(4/1/2015) The Steelers have announced they have re-signed defensive end Clifton Geathers, per Adam Caplan of ESPN on Wednesday. Geathers, 27, played three of his nine games last season with the Steelers. He totaled four tackles in 2014.

(1/3/2015) The Steelers have listed the following players as inactive for Saturday's game against the Ravens: quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Lance Moore, cornerback Ike Taylor, running back Le'Veon Bell, defensive end Clifton Geathers, guard Chris Hubbard and tight end Michael Palmer.

Steelers list Week 17 inactives vs. Bengals

(12/28/2014) The Steelers have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 17 showdown with the Bengals: cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder, forearm), safety Troy Polamalu (knee), tight end Michael Palmer (groin), quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Justin Brown, defensive end Clifton Geathers and guard Chris Hubbard.

Taylor, Polamalu and Palmer were all listed as questionable to play Sunday but none of the three will be available for the regular-season finale. The three players listed as probable to play in Week 17 are all active, including tackle Kelvin Beachum (back), tight end Matt Spaeth (elbow) and linebacker Vince Williams (ankle).

Pittsburgh is a 3 1/2-point favorite at home against Cincinnati.


Steelers without Ike Taylor, Troy Polamalu for Sunday against Chiefs

(12/21/2014) The Steelers will be without starting cornerback Ike Taylor and safety Troy Polamalu for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. 

Taylor has been dealing with a shoulder injury that also caused him to miss Week 15's game against the Falcons. Polamalu, who is dealing with a knee injury, has 61 tackles and one forced fumble in 2014. 

Other inactives for Pittsburgh include: quarterback Landry Jones, wide receiver Justin Brown, defensive end Clifton Geathers, offensive lineman Chris Hubbard, and tight end Matt Spaeth.


Trio of injured Steelers inactive for Sunday game

(12/14/2014) Three injured players have been placed on the inactive list by the Steelers for their Week 15 game against the Falcons. They are cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder), linebacker James Harrison (knee) and tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle).

The healthy scratches are quarterback Landry Jones, wideout Justin Brown, defensive end Clifton Geathers and running back Dri Archer.

(12/1/2014) The Steelers announced defensive end Brett Keisel will miss the remainder of the season with a triceps injury. The team placed him on the injured reserve list and signed defensive end Clifton Geathers on Monday, per the team's official website. Keisel's season ends with 14 total tackles, one sack and one interception.

(11/1/2014) The Redskins have released defensive lineman Clifton Geathers, ESPN Radio reports. Geathers recorded six total tackles in the first six weeks but was inactive for each of the team's last two games.

Also sitting out are wideout Aldrick Robinson, offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus (knee), guard Spencer Long, cornerback Greg Ducre , defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat and defensive tackle Clifton Geathers.

(3/13/2014) The Redskins have agreed to terms with cornerback Tracy Porter, defensive lineman Clifton Geathers and linebacker Darryl Sharpton.

The National Football Post reported the signings for Porter and Geathers. Pro Football Talk reported the signing for Sharpton, who signed a one-year deal for $2 million.
