Vikings' Cordarrelle Patterson gets the green light

(12/14/2014) Vikings wideout Cordarrelle Patterson got the green light Week 15 against the Lions.

Patterson entered the contest listed as questionable due to a hamstring injury. He was not listed on the injury report on Wednesday or Thursday, but was limited in practice on Friday due to the issue. He'll attempt to play through it against Detroit.

The team will also have Jerome Felton, Everson Griffen, Jabari Price and Harrison Smith. All four players were listed as probable heading into the game. 


Cordarrelle Patterson only questionable player on Vikings injury report

(12/12/2014) The Vikings have ruled safety Robert Blanton (ankle, knee), guard Charlie Johnson (ankle), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee) and linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (hamstring) was the only player listed as questionable on Minnesota's final injury report. Meanwhile, fullback Jerome Felton (neck), safety Harrison Smith (shoulder), defensive end Everson Griffen (back) and cornerback Jabari Price (hamstring) were all deemed probable for Week 15.


Vikings backup rushers manage little Week 11

(11/16/2014) The Vikings backup rushers didn't do much Week 11 against the Bears.

Free safety Andrew Sendejo actually did make a difference, leading the team in rushing. He gained 48 yards on a fake punt. It was his only rush of the game. 

Jerome Felton got one carry, gaining 3 yards. Matt Asiata also had one carry, but gained 2 yards. Asiata also had three receptions for 12 yards.

They'll look for more Week 12 against the Packers. 


Vikings players open to Adrian Peterson returning in 2014

(11/3/2014) While it is uncertain if running back Adrian Peterson will rejoin the Vikings roster this season, fullback Jerome Felton and running back Jerick McKinnon would welcome Peterson back to the team. The duo have stayed in touch with Peterson, who is away from the team while he deals with child abuse allegations.

"I think we’d be happy to have him back," McKinnon said, per ESPN. "He’s a leader on this team. He’s done a lot for this team, this organization, over the past years. I think it’d be good for the team, having his leadership back, and of course his ability and talent and everything he can do as well."

Felton said he has traded text messages with Peterson several times since he has been away from the team.

"He’s staying strong. He’s doing as good as he can, despite the circumstances. I just showed him my support," Felton said. "He’s one of the top five players in the world. That would be exciting if we could get him back."


Vikings' Jerome Felton gets two carries

(10/19/2014) Vikings running back Jerome Felton received two carries Week 7.

Felton did well with his limited work, picking up 21 rushing yards on just two attempts. He was not targeted in the passing game. Felton will look for more Week 8 against the Buccaneers. 


Nearly all Vikings probables ready to go Week 5

(10/2/2014) The Vikings will have all but one player listed as probable Week 5 against the Packers.

Jerome Felton, Michael Mauti, Jerick McKinnon, Captain Munnerlyn, Josh Robinson and Rodney Smith will all give it a go Thursday.

McKinnon is expected to see time at running back behind Matt Asiata. He entered the week with an ankle injury, but will play through it. 


Seven Vikings probable Week 17

(12/27/2013) Vikings CB Chris Cook, LB Larry Dean, DT Fred Evans, FB Jerome Felton, OL Brandon Fusco, CB Marcus Sherels and S Harrison Smith have been ruled probable Week 17.

Evans was the only player who was limited in practice Friday. The other six were able to participate in full practice. 


Vikings get minor contributions from four players Week 13

(12/1/2013) Vikings running back Toby Gerhart, wide receiver Jarius Wright, fullback Jerome Felton and tight end Chase Ford all made it onto the stat sheet Week 13 vs. Chicago.

Gerhart had two rushes for 8 yards and one catch for 4 yards.

Wright had three catches for 53 yards. His longest reception went 24 yards.

Felton had just one catch for 5 yards, while Ford added one catch for 2 yards.

The Vikings are back in action Week 14 at Baltimore.


Two Vikings players each post one catch Week 12

(11/24/2013) Vikings tight end Chase Ford and fullback Jerome Felton each contributed one catch Week 12 at Green Bay. Ford had one catch for 20 yards, while Felton had one catch for 7 yards.

The Vikings are back in action Week 13 vs. Chicago.


Vikings get minor contributors in Week 11

(11/17/2013) The Vikings received minor contributions from several role players in the passing game during Sunday's loss to the Seahawks in Week 11.

Fullback Jerome Felton caught all two of his targeted passes for 13 yards and quarterback-turned-receiver Joe Webb caught two of the three passes thrown his way for nine yards.

The Vikings will return to action in Week 12 against the Packers in Green Bay.

All but Johnson were able to fully participate in practice Friday. Johnson was a limited participant Friday.


Vikings spread ball around to receivers

(11/3/2013) Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder really spread the ball around on Sunday during the Week 9 loss at Dallas. Ponder found nine different receivers for at least one catch in the game. 

Among the receivers making minor contributions to the loss against the Cowboys was wideout Jarius Wright. Wright caught three passes for 31 yards in the game. He saw five targets from Ponder. 

Wide receiver Jerome Simpson caught two passes for 24 yards in the game. He saw five targets as well. Rookie Cordarrelle Patterson, who is also a return man for the Vikings, had three grabs for 13 yards. 

Tight end John Carlson had four receptions in the game for 23 yards. He saw six targets to finish second on the team behind Greg Jennings. Fullback Jerome Felton had one catch for 11 yards and backup RB Toby Gerhart had one grab for 6. Minnesota next takes the field Week 10 on Thursday at home against Washington. 


Vikings get offensive contributions

(10/22/2013) The Vikings got several small offensive contributions in their loss to the Giants. Running back Toby Gerhart caught two balls for 17 yards, wideout Jarius Wright caught a 13-yard pass, tight end John Carlson had a 9-yard reception and fullback Jerome Felton had a 1-yard grab.

Wright was targeted five times, fourth-most on the team.


Jerome Felton's return could give Adrian Peterson a boost

(9/23/2013) Vikings fullback Jerome Felton returns from his three-game suspension this week, and it could provide a boost to Adrian Peterson, reports ESPN.com. Peterson averaged 6.9 yards per carry with Felton on the field last season, 4.6 yards without him.

In three games this season, Peterson is averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

"This has definitely been one of the more frustrating periods of my life, just watching these last three weeks," said Felton, who made the Pro Bowl last year. "Obviously it's not just me coming back that's going to make the running game do what it needs to do, but I definitely think I can help and contribute."


Vikings trim down to 53

(8/31/2013) The Vikings finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing guard Seth Olsen, full back Jerome Felton, tackle DeMarcus Love, wide receiver Greg Childs and defensive tackle Christian Ballard on the Reserve/Suspended List by the NFL.

In addition, Minnesota waived the following 19 players from the roster: tight end Colin Anderson, running back Joe Banyard, safety Brandan Bishop, guard Travis Bond, cornerback Brandon Burton, wide receiver Stephen Burton, defensive tackle Everett Dawkins, safety Darius Eubanks, cornerback Bobby Felder, tight end Chase Ford, tackle Brandon Keith, defensive tackle Anthony McCloud, linebacker Tyrone McKenzie, tackle Kevin Murphy, defensive tackle Spencer Nealy, defensive end D'Aundre Reed, wide receiver Rodney Smith, wide receiver Adam Thielen and defensive end Collins Ukwu.

(8/14/2013) Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is likely to be without his main fullback for the remainder of the preseason, after Jerome Felton underwent an emergency appendectomy Wednesday. Felton was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after practice, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Felton made the Pro Bowl least season, after leading the way for Peterson's 2,000-yard season. His status for the start of the regular season is not yet known.
