will be a reserve DL for the Redskins and has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on drafting him in the majority of IDP leagues this season.
News: Broncos DL Vonnie Holliday totaled two solo tackles and one sack during a Week 16 loss to the Eagles. He has five sacks on the season with three in his last four games.
Analysis: Holliday has really turned up the heat late in the season for Denver and is starting to look like the player in his prime with the Packers and Dolphins. Still, Holliday is more of a low-end Fantasy flier in deeper IDP formats.
News: Broncos LB D.J. Williams (eight tackles), LB Elvis Dumervil (five tackles, sack), LB Mario Haggan (four tackles, forced fumble) and DL Vonnie Holliday (two tackles, sack) led the way in a Week 13 rout of Kansas City.
Analysis: Williams and Dumervil are IDP Fantasy studs, while Holliday and Haggan have no Fantasy value at this time. Only start the first two in Week 14 at Indy.
News: Broncos DL Vonnie Holliday had three tackles and one sack during a Week 5 win against the Patriots. He also forced a fumble. Holliday has a sack in each of his last two games.
Analysis: Holliday might no longer be a starter or the player he once was, but he is a good situational pass rusher for the Broncos. Still, his numbers are a bit unreliable, so Holliday has marginal Fantasy appeal despite the two sacks.
News: The Broncos signed DL Vonnie Holliday on Saturday.
Analysis: Holliday should see plenty of action with Denver, but isn't worth owning in Fantasy play.
News: Defensive end Vonnie Holliday was released Monday after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins. At 33, Holliday was the Dolphins' second-oldest player. He started 15 games for the AFC East champions in 2008 and led the team's defensive linemen with 46 tackles. He was third on the team with 3.5 sacks. "These types of decisions are always difficult ones, especially with someone like Vonnie, who has been a role model both on the field and off it," general manager Jeff Ireland said in a statement. "He was one of our captains last year and was a proven leader, not just in his tenure with the Dolphins, but throughout his 11-year career."
Analysis: Holliday didn't post enough stats to be considered Fantasy worthy. He shouldn't be on Fantasy rosters even when he does sign with another team.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday (fumble recovery), DL Randy Stark (half a sack) and DL Reggie Torbor (half a sack) all made nice contributions in a Week 14 win over Buffalo in Toronto.
Analysis: Holliday has some minimal value in deeper IDP Fantasy leagues, but none of these guys should be starting in Week 15 vs. San Francisco.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday made 1 1/2 sacks in a Week 11 win over the Raiders and now has a sack in consecutive games.
Analysis: Holliday is a decent run-stuffing lineman, but he doesn't make enough plays to be worth using in IDP Fantasy play. Continue to ignore him in Week 12 vs. New England.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday picked up his first full sack of the season in Week 10 when he took down Seneca Wallace in a victory.
Analysis: Holliday is a decent run-stuffing lineman, but he doesn't make enough plays to be worth using in IDP Fantasy play.
News: Dolphins LB Channing Crowder led Miami with 10 tackles in a Week 7 loss to the Ravens. Also contributing were LB Akin Ayodele (seven tackles), DL Vonnie Holliday (seven tackles, half a sack) and DL Matt Roth (five tackles, half a sack).
Analysis: Crowder is emerging as a nice low-end starting LB in IDP leagues. Feel free to use him in Week 8 against the Bills.
News: Dolphins DB Yeremiah Bell led his team in tackles with six in a Week 5 win over San Diego. Also contributing were LB Akin Ayodele (five tackles), LB Joey Porter (two tackles, half a sack) and DL Vonnie Holliday (two tackles, half a sack).
Analysis: Bell and Porter are low-end options in IDP Fantasy leagues, while the other guys have zero Fantasy value. The Dolphins play at Houston in Week 6.
News: Miami DL Vonnie Holliday played on Saturday against the Chiefs and recorded two tackles and a sack.
Analysis: Holliday had 42 tackles with two sacks and one forced fumble in 12 games last season for Miami. He dealt with some minor injuries that prevented him from playing an entire season for a third straight year. Holliday is a starting defensive end for Miami, and can be a viable No. 2 or No. 3 Fantasy DL when he is healthy and on his game.
News:The Sports Xchange reports Dolphins DE Vonnie Holliday is still out with a strained hamstring in practice, but is expected to return to practice during the week of Aug. 18-24.
This injury is not considered serious.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday wasn't as productive in 2007 as he was in 2006. Holliday only played in 12 games due to injury and finished with two sacks, which was five less than 2006. He also added 42 tackles (33 solo) and had one forced fumble. Holliday split time playing defensive tackle and defensive end for Miami.
Analysis: Holliday is more of a stop-gap option for your Fantasy team. When he's getting sacks he's a solid DL, but most likely he will be more of a run-stuffer for the Dolphins. Consider Holliday a low-end DL in IDP leagues in 2008 and don't plan on drafting him in any leagues.
News: Dolphins DB Courtney Bryan (six tackles, fumble recovery), DB Lance Schulters (six tackles) and DL Vonnie Holliday (five tackles) all helped out with nice outings in Miami's 28-7 loss to the Patriots in Week 16.
Analysis: Holliday has some minimal value as a reserve DL in deeper IDP Fantasy leagues, but none of these players should be starting in Week 17 against the Bengals.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday had his second sack of the season Week 12 at Pittsburgh. He also picked up five tackles.
Analysis: He may have only played in seven games, but even in that time frame, two sacks doesn't make Holliday worth owning in Fantasy.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday and LB Zach Thomas returned to practice on Monday as Miami prepare for their Week 10 game with the Bills. Holliday had missed more than a month with a fractured ankle, while Thomas missed the trip to London in Week 8 with a whiplash injury.
Analysis: Both Holliday and Thomas could return to action on Sunday, but we won't find out more until Wednesday as the Dolphins are off on Tuesday. Holliday doesn't have any value in IDP leagues at this time, while Thomas is one of the best Fantasy LBs and should be back starting in all leagues if he's good to go in Week 10.
News: According to the Sun Sentinel, Dolphins LB Zach Thomas (neck) and DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle) have not been cleared to practice. The Dolphins are on a bye Week 9.
Analysis: Holliday has not played since fracturing his ankle Week 4 vs. Oakland. Holliday's ankle injury continues to linger and there is no telling when he will return at this juncture. Continue to track his progress in the coming weeks, but make sure to reserve him in all Fantasy formats. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy DL.
News: The Dolphins listed TE David Martin (groin), DB Travares Tillman (knee), LB Zach Thomas (neck), DL Anthony Bryant (coach's decision), DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle), DL Sam Rayburn (coach's decision) and DL Quentin Moses (coach's decision) as inactive for Week 8 vs. the Giants in London, England.
Analysis: Thomas is a must-start IDP option when healthy, but that's not the case right now. David Martin also has some low-end appeal as a No. 2 Fantasy tight end when healthy. Keep them and all of the players on this list reserved until further notice.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle) is out for Week 8 vs. N.Y. Giants. Holliday has 15 tackles and one sack in four games. He will have now missed the last four games.
Analysis: Holliday's ankle injury continues to linger and there is no telling when he will return at this juncture. Continue to track his progress in the coming weeks, but make sure to reserve him in all Fantasy formats for Week 8. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy DL.
News: For the Dolphins, RB Lorenzo Booker, DL Anthony Bryant, DL Vonnie Holliday, DL Jesse Mahelona, DL Rob Ninkovich, DL Sam Rayburn, DL Abraham Wright and DB Travares Tillman are inactive for Week 7. For the Patriots, LB Eric Alexander, DL Kareem Brown, third QB Matt Gutierrez, DB Mel Mitchell, RB Sammy Morris, TE Benjamin Watson and DL Mike Wright.
Analysis: Booker is inactive for a seventh straight week, despite working out with the wide receivers in practice this week. Morris and Watson are out as expected for the Patriots. None of these other players have any Fantasy value.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle) is out for Week 7 vs. New England. Holliday will now miss three straight games. He had 15 tackles and one sack in four games before getting injured.
Analysis: Holliday's ankle injury continues to linger and there is no telling when he will return at this juncture. Continue to track his progress in the coming weeks, but make sure to reserve him in all Fantasy formats for Week 7. When healthy, he is a low-end Fantasy DL.
News: For the Dolphins, QB Trent Green, RB Lorenzo Booker, SS Travares Tillman, LB Abraham Wright, WR Greg Camarillo, DT Vonnie Holliday, DE Rob Ninkovich and DT Sam Rayburn are all inactive, while for the Browns, DB Gary Baxter, RB Jamal Lewis, WR Travis Wilson, TE Darnell Dinkins, DT Louis Leonard and QB Ken Dorsey are also inactive.
Analysis: No surprises here, with Green, Holliday and Lewis -- the only players with any Fantasy value in this list -- already ruled out earlier in the week. Bench them all for Week 6.
News: The Dolphins have ruled DL Vonnie Holliday (ankle) out for Week 6 at Cleveland. He didn't practice all week and also missed Week 5's game at Houston.
Analysis: Holliday is a low-end Fantasy DL in IDP leagues, and we're sure not too many of you are eagerly awaiting his return. Obviously, keep him reserved in Week 6.
News: According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Dolphins DT Vonnie Holliday (ankle) is off crutches and in a walking boot and hopes to play in Week 6 vs. the Browns, although he has not yet been cleared to practice. "It is coming along pretty fast; it is just a week out and we have the cast off," Holliday said. "It's encouraging."
Analysis: Holliday is a low-end Fantasy DL in IDP leagues and we're sure not too many of you are eagerly awaiting his return. He is not worth considering for Week 6 as he likely won't be ready to return against the Browns.
News: Miami third QB John Beck, RB Lorenzo Booker, DB Travares Tillman (knee), DB Donovin Darius (calf), LB Channing Crowder (ankle), LB Abraham Wright, DT Vonnie Holliday (ankle) and DE Rob Ninkovich were all named inactive for the Dolphins' Week 5 game at Houston.
Analysis: Crowder is the only one in this list with any Fantasy value in most leagues. Booker did have value to start the season in deeper keeper leagues, but since he's been inactive for five straight games now to start his career, his future looks pretty bleak.
News: According to the Miami Herald, DT Vonnie Holliday has his right ankle in a cast after sustaining a fracture during Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Raiders. Holliday will miss at least one game -- and probably two. "He has had that injury before, and he said he is very positive that it will not be a long-term thing," coach Cam Cameron said. "He has been casted with a slight fracture."
Analysis: Holliday has limited value in IDP leagues, but his loss is just another blow to a Dolphins DST that is already at the bottom of the league in rushing yards allowed. They do face Houston in Week 5, who rank in the bottom 10 in rushing offense and might still be without WR Andre Johnson, so the Dolphins could still be worth a start this week.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday left Sunday's game against Oakland with an ankle sprain. He finished with no tackles.
Analysis: Holliday has minimal Fantasy value and should not be used in Week 5 at Houston. Continue to monitor his status and see how he does prior to setting your lineup.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday had five tackles Sunday against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Holliday is a low-end DL in IDP leagues for Week 3 against the Jets.
News: The Dolphins announced that DE Vonnie Holliday signed a four-year contract extension, keeping him with the club through 2010. Holliday had seven sacks and 66 tackles in 2006. "Not only has he been a major part of one of the league's top defensive units the last two years, but he also has been one of the key veteran leaders in the locker room," Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said in a statement. "In addition, it addresses one of our top offseason priorities, which is to retain our own players who have been productive members of the team. During our recent conversations, both Randy and I agreed that signing Vonnie was a high priority."
Analysis: Holliday wound up being a solid No. 2 Fantasy DL in 2006, but shouldn't be considered as such next season because he doesn't normally pick up 60-plus tackles in a season. At best, look at him as a No. 3 Fantasy DL worth a late-round pick in IDP leagues.
News: The Dolphins on Tuesday signed seven free agents for the 2007 season, although none of them is named Vonnie Holliday. The Dolphins and Holliday's representatives have had discussions on at least two occasions since the season ended. Holliday, who finished 2006 with seven sacks, is Miami's prized free agent this offseason. Unless the Dolphins and Holliday reach an agreement before March 2, the player will be free to sign with any other team.
Analysis: Expect Holliday to become a free agent. Depending on where he ends up, consider him a No. 2 DL.

LB Zach Thomas had seven tackles and a sack. DL Jason Taylor had one tackle. DL Keith Traylor had one tackle and a sack. DB Will Allen had no tackles.
Analysis: Consider the Dolphins and their IDP players a good start in Week 11 against Minnesota, which is a struggling offense right now.
News: The Dolphins defense played relatively strong in Week 6 against the Jets, but still could not keep the Jets out of the endzone and away from a win, losing 20-17. The Dolphins held the Jets to 272 yards, while forcing three fumbles (none which were recovered) and two sacks. DLs Jason Taylor and Vonnie Holliday got the sacks, while LB Channing Crowder led the team with 10 tackles.
Analysis: The Dolphins remain a decent No. 2 DST and a definite bye-week replacement DST. Taylor is a must-start DL in Fantasy leagues, while Holliday is a decent No. 2 or No. 3 DL. Crowder is also a decent reserve LB in the deepest of IDP leagues.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday had three tackles against New England.
Analysis: Holliday is worth using as a No. 3 DL in IDP leagues when the Dolphins play the Jets in Week 6.
News: Dolphins DL Vonnie Holliday had seven total tackles and two sacks in Week 5 at Houston.
Analysis: Holliday is having a nice season in Miami with 20 total tackles and two sacks. Consider him a No. 2 or No. 3 DL IDP option at this time. The Dolphins play the ball-control minded Patriots in Week 5.
News: Miami DL Vonnie Holliday wound up as a top-40 Fantasy DL, making six sacks, 37 solo tackles, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and five pass deflections in '05.
Analysis: Holliday is at best a reserve DL option in deep leagues.
News: Vonnie Holliday recorded five tackles (four tackles and one assist) and a sack in Week 16 vs. Tennessee. He also recovered a fumble.
Analysis: Despite the solid game, Holliday is not a consistent contributor in IDP leagues. Consider him a risky start for a championship game in Week 17.
News: Miami DE Vonnie Holliday had three sacks, a forced fumble and six total tackles at Oakland in Week 12.
Analysis: Holliday's performance deserves attention, but he only had one sack coming into the season. In deep IDP leagues, Holliday may warrant a reserve spot.

News: The Kansas City Chiefs have released Holliday.
