Dontrelle Inman lights up the Cowboys
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(8/8/2014) Chargers receiver Dontrelle Inman made a mighty impact on Thursday vs. the Cowboys, catching three passes for 107 yards including a dandy 70-yard touchdown haul from Kellen Clemens in the third quarter. The lanky Inman (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) ran a basic go route down the right sideline and Clemens hit him in stride for the long score.
Inman first entered the NFL in 2011 with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent but didn't make the team. He took his talents north of the border to the Canadian Football League where he caught 50 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie with the Toronto Argonauts, winning the Grey Cup with them. He tallied another 50 catches for 739 yards and six touchdowns in 2013 with the Argos, even punting for them three times (averaging 29.3 yards per punt).
Inman is in a battle for a roster spot with the Bolts this summer but seems like a favorite among fellow receivers as he celebrated his score with Eddie Royal and Keenan Allen as he made his way back to the sideline. He'll try to catch on some more when the Bolts play at the Seahawks on Aug. 15.
