Andre Branch, Alan Ball come through

(12/23/2013) Jaguars defensive lineman Andre Branch and defensive back Alan Ball both delivered big plays Week 16 against the Titans. Branch recorded a sack in the second quarter, his sixth of the season and fifth in six games. Ball recorded an interception early in the third quarter, his second of the season.

Branch also had four tackles, three solo. Ball had two tackles, both solo.

(12/6/2013) Jaguars defensive lineman Andre Branch continued his solid play in Week 14 against the Texans, in a 27-20 win in Week 14. Brand picked up four tackles, including one sack, his third in four games.

Branch has four sacks on the season to go along with 28 tackles, after finishing his rookie season with just one sack.


Jaguars defenders play through injuries Thursday

(12/5/2013) The Jaguars defense is in good shape for Week 14 against the Texans, despite the presence of six players on the injury report. Of those six, five are active and in uniform for Thursday's game, after being listed on the injury report as probable. They are: Defensive linemen Andre Branch (knee) and Roy Miller (shoulder; linebackers Geno Hayes (knee) and Nate Stupar (chest); and defensive back Mike Harris (hip).

The offensive players among them are wideouts Cecil Shorts (groin) and Mike Brown (shoulder), tight end Marcedes Lewis (knee), tackle Austin Pasztor (shoulder) and guard Will Rackley (elbow).

The defensive players are end Andre Branch (knee), cornerback Mike Harris (hip), linebackers Nate Stupar (chest) and Geno Hayes (knee) and tackle Roy Miller (shoulder).


Jaguars list nine probables on injury report

(11/29/2013) The Jaguars placed 12 players on their Friday injury report, but nine are probable for the game against the Browns on Sunday.

The offensive players so designated are linemen Will Rackley (illness) and Cameron Bradfield (bicep) and wide receiver Cecil Shorts (groin). Running back Justin Forsett (foot) is out.

The defensive probables are cornerback Will Blackmon (shoulder), defensive end Andre Branch (knee), safety Winston Guy (shoulder), linebackers J.T. Thomas (ankle) and Geno Hayes (knee) and tackle Roy Miller (shoulder).


Andre Branch records sack in consecutive games

(11/25/2013) Jaguars second-year defensive end Andre Branch accomplished a first in his NFL career Sunday at Houston -- recording a sack in two straight games. Branch also recorded two solo tackles for a second straight game and had a pass defense Week 12.

Branch has 21 tackles (18 solo), three sacks and two pass defenses in 11 games -- all career highs.

Among them are defensive tackle Tyson Alualu (elbow), defensive end Andre Branch (neck), wide receivers Cecil Shorts (groin) and Mike Brown (ankle), running back Maurice Jones-Drew (knee), defensive tackles Roy Miller (shoulder) and Sen'Derrick Marks (ankle) and tight end Danny Noble (hamstring).

Offensive lineman Will Rackley (head) is doubtful while linebacker Paul Posluszny (concussion) is questionable.

(10/25/2013) The Jaguars haven't played well defensively, but at least their defenders are healthy heading into their game Sunday in merry old England against San Francisco.

Listed as prabable are linebacker Russell Allen (ribs) and defensive linemen Andre Branch (knee), Sen'Derrick Marks (knee/ankle), Roy Miller (shoulder) and Jeremy Mincey (concussion) and defensive backs Johnathan Cyprien (calf) and Dwayne Gratz (ankle).


Jaguars defense getting healthy

(10/20/2013) Jaguars linebacker Russell Allen and defensive linemen Andre Branch and Roy Miller are all active for the Week 7 game on Sunday at home against San Diego. All three defensive players were listed on the injury report as probable to play in the game with various injuries. Allen has a ribs issue, Branch is dealing with a knee and Miller a shoulder. All will play through the pain against the Chargers.

(10/7/2013) Jaguars defensive end Andre Branch picked up the first sack of his season and second of his career on Sunday during the Week 5 loss at St. Louis. Branch added three tackles in the game and has six in five contests this season. 

Alualu, Branch rest Thursday

(4/18/2013) Jaguars defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and defensive end Andre Branch sat out practice Thursday with injuries suffered in previous minicamp workouts. Alualu has an abdominal issue while Branch hurt his groin. Neither ailment is considered serious.
