News: The Vikings signed fullback Jerome Felton on Tuesday. The 25-year-old Felton spent his first three seasons with the Lions, then played nine games for the Panthers last season before being cut, only to sign with and appear in the final five games for Indianapolis.
Analysis: Felton joins a suddenly crowded backfield with fellow big backs Ryan D'Imperio, Matt Asiata and Lex Hilliard. They'll all battle for spots on the depth chart behind Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart. Keep Felton off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Colts claimed RB Jerome Felton off waivers from Carolina Monday afternoon. Felton, 6-0, 246 pounds, is in his fourth NFL season after originally being selected by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.
Analysis: Felton will likely just provide depth for the Colts going forward so continue to ignore him in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Carolina released RB Jerome Felton on Friday after adding WR Darvin Adams to the active roster. Adams and Panthers QB Cam Newton were teammates in college at Auburn. Felton had three carries for 10 yards and caught two passes for 24 yards.
Analysis: Felton was claimed off waivers from Detroit during the preseason and played in nine games with one start. He is not expected to make a Fantasy impact this season and should be left on waivers in all formats.
News: One day after being cut by the Lions, veteran FB Jerome Felton was brought on by the Panthers on Wednesday. He was claimed by three teams but Carolina was the top priority because of their dismal 2010 campaign, according to FoxSports.com. Felton played in all 16 games last season with Detroit, notching 22 carries for 76 yards to go along with eight receptions for 54 yards in the campaign.
Analysis: Felton provided a shot-yardage solution for the Lions over the last three years, but he offered little else. For Fantasy owners, the beneficiary -- if any -- is RBs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Felton should be blocking for them plenty if he makes the final 53-man roster, but as an individual he offers little. Ignore the Furman product in Fantasy play.
News: The Lions have released veteran FB Jerome Felton, NFL Network reports. Poor preseason game performances by RB Jerome Harrison made it seem unlikely hed unseat Felton's quality pass protection skills on the roster. Harrison's job was likely saved by the injury uncertainty surrounding RBs Jahvid Best and Maurice Morris.
Analysis: Felton was a deep, deep sleeper for Fantasy owners. He shouldn't be missed by anyone -- except perhaps the Lions when they're in a short-yardage situation.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton struggled in Week 11 at Dallas. Felton had four carries for 14 yards and lost a fumble.
Analysis: Felton has minimal Fantasy value. Don't plan on using him in Week 12 against New England on Thanksgiving Day.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton got his usual allotment of touches Week 10 at Buffalo, carrying the ball once for 4 yards and catching a 19-yard pass.
Analysis: Felton usually gets only one or two touches per game. He's more of a blocker than anything else, making him not worth using in Fantasy.
News: Lions FB Jerome Felton totaled one carry for 6 yards in Week 4 against the Packers. He also had two catches for 12 yards. He has five carries for 18 yards and three catches for 17 yards in 2010.
Analysis: Felton is the Lions' No. 1 fullback. He might get a few touches per week, but he won't factor that much for Fantasy owners. He is more important to his real team than in Fantasy. Ignore him as the Lions play the Rams in Week 5.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton had two carries for 7 yards Sunday at the Bears. Felton was used as a reserve RB behind Jahvid Best with Kevin Smith inactive for this game.
Analysis: Felton has minimal Fantasy value in all leagues. Ignore him in Week 2 against the Eagles.
News: As if the Lions' running back situation wasn't tough to figure out already, a report on MLive.com says the team is considering Jerome Felton as a physical inside rusher and not necessarily as a fullback. That might mean he'll work in short yardage and at the goal line. Felton was a bullying back in college and has experience finding the end zone -- he scored 63 touchdowns in his collegiate career at Furman.
Analysis: Felton has yet to score a regular-season NFL touchdown, so we're not convinced he's earned this role. Nevertheless, he's a guy to watch this summer since he could factor into the Lions' run game. For now he's not worth drafting.
News: Lions FB Jerome Felton made three catches for 37 yards in a Week 17 loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Felton is not a relevant Fantasy option and can continue to be ignored in 2010 drafts.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton made one carry for 1 yard on Sunday in a Week 16 loss at San Francisco. He also caught a pass that was good for 2 yards.
Analysis: Felton is not a relevant Fantasy option and can continue to be ignored Week 17 at San Francisco.
News: In the Lions' Week 15 loss vs. the Cardinals, RB Jerome Felton rushed for 12 yards on four carries.

News: Lions WR Calvin Johnson, DL Jason Hunter, RB Jerome Felton, DB Anthony Henry, DB Marvin White, QB Drew Stanton were all listed as inactive for the team's Week 8 game against the Rams.
Analysis: Johnson is the only relevant name on this list. The rest of these players have little to no Fantasy value.
News: Detroit RB Jerome Felton got two touches on Sunday in the team's Week 6 loss at Green Bay. Felton got one carry that went for 4 yards and one reception that also went for 4 yards.
Analysis: Felton does not get more than three or four touches in a given week, giving him extremely limited appeal in Fantasy. The is not a recommended option for the team's Week 8 game against the Rams.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton rushed once for eight yards in Week 5 against Pittsburgh. He alsoc aught three passes for 37 yards.
Analysis: Felton was used a few times as a dump off receiver out of the backfield, but that was pretty much it. Felton has been used the same way the last couple of weeks, but it's not enough to make him useful in Fantasy leagues.
News: Lions FB Jerome Felton had two carries for 12 yards and three catches for 23 yards Sunday at Chicago.
Analysis: Felton will get a few touches here or there for the Lions, but he has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in Week 5 against the Steelers.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton got four carries for 5 yards in Week 3's win over the Redskins. He has six carries on the year for 9 yards.
Analysis: Felton is the Lions' starting fullback, but he is primarily on the field for his blocking. He will get a couple of touches per game but it will not be enough to matter in Fantasy. It's safe to ignore him heading into Week 4 at Chicago.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton had one catch for 21 yards during a Week 2 loss to the Vikings. However, he did not get a carry in the game.
Analysis: Felton is the Lions' starting fullback, but he is primarily on the field for his blocking. He will get a couple of touches per game but it will not be enough to matter in Fantasy. It's safe to ignore him heading into Week 3 against the Redskins.
News: Lions RB Aaron Brown carried once for nine yards in Week 1 at New Orleans. Jerome Felton carried twice for a total of four yards.
Analysis: Kevin Smith remains the team's primary running back and we don't recommend owning Brown or Felton in any league at the moment. Leave them both on the waiver wire.
News: The Lions are looking for their starting FB between Terrelle Smith and Jerome Felton. But mlive.com reports that Smith could have the inside edge because he's accustomed to not carrying the football and the new coaching staff isn't likely to give it to him. Smith, who is entering his 10th NFL season, is the ultimate blocking fullback. In his rookie season of 2000 with the New Orleans Saints, Smith carried the ball 29 times. In the eight years that followed, Smith has carried the ball a total of 29 times. Last year with the Arizona Cardinals, Smith got a carry in the first preseason game and then didn't carry the ball once in the regular season - he played in 15 games (and started six). Smith didn't get a carry in four playoff games, including starts in the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.
Analysis: After gaining 131 yards during his rookie year, Smith hasn't gained more than 14 yards in any single season. He does have a career total of 67 receptions out of the backfield, but Smith is going to be used for his blocking. Ignore him in all leagues.

Analysis: Felton doesn't often enough post stats to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers for Week 17 at Green Bay.
News: Lions RB Aveion Cason, RB Moran Norris, RB Jerome Felton, WR Adam Jennings, TE John Owens and QB Drew Stanton didn't record offensive statistics Week 15 at Indianapolis.

News: Detroit RB Jerome Felton caught two passes for 17 yards in Week 14's loss the Vikings.
Analysis: Felton came in with four catches on the season and doesn't often enough post stats to matter in Week 15 at Indianapolis.
News: The following players were active for the Lions' Week 13's loss to the Titans but did not record any stats in the game: FB Moran Norris, RB Rudi Johnson, FB Jerome Felton and WR Adam Jennings.
Analysis: Fantasy owners already knew that Norris, Felton and Jennings weren't worthwhile Fantasy options, but seeing Rudi Johnson on a list like this is a sobering statement about how the mighty fall in Fantasy Football. Do not expect Johnson to be productive for much of the remainder of the season, and the same can be said for the other players on this list. The Lions host the Vikings in Week 14.
News: Lions WR Adam Jennings, TE Michael Gaines and FB Jerome Felton all dressed for Detroit's Week 12 loss to Tampa Bay but failed to record an offensive statistic.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value, so continue to ignore them in all formats for Week 13 vs. New Orleans.
News: The Lions have listed the following players as inactive for Week 11 at Carolina: DB Keith Smith, DB Dwight Smith, RB Jerome Felton, WR Mike Furrey, DL Jared DeVries and DL Dewayne White.
Analysis: Furrey has some low-end value in some deeper Fantasy leagues, but he should remain on waivers in most. The rest of the aforementioned players should be left off Fantasy rosters and have no value at this time.
News: The Detroit Lions have listed the inactives for their Week 10 game vs. Jacksonville. Not in uniform will be: QB Dan Orlovsky (hand), WR Reggie Ball (coach's decision), DB Dwight Smith (foot), FB Jerome Felton (ankle), FB Casey Fitzsimmons (ribs), DT Andre Fluellen (coach's decision) and DE Landon Cohen (coach's decision).
Analysis: Orlovsky had some Fantasy value before getting hurt, but should basically be dropped in all leagues now. Daunte Culpepper will start in his place. None of these other guys have any Fantasy value.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton (ankle), TE Casey Fitzsimmons (ribs) and DB Dwight Smith (foot) have all been ruled out for Week 10 vs. Jacksonville.
Analysis: Smith is the only player that really sees significant PT when healthy, but he even produces too little of stats to matter in Fantasy. Make sure to keep all three of these players reserved Week 10.
News: Lions LB Jordon Dizon (hamstring), RB Jerome Felton (ankle) and DB Dwight Smith (foot) have all been ruled out for Week 9 at Chicago.
Analysis: All three of these players are more important to the Lions than Fantasy owners. It's safe to keep them reserved Week 9 and can probably be left off most IDP rosters when active.
News: Lions coach Rod Marinelli said Monday that FB Jerome Felton would probably miss Week 9 at Chicago after sustaining a high-ankle sprain against the Redskins in Week 8.
Analysis: As a fullback, Felton mainly blocks and doesn't do enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers in all leagues.
News: Detroit fullback Jerome Felton did not pick up any offensive stats on Sunday against the Redskins and left the game in the fourth quarter with an injury to his leg. Felton was carted off the sideline and sent into the locker room. He did not return to the field.

Analysis: None of these players, including Furrey and McDonald, are worth owning in Fantasy play. The Lions play at the Vikings in Week 6.
News: The following Lions players did not record an offensive statistic in Week 3 at San Francisco: RB Jerome Felton, WR Brandon Middleton, RB Marcus Thomas and TE John Owens.
Analysis: None of the players on this list are going to be in line for considerable playing time anytime soon. Leave them on the waiver wire in all Fantasy leagues until further notice. They've got some depth chart climbing to do.
News: Lions RB Jerome Felton had one catch for 3 yards Sunday against Green Bay.
Analysis: Felton is a low-end Fantasy option and should not be used in Week 3 at San Francisco.
News: Detroit FB Jerome Felton started against the Falcons on Week 1 Sunday. Felton, however, was nothing more than a blocking back as he didn't record a touch or stat.
Analysis: This is how Felton will always be used and will rarely touch the football. That makes him someone to avoid in Fantasy because blocks don't count.
News: The Lions addressed several needs in the 2008 NFL Draft, starting in the second round at LB with Jordon Dizon from Colorado. They also drafted DT Andre Fluellen from Florida State in the third round, LB Cliff Avril from Purdue in the third round, WR Kenneth Moore from Wake Forest in the fifth round, FB Jerome Felton from Furman in the fifth round, DT Landon Cohen from Ohio in the seventh round and DB Caleb Campbell from Army in the seventh round.
Analysis: Dizon will compete for a starting spot right away and is a decent LB in IDP leagues because of his potential to play. Fluellen is a space eater and has minimal Fantasy value. Avril also is a decent IDP option but should go undrafted. Moore and Felton will probably play on special teams, and Cohen and Campbell have no Fantasy value at this time.
