(11/14/2014) The 49ers have ruled Jimmie Ward (foot), Ian Williams (fibula) out for Week 11 against the Giants. Tramaine Brock (hamstring), Bruce Ellington (ankle) and Dan Skuta (ankle) were all deemed questionable.

The following players were labeled probable for Sunday: Chris Borland (shoulder), Frank Gore (hip), Ray McDonald (knee), Eric Reid (ankle) and Justin Smith (rest).


Report: 49ers NT Ian Williams to miss at least a month

(11/10/2014) 49ers nose tackle Ian Williams, who suffered a leg fracture in Sunday's win at New Orleans, will miss at least a month, reports Yahoo Sports. Surgery won't be needed, the report said.

Coach Jim Harbaugh did not provide an update on Williams at his Monday news conference, but on Sunday he called the injury "a bit of a small fracture."

Tramaine Brock (toe), Brandon Lloyd (hamstring) and Quinton Dial (eye) were all limited participants in Friday's practice and ruled questionable. Dan Skuta (ankle) and Patrick Willis (toe) were unable to practice, but were still deemed questionable for Sunday.

(10/19/2014) The 49ers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 7 matchup against the Broncos: cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), guard Mike Iupati (concussion), linebacker Patrick Willis (toe), safety Jimmie Ward (quad), center Marcus Martin, wide receiver Quinton Patton and defensive end Tank Carradine.

Culliver and Ward received questionable designations on the team's final injury report, while Willis was already listed as out. Cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe) and tackle Anthony Davis (knee, ankle) are active after being listed as questionable.

Wide receiver Steve Johnson (hip) and tight end Vernon Davis (back) head the list of players who were listed as probable that are active in Week 7, a list that also includes cornerbacks Chris Cook (quad) and Perrish Cox (quad) as well as defensive linemen Justin Smith (not injury related), Ian Williams (ankle, shoulder) and Tony Jerod-Eddie (shoulder).

(10/17/2014) The 49ers listed 13 players on its final injury report Friday leading up to Week 7 at Denver. linebacker Patrick Willis (toe) and guard Mike Iupati (concussion) were the only two players ruled out on the report.

Meanwhile, cornerback Tramaine Brock (toe), cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder), tackle Anthony Davis (knee, ankle) and defensive back Jimmie Ward (quadriceps) were all labeled questionable for Sunday.

49ers DST looking to shake off disappointing start

(9/18/2013) The 49ers DST came into the season highly regarded, but has been a major disappointment. San Francisco is tied for 28th with 14 Fantasy points through two games.

When nose tackle Ian Williams broke his ankle against the Seahawks, Glenn Dorsey replaced him and the run defense suffered. Marshawn Lynch ended up running for 98 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Rookie safety Eric Reid, meanwhile, is dealing with a concussion.

Still, the 49ers are at home Sunday for their best matchup of the young season. Start them against Indianapolis and expect their most productive performance yet. Two of three CBSSports.com experts peg the 49ers DST as a top-8 play this week.

(9/15/2013) 49ers defensive tackle Ian Williams was forced out of Sunday night's contest against the Seahawks in Week 2 with a left leg injury.

Williams suffered the injury early in the first quarter and was helped off the field. He was taken to the locker room for further evaluation and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. According to Pro Football Talk, Williams has suffered a broken ankle, which will keep him out for a good potion of the season.
