Buccaneers sign safety Chris Conte

(3/12/2015) The Buccaneers have signed free agent safety Chris Conte to a one-year deal, according to the team's official website on Thursday.

Conte, 26,registered 43 tackles and three interceptions in 12 starts for the Bears last season. He has ties with current Tampa Bay coach Lovie Smith. He played 29 games for the former Chicago coach from 2011-2012.

Conte has ties with current Tampa Bay coach Lovie Smith. he played 29 games for the former Chicago coach from 2011-2012. Last season, registered 43 tackles and three interceptions in 12 starts.

(12/26/2014) Bears safety Chris Conte will miss Sunday's game against the Vikings with a back injury. Conte was unable to practice all week. He played 12 games this season, recording 43 tackles and three interceptions. Also out are quarterback Jimmy Clausen (concussion) and kicker Robbie Gould (quad).

Defensive end Jared Allen (ribs), defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff, and cornerback Al Lewis-Jean (hamstring) are all listed a questionable for Sunday.

David Bass (knee), Ego Ferguson (ankle), Kyle Long (hip) and Marquess Wilson (knee) are all listed as probable.

The Bears are 6-point underdogs for Sunday's game.

(12/21/2014) Four injured or ailing Bears have been ruled out for the Sunday game against Detroit, including placekicker Robbie Gould (quad). The others are guard Kyle Long (hip), defensive tackle Will Sutton (illness) and safety Chris Conte (back).

Quarterback David Fales, cornerback Terrance Mitchell and defensive end Trevor Scott are all healthy scratches.

Defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (knee), defensive end Cornelius Washington (ankle) and offensive lineman Michael Ola (back) were all deemed questionable.

Conte is dealing with a back injury. He left the game late in the third quarter, and was ruled out almost immediately. Conte finished with two tackles.

Bennett came into the contest listed as probable due to a foot injury. Conte was questionable with an eye issue. Both players will give it a go on Thursday.

The team will also have Tim Jennings, Kyle Long and Trevor Scott. All three players were listed as probable coming in, and were always expected to play.

Cornerback Tim Jennings (calf), guard Kyle Long (groin) and defensive end Trevor Scott (knee) are probable. Safety Chris Conte (eye) and defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff (knee) are questionable. Defensive end Cornelius Washington (chest) is doubtful.

The only other Bear not listed as probable on their Friday injury report is tackle Jordan Mills (foot), who is questionable. The probables are wideout Wallace Williams (illness), safety Chris Conte (shoulder), tight end Martellus Bennett (hamstring) and cornerback Kyle Fuller (hip).
