Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman catches seven passes Week 16

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(12/21/2014) Chargers wide receiver Dontrelle Inman racked up seven receptions on nine targets for 79 yards in his team's 38-35 overtime win over the 49ers in Week 16.

The coaches opened the second half with Inman in the lineup and the team down 28-7, and the little-used receiver was able to reward the gamble with an excellent half of football, picking up all his receptions in the second half. It was the first time this season Inman had even seen a target in a game, but he was able to pick up three first downs, including one on a crucial fourth-and-10 with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter and his team down seven points. The Chargers tied the game two plays later before winning in overtime.

Inman may have earned himself a significant role in his team's Week 17 matchup with the Chiefs, especially if Keenan Allen is unable to return to action.

Carrethers had already been ruled out for Sunday's game so his absence won't be unexpected. The team does have all three of its questionable players available for action, as linebacker Donald Butler (quad) and offensive linemen D.J. Fluker (concussion) and Chris Watt (calf) are active. Also active are all the team's probable players, including quarterback Philip Rivers (chest), defensive tackle Corey Liuget (knee) and linebacker Andrew Gachkar (knee).

The two running backs and Te'o were ruled out on the team's final injury report, while Attaochu was doubtful to play. Verrett is inactive after being questionable on the final injury report, but cornerback Brandon Flowers (groin) and linebackers Dwight Freeney (knee) and Cordarro Law (ankle) are all active after also being questionable.

Dontrelle Inman lights up the Cowboys

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/8/2014) Chargers receiver Dontrelle Inman made a mighty impact on Thursday vs. the Cowboys, catching three passes for 107 yards including a dandy 70-yard touchdown haul from Kellen Clemens in the third quarter. The lanky Inman (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) ran a basic go route down the right sideline and Clemens hit him in stride for the long score.

Inman first entered the NFL in 2011 with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent but didn't make the team. He took his talents north of the border to the Canadian Football League where he caught 50 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie with the Toronto Argonauts, winning the Grey Cup with them. He tallied another 50 catches for 739 yards and six touchdowns in 2013 with the Argos, even punting for them three times (averaging 29.3 yards per punt).

Inman is in a battle for a roster spot with the Bolts this summer but seems like a favorite among fellow receivers as he celebrated his score with Eddie Royal and Keenan Allen as he made his way back to the sideline. He'll try to catch on some more when the Bolts play at the Seahawks on Aug. 15.
