Sparano: Raiders WR Denarius Moore gets clean slate

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10/8/2014) Raiders interim head coach Tony Sparano said Wednesday that wide receiver Denarius Moore will get a clean slate with the coaching staff, NFL.com reports.

Moore was a healthy scratch in Week 4 and has a battle to emerge as an option in the passing game, as the team has added Kenbrell Thompkins and Vincent Brown to the position group. However, after spending much of his time in the doghouse since the beginning of the 2013 season, he'll have a chance to put the past behind him and move forward with a clean slate.

Moore caught 46 passes for 695 yards and five touchdowns last season but has managed just eight catches for 60 yards in 2014.

Denarius Moore can't make most of targets

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/21/2014) Raiders wide receiver Denarius Moore, who is still looking for his breakout game in 2014, got plenty of balls thrown his way Week 3 at New England, tying for the team lead with seven targets, but he pulled down only three of them for 23 yards. He had three catches for 29 yards against the Texans last week.

One of the misses was the play that decided the game. On first-and-goal from the 12-yard line, immediately after a Darren McFadden touchdown run was reversed by a holding penalty, Moore had a pass knocked out of his hands, off another defender and into the arms of a diving Vince Wilfork for an interception.

Moore will look to make more of an impact Week 4 against Miami.

In the final seven games last season, Holmes caught 25 passes for 431 yards and a touchdown. Moore caught four touchown passes in the first six weeks, just one after that. He has not exceeded 750 receiving yards in any of his first three seasons.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Moore caught one pass from Matt McGloin for 34 yards in the second quarter and another pass from Terrelle Pryor for a gain of 12 yards late in the fourth quarter. He caught all two of his targeted passes for 46 yards in a 56-31 defeat.
