Don Carey earns extension

(1/10/2014) The Lions have signed strong safety Don Carey to a three-year extension that includes an $800,000 signing bonus, per the Detroit Free Press. Carey played in 14 games and started three of the last seven.

Two questionable Lions will play

(9/29/2013) Lions safety Don Carey and tackle Corey Hilliard has been ruled active Week 4 against Chicago.

Carey had been dealing with a hamstring injury. Hilliard was sidelined with a groin issue this week.

(9/27/2013) The Lions could be without a pair of defenders in Week 4, after defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (abdomen) and safety Don Carey (hamstring) were limited in practice Friday. Both players are officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears as a result of their injuries.

(9/15/2013) The Lions have made Nick Fairley, Mikel Leshoure, Ryan Broyles, Jason Fox, Don Carey, Kellen Moore and Leroy Harris inactive for Week 2 against the Cardinals. 

Fairley has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but was able to practice on a limited basis Friday. Broyles will remain out while trying to recover from an ACL injury. Leshoure is once again a healthy scratch.
