News: Seahawks tight end Cameron Morrah, tight end Jameson Konz, defensive lineman Lazarius Levingston and defensive back Roy Lewis were waived/injured Sunday. Wide receiver Phil Bates, defensive back Donny Lisowski, defensive back Ron Parker and running back Tyrell Sutton were waived.
Analysis: None of these players were expected to make significant impacts in 2012 and can be left off all Fantasy rosters.
News: DT Lazarius Levingston was chosen off the practice squad by the Seahawks, following the release of DT Al Woods.
Analysis: Levingston was a seventh-round pick for the Seahawks this year out of LSU, but never made it to the active roster until now. Woods, who he will presumably replace, registered just two tackles in two games played for the Seahawks, so don't expect much production from Levingston either.
News: The Seahawks claimed some players off of waivers Sunday including DT Landon Cohen, DT Al Woods, K Steven Hauschka, and tackle Jarriel King. Released were K Jeff Reed, DT Junior Siavii, LB David Vobora and DT Pep Levingston.
Analysis: Siavii's fate comes as a bit of a surprise. He started six games last year and was a key reserve the rest of the season, accounting for 30 tackles. Otherwise, the players let go were run-of-the-mill options with minimal Fantasy value. Ignore each player until he makes an impact with another team.
News: The Seahawks have reached a deal with seventh-round pick DL Pep Levingston, according to a tweet from his agent. Levingston, despite his draft status, will get a chance to contribute. He is the only D-lineman drafted by Seattle, a team that is thin on its line heading into free agency.
Analysis: Levingston may have the chance to contribute early on, but he will have to prove it in training camp. Either way, it is unlikely that he will progress enough to warrant Fantasy value in IDP formats. Do not consider Levingston to be an option on Draft Day.
News: The Seahawks added much depth to their defense via the 2011 draft when they picked Mississippi State LB K.J. Wright (Round 4), Stanford CB Richard Sherman (Round 5), Appalachian State safety Mark LeGree (Round 5), Clemson CB Byron Maxwell (Round 6), LSU DE Lazarius Levingston (Round 7) and USC LB Malcolm Smith (Round 7).
Analysis: Of these players, Wright and Legree have the best shot at playing sooner than later, though both are behind first-round picks on the depth chart. Both Wright and Legree are worth late-round fliers in the deepest of dynasty/keeper leagues and rookie-only drafts.
