Jo-Lonn Dunbar returns to Rams on two-year deal

(3/13/2014) Free-agent linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar struggled through a disappointing season in 2013, playing in just 12 games following a suspension for performance enhancing drugs. The Rams still felt strongly enough about the six-year pro to bring him back on a two-year deal worth up to $3.5 million, according to NFL.com Thursday.

Coming off the first 100-tackle season of his career, Dunbar struggled to produce after returning from suspension. He finished with 39 tackles and no sacks or interceptions in 12 games.

(10/13/2013) Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, who missed the first four games of the season due to a suspension, played a big role for the first time Sunday in a 38-13 win over the Texans in Week 6.

Dunbar finished second on the team with nine tackles -- five solo. Those were the only stats he recorded in the win.

(10/1/2013) Linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, whose four-game suspension is over, has agreed to re-sign with the Rams pending a physical, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Dunbar made 157 tackles last season and could play immediately depending on the status of linebacker Will Witherspoon, who has a hamstring injury.

(9/3/2013) In a surprising move, the Rams released linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, according to Howard Balzer on Twitter. Dunbar made 116 tackles while starting every game last season, but got suspended for the first four games of 2013 for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

(8/31/2013) The Rams officially finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by placing linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar and running back Isaiah Pead on the reserve/suspended list by the NFL.

St. Louis also released offensive lineman Ryan Lee with an injury settlement and placed tackle Ty Nsekhe on the waived/injured list.

In addition, the Rams waived the following 19 players from the roster: wide receiver Emory Blake, defensive end Mason Brodine, linebacker Sammy Brown, quarterback Austin Davis, safety Cody Davis, defensive tackle Garrett Goebel, safety Rashard Hall, tackle Sean Hooey, linebacker Josh Hull, receiver Nick Johnson, tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen, cornerback Andre Martin, tight end Zach Potter, fullback Eric Stevens, cornerback Drew Thomas, receiver Justin Veltung, tackle D.J. Young, defensive end R.J. Washington, and cornerback Darren Woodard.

(12/30/2012) Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar had a big performance in the Week 17 regular-season finale at Seattle Sunday. Dunbar recorded 11 tackles in the losing effort to lead the team. He also had one of the six sacks against quarterback Russell Wilson in the game. Four of his 11 tackles were of the solo variety.
