Misi sentenced in battery incident

News: The Palm Beach Post reports that Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi, entering his fourth NFL season, was involved in a fight in Southern California in April 2011 in which he punched through a man’s front door and hit him in the face, breaking the orbital bone in his eye socket. It took local authorities nearly a year to charge him with felony battery, as they did last March. And it took nearly another year for the case to be resolved, as it was Thursday. According to the Santa Barbara Independent, Misi received 400 hours of community service and must take 12 anger management classes in exchange for having the felony charge dropped to a misdemeanor. Misi also paid restitution up front — $42,000 for hospital bills and property damage. The judge was willing to drop the charge to a misdemeanor because Misi does not have a criminal history, although it is unclear if Misi will be subject to any discipline from the NFL office for violating the league’s player conduct policy.
Analysis: Misi started a career-high 14 games at outside linebacker in 2012, his third NFL season, and responded with 50 tackles, 3.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. He has minimal Fantasy value in IDP leagues and should not be drafted in most formats.

Misi collects 1.5 sacks

News: Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi was credited with 1.5 sacks in Week 4 against the Cardinals. Misi also was had a pass defended and tackle for a loss in the 24-21 loss and finished with four total tackles. He now has 26 stops on the year.
Analysis: Misi has been very inconsistent for the Dolphins this season, which has been the knock on him over his entire career. Despite his 1.5 sack performance in Arizona, the 25-year-old cannot usually be counted on as a decent source for sacks. Consider him merely a low-end option in deeper IDP formats heading into Week 5.

Misi leads Miami in tackles

News: Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi registered a team-high 11 tackles (10 solo) during Sunday's regular season opener against the Texans. He also had one tackle for loss in a 30-10 defeat.
Analysis: Misi appears to be in midseason form for the Dolphins, but unfortunately with big-time players on defense, it could be a bad sign for Miami that he's leading the team in tackles. Misi recorded just one sack lasts season and is considered a low-end Fantasy IDP option heading into Week 2 against the Raiders.

Misi moved to injured reserve

News: Miami placed LB Koa Misi on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday with a shoulder injury. The Dolphins promoted QB Pat Devlin from the practice squad to take Misi's spot on the active roster.
Analysis: Misi totaled 34 tackles and one sack this season as the Dolphins' starting strong side linebacker. He now has 5 1/2 sacks in his two-year career. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers in all formats for the remainder of the season.

Misi notches another sack

News: Dolphins LB Koa Misi sacked QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Week 15 game against the Bills. He added two tackles for a loss on the day.
Analysis: Misi -- the rookie out of Utah -- now stands at 4 1/2 sacks in his first season off of the edge in the 'Phins 3-4 scheme. He provides a decent amount of tackles and the occasional sack, so Misi remains a low-end Fantasy value.

Misi picks up another sack

News: Dolphins LB Koa Misi recorded his second sack in as many games and third of the season Week 6 at Green Bay, finishing with three solo tackles.
Analysis: Misi doesn't get many tackles for a linebacker, but if you play in a league that heavily rewards sacks, he's worth a look off the waiver wire. He's just a low-end option in most Fantasy IDP formats.

Misi scores in second NFL game

News: With under 6:30 to play in the third quarter, Dolphins LB Cameron Wake beat Visanthe Shiancoe and tackle Phil Loadholt around the right end and knocked the ball out of Brett Favre's hand just as he was cutting it loose while in his own end zone. Rookie LB Koa Misi pounced on the ball in the end zone, giving Miami a score. Misi also had two total tackles.
Analysis: Misi had a sack last week at Buffalo and was johnny-on-the-spot against the Vikings in Week 2. He's worth adding off waivers in deeper leagues even though his tackling totals leave a lot to be desired.

Misi gets sack in debut

News: Dolphins rookie LB Koa Misi didn't start Miami's Week 1 win over Buffalo, but he ended up making two tackles including a sack in his NFL debut.
Analysis: Misi didn't earn himself a starting spot this preseason but could well find himself seeing plenty of playing time regardless if he continues to pressure the QB. Misi remains a wait-and-see IDP Fantasy option for now heading into Week 2 at Minnesota.

Misi loses job with first team

News: The Miami defense might change at SLB with Ikaika Alama-Francis replacing rookie Koa Misi, who has had trouble holding the corner on run plays. Alama-Francis worked with the first team Sunday.
Analysis: The rookie Misi was expected to have a chance to play right away but looks like he hasn't been able to handle starting duty. He isn't worth drafting in Fantasy IDP leagues and is low-end in rookie drafts among IDP players.

Dolphins draft LB Misi

News: The Dolphins drafted DE/LB Koa Misi in the second round of the NFL Draft at No. 40 overall. Misi is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound outside LB/pass rusher from Utah. He will compete for playing time to replace the departed Joey Porter (Arizona) and Jason Taylor (Jets) opposite Cameron Wake.
Analysis: Misi will have a chance to play right away, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on drafting Misi in the majority of IDP leagues this year.
