Mason Foster picks one off in blowout win

(12/8/2013) Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster had a solid game Sunday, in a Week 14 win over the Bills, 27-6. Foster matched the team high in tackles with nine -- seven solo -- and added one of the team's four interceptions.

Foster has 73 tackles and three interceptions on the season, two of which have come in the last three games.

(12/1/2013) Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster, returning after missing a game with a concussion, delivered a season-high nine tackles, including four solo, Week 13 at Carolina.

He entered the day averaging just 5.5 tackles per game, though he has contributed two sacks, two interceptions and two defensive touchdowns this season.

(12/1/2013) Buccaneers linebacker Mason Foster, who was listed as probable on Friday's injury report, is active for Week 13 at Carolina. Foster was able to practice in full all week after missing Week 12 with a concussion.

Foster is averaging just 5.5 tackles in 10 games, but he has contributed two interceptions, two sacks and two defensive touchdowns this season.


Five Buccaneers probable Week 13

(11/29/2013) Buccaneers LB Mason Foster, LB Adam Hayward, OL Davin Joseph, OL Jamon Meredith, and DT Akeem Spence are probable Week 13.

All five players were full participants in practice Thursday. Only Hayward and Joseph were unable to practice Wednesday.


Buccaneers in good shape for Sunday game

(11/24/2013) The Buccaneers are fairly healthy heading into their Sunday game against the Lions. The lone injuries on their inactive list belong to guard Carl Nicks (staph infection surgery) and linebacker Mason Foster (concussion).

The healthy scratches are defensive tackle Gary Gibson, safety Dashon Goldson (suspended), defensive end Steven Means, guard Patrick Omameh and running back Lonnie Pryor.


Bucs rule out two players

(11/22/2013) The Buccaneers have ruled out LB Mason Foster and OL Carl Nicks Week 12 against the Lions.

Foster has been dealing with a concussion, and was unable to return to practice. Nicks has only played two games this year due to a foot issue.


Bucs coach updates status of three injured defensive players

(11/18/2013) Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano updated the status of a few injured players Monday.

He said linebacker Mason Foster will be under observation for a few days because of a concussion. 

Schiano said defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, who sat out Week 11 with a concussion, is likely to return Week 12 at Detroit. 

Schiano added cornerback Johnthan Banks is day to day with a shoulder injury.


Good news, bad news for Mason Foster

(11/17/2013) Linebacker Mason Foster pulled off the biggest play for the Buccaneers defense Week 11 against the Falcons, intercepting a Matt Ryan pass in the second quarter and returning it 37 yards for a touchdown, but he wasn't around to see the end of the game, suffering a concussion in the second half.

In addition to the interception, he had three tackles, including two solo. He's averaging 5.5 tackles per game this season.

(11/1/2013) The Buccaneers defense is dealing with a number of injuries in Week 9 against the Seahawks, based on Friday's injury report. Linebacker Mason Foster (hamstring), defensive lineman Akeem Spence (wrist) and defensive back Keith Tandy (ankle) were all able to get through the week in practice and are probable, but represent less than half of the team's list of injured players.

The Buccaneers have four players on the injury report who are considered questionable for the game: defensive backs Mark Barron (hip) and Dashon Goldson (knee); linebacker Dekoda Watson; and defensive lineman Derek Landri (back) were all limited at times in practice due to their injuries.

Bucs defenders contribute in Week 4 loss

(9/30/2013) Buccaneers linebackers Dekoda Watson, Mason Foster and Lavonte David were some of the team's top tacklers Week 4 vs. Arizona.

Watson tied cornerback Darrelle Revis with a team-high six tackles -- all solo. Mason Foster had five solo tackles, while David had three solo tackles and two assists. Watson had two tackles for loss, while Foster and David each had a pass defense.

Defensive lineman Gerald McCoy contributed a sack, fumble recovery and pass defense in the 13-10 loss, while cornerback Johnthan Banks had one solo tackle, his first career interception and two pass defenses.

Foster picked off a Drew Brees pass and rumbled his way back for an 85-yard return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He registered seven total tackles (three solo) and a pass defended in a 16-14 defeat.

Foster finished the performance with a team-high two sacks and eight tackles. He also had a team high with seven solo stops on the game. Foster plays at home against New Orleans Week 2.
