by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/20/2014) Free agent defensive back Charles Woodson won't be changing addresses for the upcoming season, after agreeing to return to the Raiders on a one-year deal, according to ESPN.com Wednesday.

The 27-year-old put together a very productive 2013 season, finishing with a career-high 97 tackles. He added three forced fumbles and one interception in his return to Oakland after seven seasons in Green Bay.

Charles Woodson could retire if deal not right

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/28/2014) Defensive back Charles Woodson wants to return to the Raiders in 2014, and both general manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen have said they want the 16-year veteran back, reports ESPN.

But if Woodson does not receive what he considers a fair contract offer from Oakland he said he is ready to retire.

"If the right numbers don't come across, for myself and from the team's standpoint, then it's a serious consideration. ... I could have played my last season in the NFL," Woodson told SiriusXM NFL radio on Thursday. "So that's definitely something that I think about. I do plan on playing another year. Hopefully something can get done with the Raiders, but if not, then I've got to take a real hard look at last year being the last one."

Woodson, 37, played all but seven defensive snaps last season. He finished with 97 tackles, third on the team, with two sacks, an interception, three forced fumbles and two fumbles recoveries.

Charles Woodson wants to keep playing

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/25/2014) Defensive back Charles Woodson told ESPN he has no intention on retiring. The Raiders are interested in bringing him back. As for his other former team, the Packers, they might not have the room for him.

"I don't think that's going to happen," Woodson said regarding playing in Green Bay. "I definitely plan on playing. But I think the Packers already have plenty of safeties."

Raiders coach Dennis Allen has expressed his desire on getting Woodson back.

"I definitely think he's got something left in the tank," Allen said. "Obviously, when you get to that age, you never know when the tank's going to empty out. I felt like he brought a lot to the table for our football team this past season. I think he's a guy we'd like to hopefully bring back."

"I don't understand where it's all coming from," Woodson told ESPNWisconsin on Friday. "...It's got to be hurtful to [Rodgers] because what are they talking about, to question his leadership ability, his leadership skills? The guy is one of the best players in the NFL, and I think he does a great job as far as leading them into battle."

Packers to cut Woodson

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/15/2013) The Packers are set to release defensive back Charles Woodson after he spent seven years in Green Bay. The news first appeared on the Twitter feed for Woodson's winery -- "Thank you Green Bay it was a great run!" -- and NFL Network reported that Carl Poston, Woodson's agent, said "They're getting ready to release him. It's part of the business." Wooson, 36, spent the first eight years of his NFL career in Oakland. The former Michigan star won the Heisman Trophy in 1997 and was the fourth player taken in the 1998 NFL Draft. He's an eight-time Pro Bowler, an NFL Defensive Player of the Year as well as a Super Bowl champion. Woodson, who moved to safety late in his career after playing cornerback, has 55 interceptions and is undoubtedly a first-ballot Hall of Famer. But conversations about Canton are premature; Poston said that Woodson "Sounds like he has a lot of football left," and that his client would "like to go play for a contender, win another Super Bowl. He caught that bug."

Could the Packers cut Woodson?

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/6/2013) The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel suggests cornerback Charles Woodson is a candidate to be cut because of the $10 million-plus price tag he'll have in 2013. A decision could come before March 12. Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, doesn't believe his client is going anywhere. "They haven't said anything to the contrary," Poston said, "so we're assuming he's going to be back."
