Brandon Stokley hangs it up after 15 seasons

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12/27/2013) Brandon Stokley, who was recently placed on injured reserve by the Ravens due to a concussion suffered Week 14 against the Vikings, has officially announced his retirement from professional football, the Denver Post reports on Thursday.

Stokley is one of just 18 receivers in NFL history to play at least 15 seasons. He had just one 1,000-yard season in 2004 with the Colts. He signed with the Ravens before the start of the season and had 13 receptions for 115 yards in six games before being placed on IR. He finished his career with 397 catches for 5,339 yards and 39 touchdowns over 152 games played.

"I'm glad I played this year because now I know I'm done," Stokley said. "Had I not played this year, I would have always felt I could have kept playing. I still know I can play, but my body just can't go through it anymore."
