Terrell Owens won't give it up

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/25/2014) Forty-year-old Terrell Owens hasn't played in a game since Dec. 19, 2010, but the five-time Pro Bowler isn't giving up on his goal of returning to the NFL. He's been out of the league since the Seahawks cut him in August 2012.

"No doubt there's not a question that I can still play," Owens said, per the Associated Press. "But perception, media portrayal is so negative. Anytime there's a rumor that a team is interested in bringing me in, there's all this media attention, and the negative things they have to say are more than the positives. It's not about what I can bring to them. It's about stuff I did 5, 10 years ago."

Owens acknowledged he's not likely to get another chance.

Terrell Owens angling for job with Patriots?

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/18/2013) Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens still has the itch to play football and is looking for his way back into the NFL, according to The Boston Globe.

"I just want to play because I know I’m still competitive," he said. "I can play at a productive level. And the thing is, the last two or three teams that I’ve played on, they brought up my age issue but there’s never really been a decline in my production. I know that there’s some character issues that teams are worried about that’s understandably noted, but I am a different person than I was 10 years ago."

One team Owens would like to play for is the Patriots.

"Tom Brady has a lot of young guys and I’m sure he could use some veteran help and I would love to play for a guy like Bill Belichick and play with a quarterback like Tom," Owens said. "They are going to try to win by [receiving] committee. Coach Belichick is a smart guy that has won with not necessarily a main receiver. Aside from when Randy [Moss] played there, they’ve really had a lot of guys to produce as a committee. That’s where I could possibly fit in. There’s a lot of teams I know that I could play for."

Jets interested in T.O.?

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/9/2012) Jets coach Rex Ryan was asked Tuesday whether or not New York would be interested in signing free agent receiver Terrell Owens. "You never say never to anything. We'll look at all options," Ryan said. Although, he believes there will be no changes at the wide receiver position heading into Week 6 against the Colts. "I would assume we would go with the same crew," he said.
