Chris Culliver pleads not guilty to charges

(4/14/2014) 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor hit-and-run charges and felony possession of brass knuckles in Santa Clara County Superior Court. Culliver was arrested March 28 after he allegedly struck a bicyclist and then hit a witness' vehicle that blocked his car's way.

(4/10/2014) 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver was charged with a felony count and two misdemeanors after being allegedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in March. He'll be arraigned on Friday. Comcast Sportsnet believes the case will be continued to a later day and time so that Culliver can ultimately enter a plea. 

Culliver is being accused with hitting a bicyclist and driving away, as well as carrying metal knuckles.

(3/29/2014) 49ers defensive back Chris Culliver was released from jail Friday, after being booked for felony hit-and-run and weapons possession charges, according to KTVU.com.

Culliver was arrested after allegedly striking a bicyclist with his car and then engaging in a confrontation with a witness before fleeing the scene. He has been charged with two felonies according to the report, as well as additional charges of reckless driving and a misdemeanor hit and run for running into a vehicle.

"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent matter involving Chris Culliver," the 49ers said in a statement. "We will remain in contact with Chris and the local authorities as we continue to gather the facts regarding this situation. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will reserve further comment at this time."

Culliver is scheduled appear in Santa Clara County court April 11.


Chris Culliver favored to start in 2014

(2/5/2014) The 49ers are set at one cornerback spot in 2014, with 25-year-old Tramaine Brock returning after making five interceptions in just seven starts. Chris Culliver is the favorite to start opposite Brock, reports the Sacramento Bee.

Culliver is on track to return from the torn ACL he suffered early in training camp. Tarell Brown and Eric Wright are unrestricted free agents, Perrish Cox a restricted free agent. San Francisco is expected to ask Carlos Rogers to take a pay cut.

(8/1/2013) 49ers cornerback Chris Culliver underwent an MRI on his left knee Thursday, and the results confirmed that he has a torn ACL, according to ESPN.com. He suffered the injury in practice earlier in the day and had to be carted off the field. Though a date has not been set for surgery, he will miss the season as a result of the injury.
