Anthony Sherman scores rare touchdown

(1/4/2014) Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman picked a good time to score his first career receiving touchdown, as he found the end zone in Saturday's Wild Card game against the Colts.

Sherman caught a pair of passes for just 1 yard total, but one of them went for a 5-yard score in the 45-44 loss.

Sherman caught just two passes for 3 yards throughout the regular season. 


Chiefs get minor contributions in Week 15

(12/15/2013) The Chiefs received several contributions from role players during Sunday's 56-31 victory over the Raiders in Week 15.

Donnie Avery finished the game as the team's second leading receiver with only two catches for 33 yards on three targets. Cyrus Gray, Anthony Sherman and Chad Hall each finished the game with one reception. Gray had 18, Sherman had 15 and Hall had 11 yards.

(12/6/2013) Seven Chiefs have been deemed probable for the game Sunday at Washington, including wide receivers Dexter McCluster (non-injury related) and Donnie Avery (shoulder).

The others are offensive linemen Rodney Hudson (elbow) and Jeff Allen (groin/knee), defensive end Mike DeVito (knee), defensive back Ron Parker (shoulder) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee/ankle).

(12/1/2013) The Chiefs backup pass-catchers failed to do much Week 13 against the Broncos.

Sean McGrath caught just one pass for 11 yards. He was targeted three times. Cyrus Gray also caught one ball, but picked up just 8 yards. Anthony Sherman caught one pass for 8 yards as well. They'll take on Washington Week 14.

All four players were able to practice in full every day this week. Jackson is dealing with an abdomen injury.

Chiefs pass catchers make minimal impact Week 12

(11/24/2013) Chiefs pass catchers Anthony Fasano, A.J. Jenkins and Anthony Sherman didn't make a big impact Week 12 against the Chargers.

Fasano was the most successful, catching four passes for 21 yards. Though he averaged just 5.3 yards per catch, he managed to score on a 4 yard touchdown in the third quarter. Jenkins caught one pass for 22 yards. Sherman also caught one pass, but it went for just 8 yards. 

They'll take on the Broncos Week 13. 


Five Chiefs ready to go Week 12

(11/24/2013) Chiefs DE Mike Catapano, S Sanders Commings, TE Anthony Fasano, LB Derrick Johnson and RB Anthony Sherman are active Week 12 against the Chargers.

Despite struggling with injuries, all five players were able to participate in full practice each day this week. Fasano and Sherman are both dealing with knee issues.

Chiefs get offensive contributions

(11/18/2013) Several Chiefs made offensive contributions in the Week 10 loss at Denver. No. 2 tight end Sean McGrath caught two passes for 40 yards and wideout Donnie Avery had a 20-yard reception on three targets.

No. 2 running back Knile Davis ran three times for 13 yards and caught an 11-yard pass. Fullback Anthony Sherman had a 1-yard carry and caught two passes for 18 yards, but lost a fumble.

They'll face the Chargers in Week 12.

Anthony Sherman gets first carry of the year in win

(11/3/2013) Chiefs running back Anthony Sherman carried the ball one time for two yards in Sunday's 23-13 win over the Bills. It was the first carry of the season for Sherman, who had a receiving touchdown in Week 8. 

The Chiefs are on bye next week, then travel to Denver for a Week 11 showdown against the Broncos.

Sherman and the Chiefs face the Bills in Buffalo in Week 9.

Among them is linebacker Derrick Johnson (wrist), who has three sacks in the last two games. The others are offensive lineman Jeff Allen (knee/groin), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe), defensive back Ron Parker (toe) and running back Anthony Sherman knee/calf).

(10/20/2013) Several Chiefs skill position players made small contributions to the win Sunday against Houston. Among them were Knile Davis, who had two carries for 5 yards, and Cyrus Gray, who added three yards on one attempt.

Anthony Sherman caught two passes for 10 yards. Tight end Sean McGrath, who lost his starting job upon the return of Anthony Fasano from injury, had one reception for 1 yard.

Among its offensive players are linemen Branden Albert (knee, elbow), Jeff Allen (groin/hand) and Jon Asamoah (knee), tight ends Kevin Brock (shoulder) and Anthony Fasano (ankle/knee), wide receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder) and running back Anthony Sherman (knee).

The defensive players listed as probable are cornerback Brandon Flowers (ankle), linebacker Dezman Moses (knee) and tackle Dontari Poe (ankle). Punter Dustin Colquitt (knee) is also probable.
