News: St. Louis DL Leonard Little gave the Rams a 17-13 lead in the fourth quarter of the team's Week 6 game at Jacksonville when he intercepted a David Garrard pass and took it 36 yards the other way for the score. Little made an athletic catch in the flat to pick off the pass that was intended for Greg Jones. Little also had a sack in the game.	Analysis: Little has four sacks this season and now has an interception to boot. He doesn't record too many tackles but his sacks make him a decent low-end option in IDP formats.

Analysis: Little improved his franchise-leading sack total to 83 in his career. Little is definitely a sack artist but he doesn't pick up enough other stats to be considered a high-end Fantasy IDP player. He's probably not worth owning or using Week 4 at San Francisco.

News: St. Louis Rams defensive end Leonard Little sprained his right knee in practice, although coach Steve Spagnuolo didn't believe it was serious. A team spokesman said Little was day to day. He did not participate in the second of two workouts Monday. Little was helped off the field after being hurt in a drill and returned with an ice bag on the knee. Spagnuolo said Little spent the rest of the practice on the sideline as a precaution.	Analysis: The 34-year-old Little is in his 12th season with the Rams and has 81 career sacks, most in franchise history since the NFL made it an official statistic in 1982. Last season, Little was second on the team with six sacks. Little is at the end of a career where at one point he was a Fantasy beast. Those days are gone. He might be useful as a one-week replacement off the waiver wire this season with a hanfdul of sacks.

News: Leonard Little feels he's much more than a third-down pass rusher for the Rams. After Sunday morning's full-pad practice at Rams Park, Little insisted he still can be an every-down defensive end. New head coach Steve Spagnuolo has liked what he saw from Little on tape and wanted to keep him. "In all the evaluations we did, he was part of the plan," Spagnuolo said. "So far, so good."	Analysis: Little is at the end of a career where at one point he was a Fantasy beast. Those days are gone. News: Rams DL Leonard Little, who left Week 8 with a hamstring injury, had an MRI that revealed he aggravated the same injury sustained in the season opener. Little had been hoping scar tissue was the culprit. "I'm just going to see how it goes," Little said. "It's an injury that's going to be here the whole year, so I've just got to stay on top of it." The injury limited him in practice Wednesday. Coach Jim Haslett was not optimistic about Little's availability for Week 9 against the Cardinals. "It's bothering him," the coach said. "He didn't play three quarters, so I would think it's pretty significant."	Analysis: When healthy, Little is a decent middle-end DL in Fantasy play for IDP leagues. He is listed as questionable for Week 9 and there is still hope he might be able to play Sunday after taking limited reps all week. Little left last week's 38-3 loss at Philadelphia on the fourth play with a hamstring injury. His playing status remains unknown. "I might not even play at all," Little said Thursday. "It's going to be a matter of how I feel on Saturday. Right now, I'm trying to get back. I'm rehabbing it and trying to get back as quick as I can." Little has not practiced this week. The 33-year-old missed the last nine games of 2007 with a toe injury that required surgery. He had a good training camp and played during the preseason. News: Rams head coach Scott Linehan said Wednesday that DE Leonard Little has come a long way with his left toe injury and appears to be ready to go. He's been practicing so far this training camp. "It was an unusual injury, you know, they've got great doctors these days that get these guys patched up," Linehad said of Little's damaged left big toe. "So we're hoping for the best with that and hoping to avoid any further injuries with him."	Analysis: Little will be 34 in October, 2008, but still will be counted on the generate sacks and tackles for Fantasy owners next season. News: St. Louis DL Leonard Little will have surgery this week to repair a torn ligament in his left big toe, ending his season. Little disclosed plans for the surgery Monday as the Rams, at 0-8 off to the worst start in franchise history, returned from a bye week. "It isn't the type of injury where it will heal on its own," Little said. "If that was the case, then it should have felt a lot better by now. Surgery is the only way to repair the ligament." Dr. Robert Anderson, the team orthopedist for the Carolina Panthers, will perform the operation. Rehabilitation is expected to take four to six months. Little sprained the toe when his left foot was caught in the turf in a 22-3 loss at Baltimore on Oct. 14. The injury made it difficult for Little to push off on the pass rush. He visited Anderson in North Carolina during the bye week to discuss options.	Analysis: It's safe to release Little in all leagues. Hopefully he can return in 2008 and be a solid pass rusher again.

News: There's not much to like from the Rams defenders in Week 3 action at Tampa Bay. CB Ronald Bartell led the way with six solo tackles, SS Corey Chavous had five tackles, LB Will Witherspoon totaled six hits, DE Leonard Little had four solo tackles, CB O.J. Atogwe had three solo tackles, LB Brandon Chillar had six total tackles and a forced fumble, DL Clifton Ryan had two solo tackles and a forced fumble and DL Trevor Johnson had a sack and a solo tackle.	Analysis: Of these players, Chavous, Witherspoon and Little are reliable Fantasy IDP players; Atogwe is decent in deeper leagues. The rest of these players aren't worth owning in Fantasy play.

"I take care of my body now, and I know what it takes to go through an entire season." News: The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Rams DE Leonard Little is very enthusiastic about having new DE James Hall playing opposite him this season. "Thank God for James Hall," Little said, laughing. "No more double teams." Head coach Scott Linehan added his two cents: "I think (Hall) will bring to the table a lot of what Leonard brings to the other side. Maybe a little bit different style. He's a guy that has that sneaky pass rush but is a very willing run defender. I think he can be pretty good for us."	Analysis: Little has been the club's premier pass rush specialist but won't see as much coverage with Hall on the other end of the D-line. The addition of DT Adam Carriker will also help Little get to the ball faster. Consider Little a No. 1 Fantasy DL in IDP league play worth an early- to middle-round pick since he delivers in every stat category.

Analysis: The Rams did not have a good year defensively and will not be a popular pick on Draft Day 2007. They might be taken as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy DST. The St. Louis defensive end is among the NFL leaders with 12 sacks, fighting through constant double-teaming to get to the quarterback. He's a rare overachiever on a unit that ranks in the bottom third of the league. Little found out earlier in the week he was a first alternate in balloting by players and coaches, with fan voting serving as tiebreaker. If called, he said he'll decline to participate. "I don't even know what the criteria is for that anymore," Little said. "All I know is no matter what, I'm not going. I would call the federal government and get a recount, but I can't do that - unlike Al Gore."	Analysis: Even though he is not a technically a Pro Bowler, he certainly plays like one. He is a must-start Fantasy DL for Week 16.

I wanted it to be a good one," said Little, who has spent his entire nine-year career with St. Louis. The 32-year-old Little had five tackles and one sack in the Rams' 15-0 loss to Carolina on Sunday. Little has 10 sacks on the season, 4 1/2 shy of his career-high set in 2001. "It's been in the works," Little said of the new contract. "I guess they really wanted to see if I would come out and play better than I did the last couple of years. I knew I was going to play this way."	Analysis: Little is having a great season and is well-deserving of the contract extension. He should be starting in your Fantasy IDP lineup every week.
