Two top Seahawks held out of Friday session

(1/24/2014) Two Seahawks standouts were red-lighted from Friday practice, but are considered probable for the Super Bowl. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hip) and featured back Marshawn Lynch (knee) were both held out. Also out were cornerback Byron Maxwell (neck) and linebacker K.J. Wright (foot)

Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (ankle) was limited.


K.J. Wright likely starter in Super Bowl

(1/24/2014) Pete Carroll said that Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright (foot) should play in the Super Bowl as a starter if healthy, per the Everett Herald. Wright started the first 13 games of the regular season before being sidelined for the last three. He played some in the NFL title game against San Francisco.

Lynch was on the report for a non-injury related issue while Wright had been bothered by a foot injury. Both players were probable to play leading up to Sunday.

Wright had 80 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 13 games.

The other inactives are wide receiver Bryan Walters, running back Christine Michael, tackle Caylin Hauptmann, guard James Carpenter and defensive end Benson Mayowa.

(1/10/2014) Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright will miss his fourth straight game Saturday with a foot injury. He has been ruled out of the NFC semifinal against New Orleans. The only teammate likely to miss the game is defensive tackle Jordan Hill (groin), who is doubtful. Free safety Chris Maragos (back) is questionable.

The probables are safety Kam Chancellor (hip), wideout Percy Harvin (hip) and tight end Luke Willson (ankle).

(12/20/2013) The Seahawks ruled out three players for Week 16 against the Cardinals, on Friday's injury report. Wide receiver Percy Harvin (hip) is the biggest name among them, and this will make the fourth straight game he will miss as a result of this injury.

Additionally, offensive lineman J.R. Sweezy (concussion) and linebacker K.J. Wright (foot) were both ruled out, after being unable to practice throughout the week.

(12/8/2013) Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters after a Week 14 loss to the 49ers that linebacker K.J. Wright broke a bone in his foot and will likely need a recovery of six weeks, leaving him likely out for the remainder of the regular season, the team announced.

Wright left the game in the second quarter with the injury and was seen on the sidelines with a walking boot. He registered 80 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two defended passes in 12 games this season.

Wright left the game in the second quarter with the injury and was taken back to the locker room for further tests. He did not return for the rest of the game and was seen on the sidelines with a walking boot. He had three total tackles (two solo) before leaving the game.

Wright finished second on the team with seven tackles -- six solo -- and added half a sack, part of the team's total of seven. He now has 41 tackles through seven games, with 1 1/2 sacks.

Wright took Colin Kaepernick down in the second quarter for a loss of 13 yards. He registered seven tackles (five solo) in a 42-13 victory.
