News: Patriots WR Matthew Slater did not see many passes thrown his way in Week 1 against the Dolphins but he made his one catch count. He caught a 46 yards pass from QB Tom Brady in the 38-24 win. Slater was targeted two times.
Analysis: Both of Slater's targets on Monday were for big plays and he was able to come up with one of them. With all of the threats in the passing game for the Patriots, it's hard to believe that the 26-year-old is going to be a huge factor in the offense going forward but keep an eye on his progress just in case. Heading into Week 2 against the Chargers, however, continue to ignore Slater in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater left Week 7 against the Chargers with an ankle injury. Slater sustained the injury in the second half and did not return in the 23-20 win.
Analysis: Slater is buried on the depth chart and is used primarily on special teams. He can be ignored in all formats, when healthy.
News: Patriots QB Brian Hoyer and WR Matt Slater dressed for New England's Week 16 win against Jacksonville but failed to record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Hoyer and Slater have minimal Fantasy value and should not be used in any leagues in Week 17 at Houston.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater got a 6-yard catch in a Week 15 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Slater rarely touches the ball in the New England offense and has zero Fantasy value heading into Week 16 vs. Jacksonville.
News: Patriots TE Benjamin Watson, WR Isaiah Stanback, WR Matt Slater, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed for New England's Week 13 loss to Miami but didn't record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Watson is the only player in this group with Fantasy value, but he's horribly inconsistent and should be probably ignored along with all these other guys in Week 14 vs. Carolina.
News: New England WR Matt Slater was relegated to returning kicks in the Week 12 loss at New Orleans on Monday night. Slater did not touch the ball offensively in the game.
Analysis: Slater is just a special-teams guy for the Patriots and has no Fantasy value. The Patriots play at Miami in Week 13.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater, TE Chris Baker and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat in Week 11 against the Jets.
Analysis: Baker is about the only player on this list that will usually appear on the stat sheet. Still, he doesn't produce enough to start regularly in Fantasy. It's probably best to keep these players out of active Fantasy lineups for Week 12. Next up for the Patriots is the Saints.
News: Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, WR Matt Slater, WR Sam Aiken and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed for New England's Week 10 loss to the Colts but didn't record an offensive stat.
Analysis: Green-Ellis and Aiken have minimal potential as reserve options but will need players on the depth chart to falter before they see playing time. Keep them and Slater and Hoyer on waivers for now.
News: Patriots WR Brandon Tate, WR Matt Slater, TE Chris Baker and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed for New England's Week 9 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: All of these guys are backups and have no Fantasy value at this time. Ignore them in Week 10 at Indianapolis.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater failed to stat in a Week 7 rout of the Buccaneers in London.
Analysis: Slater is just a special-teams guy for the Patriots and has no Fantasy value. The Patriots are off in Week 8.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater and TE Michael Matthews both dressed but failed to record an offensive stat Week 6 against the Titans.
Analysis: We are not shocked Slater or Matthews failed to get on the stat sheet. It is a common thing for both players, who are reserves and contribute on special teams. Continue to ignore both players heading into Week 7 against the Bucs.
News: Patriots TE Chris Baker, WR Matt Slater, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, TE Michael Matthews, WR Sam Aiken and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed but failed to record an offensive stat Week 5 against the Broncos.
Analysis: Baker and Green-Ellis will occasional post a decent stat line, but they don't do it enough on a consistent basis to matter much in Fantasy. Most of these players have little to no Fantasy value. Keep them reserved heading into Week 6 against the Titans.
News: Patriots TE Michael Matthews, WR Matt Slater, TE Chris Baker and QB Brian Hoyer all dressed for New England's Week 4 win vs. the Ravens but failed to produce an offensive stat.

News: The Patriots have named their inactives for the Week 2 matchup with the Jets: WR Wes Welker, WR Matt Slater, LB Jerod Mayo, TE Michael Matthews and DB Terrence Wheatley are all out.
Analysis: Welker is obviously the monster name in this group, so make you sure get him active him in all formats. The other guys on this list were either named out earlier this week (Mayo, Slater and Wheatley) or have no Fantasy value.
News: Patriots WR Matt Slater (elbow) and CB Terrence Wheatley (knee) have been ruled out for Week 2 at the Jets.
Analysis: Both of these guys were inactive in Week 1 and have no Fantasy value at this time.
News: New England listed several inactives for Week 1's Monday night game against the Bills. The following are inactive for the game: WR Julian Edelman, WR Matt Slater, CB Terrence Wheatley, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis and DT Myron Pryor.
Analysis: Green-Ellis needs loads of injuries to happen before he's worth thinking about in Fantasy play. None of the players listed above have much Fantasy value. Keep them on waivers.
News: Patriots kick returner Matt Slater left the field during Thursday's preseason game against the Giants with his left arm in a sling after being tackled on the kickoff following the Giants' third touchdown.
Analysis: Slater's loss would effect the Patriots far more than Fantasy owners since he is pretty much just a special teams guru. It's still safe to ignore Slater in Fantasy.
News: Patriots WR Kelley Washington, WR Matt Slater and TE David Thomas failed to record a stat against the Cardinals in Week 16.
Analysis: None of these players have any Fantasy value, so consider to ignore them in Week 17 against Buffalo.
News: TE Ben Watson, WR Jabar Gaffney, WR Kelley Washington, WR Matt Slater, RB Heath Evans and TE David Thomas failed to record a stat against the Raiders in Week 15
Analysis: Watson is still owned in a few leagues, but the rest of them have no value in Fantasy, so leave them on waivers.
News: New England had several players go without stats in Week 14's win over Seattle. Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis was active but had no carries. The same fate went for WR Matt Slater and TE Tyson Devree.
Analysis: With Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk both healthy, Green-Ellis is on the outside looking right now for the Patriots and is certainly not worth starting in Week 15 at Oakland. Slater and Devree have no Fantasy value at this time.
News: New England WR Matt Slater returned kicks in Week 13's loss to the Steelers. He returned two kicks for a seven yard average and fumbled once.
Analysis: Slater has zero catches this year. He's not recommended in Fantasy at this time and should be left on waivers in Week 14 at Seattle.
News: Patriots TE Sam Aiken, WR Kelley Washington, WR Matt Slater, RB Heath Evans, TE David Thomas and QB Kevin O'Connell all dressed for New England's Week 12 win at Miami but did not record an offensive statistic.

News: New England plays at Indianapolis on Sunday night and have listed the following players as being inactive for the game: LB Eric Alexander, QB Matt Gutierrez (3rd QB), WR Matt Slater, DB Lewis Sanders and LB Shawn Crable.
Analysis: None of these players ever does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Patriots have named the inactives for their Week 8 game vs. St. Louis. Not in uniform will be: WR Matt Slater (coach's decision), DB Lewis Sanders (hamstring), RB LaMont Jordan (calf), RB Sammy Morris (coach's decision), LB Eric Alexander (hamstring) and DE Jarvis Green (ankle).
Analysis: Morris and Jordan were both listed as doubtful, so their absence isn't a surprise by any means. The other guys have zero Fantasy value.
