Molden lands with G-Men

News: Former Patriots cornerback Antwaun Molden has agreed to terms with the Giants, ESPN reports. Molden appeared in every game for New England in 2011 and took 25 snaps in the Super Bowl against New York, Reiss wrote. Molden adds depth at CB after the loss of free agent CB Aaron Ross.
Analysis: We doubt Molden will play enough to produce big Fantasy stats. Leave him off of rosters.

Molden records first INT

News: Patriots DB Antwaun Molden recorded the first interception of his career in Week 12 against the Eagles. He picked off QB Vince Young in the second quarter and finished with four tackles in the 38-20 win.
Analysis: Molden has been playing more due to the fact that the Patriots have been decimated by injuries in the secondary and is having a career campaign. But since his stats are not that impressive, continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy IDP formats.

Molden lands with Patriots

News: The Patriots claimed DB Antwaun Molden off waivers on Thurday. He had been waived by the Texans.
Analysis: Molden is still not assured of a final roster spot. Even if he does make the team, he would likely serve mostly as a reserve and is not worth owning in Fantasy.

Molden hooked by Pats

News: The Boston Herald reports that the Patriots claimed CB Antwaun Molden off of waivers Wednesday. He was released by the Texans on Tuesday.
Analysis: Molden, a former third-round draft pick, has played in 32 NFL games although he has never started a contest. As most player picked-up at this time of year, he has a slim chance of making the final 53-man roster because he has to play catch up, but he would not be a recommended Fantasy option even if he did. Ignore Molden across the board.

Texans cut down roster

News: The Texans waived CB Antwaun Molden, S Antonio Baker, P Brett Hartmann, S Maurice Rolle, CB Jason Teague. The club also waived-injured LB Matt Marcorelle, G Darius Morris and WR Paul Williams.
Analysis: None of these players were expected to make a huge Fantasy impact in 2011, so continue to leave them off rosters.

Texas list Monday night inactives

News: Houston has listed the following players as being inactive for Week 11 against the Titans: QB Dan Orlovsky (3QB), WR Jacoby Jones, CB Antwaun Molden, CB Fred Bennett, S Dominique Barber, DE Tim Jamison and DT Frank Okam.
Analysis: Jones caught four passes for 67 yards in Week 9 at Indianapolis before the bye week and has three touchdowns on the season but holds very low-end Fantasy value at the moment. Reserve him for Week 11. The rest of the players listed above have almost zero Fantasy value and need not be owned at this time.

News: The Texans listed the following players as inactive for Week 6 against Cincinnati: QB Dan Orlovsky, WR Glenn Martinez, DB Nick Ferguson, DB Anwaun Molden, DL DelJuan Robinson, TE Anthony Hill and DL Shaun Cody.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are expected to have any Fantasy appeal this season. Leave them on the waiver wire in all leagues.

Texans list inactives for Week 5

News: The Texans' list of inactives for Week 5 at Arizona includes DB Antwaun Molden, DL DelJuan Robinson, WR Glenn Martinez, DB Nick Ferguson, TE Anthony Hill, DL Frank Okam and QB Dan Orlovsky.
Analysis: None of these players contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy even when active. Leave them all on waivers.

Texans list Week 4 inactives

News: The Texans listed the following players as inactive for Week 4 vs. Oakland: QB Dan Orlovsky, WR Glenn Martinez, DB Eugene Wilson, DB Antwaun Molden, DB Jacques Reeves, TE Anthony Hill and DL Frank Okam.
Analysis: None of the players listed are expected to have any real Fantasy value any time soon. Leave them on waivers until further notice.

Two Texans DBs out Week 4

News: Texans DB Antwaun Molden (quadricep) and DB Jacques Reeves (finger) have been ruled out for Week 4 vs. Oakland. Neither player practiced this week.
Analysis: Reeves is a starting corner for the Texans when healthy, but has yet to play this season. He has low-end Fantasy appeal when healthy. Molden is more of a backup and has no Fantasy appeal when healthy.

Texans list Week 3 inactives

News: Texans inactives for Week 3's game against the Jaguars include WR Andre Davis, TE Anthony Hill, CB Antwaun Molden, S Bernard Pollard, CB Jacques Reeves, C Antoine Caldwell, DT Frank Okam.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value and can continue to be ignored in all formats.

Molden won't return for Week 3

News: Texans DB Antwaun Molden (quadricep) has been ruled out for Week 3 vs. Jacksonville. He did not practice all week. Molden will miss a second straight game.
Analysis: Molden is merely a reserve defensive back for the Texans and doesn't rack up a lot of stats. For that, he has little to no Fantasy value when healthy.

Texans declare Week 2 inactives

News: The Texans have announced their inactives for Week 2 at Tennessee. Out are WRs Andre Davis and Kevin Walter, DB Antwaun Molden, DB Jacques Reeves and DL Shaun Cody.
Analysis: Walter is the big name among this group, but with his hamstring injury and the expected wet conditions in Tennessee, he isn't a huge surprise inactive. Davis can have some low-end Fantasy value when healthy, but was declared out earlier in the week. The other guys all have zero Fantasy value.

Molden to sit out Week 2

News: Houston DB Antwaun Molden is not going to play on Sunday in Week 2's game at Tennessee with a quadricep injury.
Analysis: Molden is a low-end member of the Texans' secondary, and is not expected to be a major Fantasy factor at any point. Keep him off of IDP rosters for now, especially while injured.

Molden makes 2 tackles Monday

News: Houston DB Antwaun Molden (ankle) was able to play in Monday's preseason loss to the Vikings. Molden made 2 tackles in the game.
Analysis: Molden will boost the depth of the Texans' secondary, but he's not expected to be a major Fantasy factor. Keep him off of IDP rosters for now.

Molden returning for Texans

News: Houston cornerback Antwaun Molden is ready to get back into a game after sitting out since December recovering from a broken ankle. It's a good thing, too. With Jacques Reeves out with a broken leg and Dunta Robinson still holding out, the Texans need all the help they can get at the position. Molden, who missed the first part of training camp finishing his recovery, is expected to play his first game since Dec. 14 when Houston hosts the Vikings on Monday night. "Anytime I step on the field it's an opportunity for me to get better and to help this team," he said. "I'm put in that position and that's what I'm looking forward to doing."
Analysis: Molden will boost the depth of the Texans' secondary, but he's not expected to be a major Fantasy factor. Keep him off of IDP rosters for now.

CB Molden has broken ankle

News: Texans CB Antwaun Molden broke his ankle in Week 15 vs. the Titans and will miss the last two games.
Analysis: Molden wasn't productive enough to warrant Fantasy use in the first place.

Molden gets extra time to heal

News: The Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans game was rescheduled to Nov. 9 after Reliant Stadium was severely damaged by Hurricane Ike, meaning both teams will not play in Week 2. The new date also affects the Cincinnati Bengals' schedule. Houston was originally scheduled to play the Bengals on Nov. 9. Now, those teams will play on Oct. 26 and Cincinnati will take its bye week on Nov. 9, when the Texans now play the Ravens.
Analysis: It's all a little confusing, but basically Fantasy owners need to treat Week 2 as a bye week for the Texans and Ravens. So if you have any players active from either team, get them reserved immediately. Houston and Baltimore will not have another bye week the rest of the way. The Texans will next play at Tennessee in Week 3, giving Antwaun Molden extra time to heal. He had been listed as questionable for Week 2, so there's a silver lining here for him.

Texas sign 3rd round pick Molden

News: According to the official team site, the Texans announced Tuesday that they have signed their two third-round draft picks, cornerback Antwaun Molden and running back Steve Slaton, and fifth-round defensive tackle Frank Okam.
Analysis: Molden (6-1, 198) was the 79th selection in the 2008 NFL Draft from Eastern Kentucky. As a senior in 2007, Molden finished fifth on the team with a career-high 72 tackles (43 solos), 2.5 tackles for loss, nine passes defensed, a fumble recovery and two interceptions. He has impressed coaches with speed and instincts and could see immediate playing time because starter Dunta Robinson is working to come back from knee and hamstring injuries. Still, he's probably not worth a draft pick in Fantasy in individual defensive player leagues.
