Cowboys announce Week 17 inactives

(12/29/2013) The Cowboys declared these players inactive for the game vs. Philly: quarterback Tony Romo, who earlier was ruled out with a back injury; linebacker Sean Lee (neck), linebacker Ernie Sims (groin), offensive tackle Darrion Weems, linebacker Martez Wilson, cornerback B.W. Webb and defensive back Jakar Hamilton.  

Cowboys inactives Week 16

(12/22/2013) The Cowboys have listed WR Dwayne Harris, S Jakar Hamilton, CB Morris Claiborne, LB Sean Lee, DE Martez Wilson and LB Ernie Sims as inactive Week 16 against Washington. 

Claiborne and Sims came into the game listed as doubtful. The other five players are healthy scratches.

(10/23/2013) Linebacker Martez Wilson wasn't floating around for long. He was signed Thursday by the Raiders, one day after his release from New Orleans.

Wilson played in 32 games in three years with the Saints with just one start. He had five sacks in 15 games in 2012 and one in four games this season.

(10/11/2013) The Saints could be missing a number of contributors on the defensive side of the ball for Week 6 against the Patriots, based on Friday's injury report. After being limited in practice throughout the week, linebacker Ramon Humber (calf), defensive backs Malcolm Jenkins (neck) and Keenan Lewis (knee) and defensive lineman Brodrick Bunkley (calf) are all questionable for Sunday's game.

The team also has five players on the injury report who are expected to play through their injuries. The team has listed linebacker Martez Wilson (ankle), defensive ends Tom Johnson (hamstring) and Glenn Foster (ankle) and defensive bacsk Chris Carr (back) and Isa Abdul-Quddus(ankle) on the injury report as probable.

(10/1/2013) The Saints got several big contributions defensively in their blowout of the Dolphins. Safety Malcolm Jenkins led the team with seven tackles, one for loss, and safety Rafael Bush had five tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass defended.

Linebackers Junior Galette and Martez Wilson and defensive end Tyrunn Walker each sacked Ryan Tannehill.

Of 11 players listed on the injury report, nine are expected to make their season debut in the opener. Those players are: wide receivers Marques Colston (foot) and Nick Toon (chest); running back Travaris Cadet (foot); linebackers Martez Wilson (elbow), Kevin Reddick (shoulder), and Junior Galette (hamstring); and offensive linemen Jahri Evans (back), Zach Strief (back) and Terron Armstead (stomach).

(8/16/2013) Saints linebacker Martez Wilson did not dress for Friday's preseason game against the Raiders, as he continues to deal with a left elbow injury suffered at the start of training camp. This injury could keep him off the field until close to the start of the regular season, as he only returned to practice Tuesday and he will wear an elbow brace for the whole season.

(7/30/2013) Saints linebacker Martez Wilson will miss 2-4 weeks after sustaining a left elbow injury, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Wilson left Monday morning's practice after trying to make tackle in the backfield. He walked off the field with a trainer holding his left arm.

(7/29/2013) Saints linebacker Martez Wilson went down with what coach Sean Payton called a left elbow injury in practice Monday according to WWL-AM. Trainers took him inside the team's facility for further evaluation. Payton did not seem overly concerned at his press conference. 

Wilson was expected to help the Saints' pass rush this season as a pass rushing outside linebacker. The team already lost linebacker Victor Butler to a torn ACL in June.

(6/12/2013) Saints pass rusher Victor Butler tore his ACL at practice on Tuesday and is expected to miss the 2013 season according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Butler was expected to start opposite Will Smith. Now, Martez Wilson will likely replace him.
