Bills K Dan Carpenter scores six points vs. Raiders

(8:09 pm ET) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter made his only field-goal attempt and added three extra points in his team's 26-24 loss to the Raiders in Week 16.

Carpenter closed out the first half by nailing a 54-yard kick, giving him six makes in eight attempts of at least 50 yards this season. He's made 33 of his 37 field-goal attempts on the season. The kicker has a trip to New England on tap for Week 17.


C.J. Spiller among Bills probables active vs. Raiders

(3:20 pm ET) Bills running back C.J. Spiller (shoulder) is among the team's players listed as probable who are active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Spiller is making his return from injured reserve and will be playing in his first game since Week 7. Also active after being listed as probable are safeties Da'Norris Searcy (hamstring) and Duke Williams (concussion), cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder), defensive end Jarius Wynn (knee), running back Anthony Dixon (chest), wide receiver Marcus Thigpen (foot) and kicker Dan Carpenter (groin).

The Bills are a 6 1/2-point favorite for Sunday's road matchup with the Raiders.

The Bills did not have any players listed as questionable, doubtful or out.

(12/14/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter was kept busy with four field goals during Sunday's victory over the Packers in Week 15.

Carpenter converted a 27-yard kick in the second quarter, a 51-yard and 35-yard kick in the third quarter and a 48-yarder in the fourth. He finished 4 for 4 with an extra point in 21-13 win. He has converted 32 of 36 field goal attempts on the year.

(12/14/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter (groin) was ruled as active for Sunday's game against Green Bay in Week 15. Carpenter was never in danger of missing game action, as he was listed as probable leading up to Sunday.

Carpenter has converted 28 of 32 field goal attempts this season. Nine of his 28 made kicks have come from 40-plus yards.

Searcy, who left Week 14 against the Broncos and was unable to return, has 47 tackles and three interceptions this year in Buffalo. 

Defensive end Jarius Wynn (knee) is listed as questionable while kicker Dan Carpenter (groin) and defensive tackle Stefan Charles (quad) are probable.

(11/30/2014) Bills placekicker Dan Carpenter entered play Sunday with a groin issue that had him listed as probable, but one could not tell by the way he kicked the ball.

Carpenter nailed four field goals in five attempts - all in the second half - to key a victory. He was true from 49 yards in the third quarter and 34, 34 and 35 in the fourth. He was also perfect on two extra point tries.

(11/14/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter made three of his four field-goal attempts in his team's 22-9 loss to the Dolphins Saturday.

Carpenter managed to connect on field goals of 33, 21 and 46 yards to put his team out to a 9-3 lead early in the third quarter, but the game got away from the Bills at that point, with the Dolphins scoring 19 unanswered points on two touchdowns, a field goal and a safety. Carpenter's miss came on a 47-yard attempt early in the fourth quarter that sailed wide left. His next matchup comes against the Jets in Week 12.

(10/26/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter connected on field-goal attempts of 53, 36 and 29 yards while adding four extra points in his team's 43-23 win over the Jets in Week 8.

Despite his excellence on field-goal duty in the win, it wasn't a perfect day for Carpenter, who had one of his five extra-point attempts hit the left upright. It was just his second miss in 203 career extra-point attempts, with his other coming back in 2009. He's 17 for 19 on field goals this season going into a Week 9 bye.

(10/19/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter made his only field goal attempt and added two extra points in his team's 17-16 win over the Vikings in Week 7.

Carpenter knocked a 31-yard field goal through the uprights in the second half and later put his team ahead by nailing an extra point with one second left in the game. He's managed one field goal or less in four of the team's last five games but still has made 14 of his 16 attempts on the season. Carpenter is set for a trip to face the Jets in Week 8.

Carpenter has been held to less than 10 points in four straight games after finishing with at least 11 points in his first two games. The Bills are back in action Week 7 vs. Minnesota.

(10/5/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter hit three of his four field-goal attempts Sunday, none bigger than his 58-yard game-winner with four seconds remaining in his team's 17-14 victory over the Lions in Week 5.

Carpenter clanked a 50-yard attempt off the left upright early in the third quarter but managed to hit from 25 and 45 yards out in addition to his booming game-winner. It's the third time in five games he's managed to deliver at least three field goals, and he's made 13 of his 15 attempts this season. The 3-2 Bills host the Patriots in Week 6.

Carpenter delivered eight field goals over his first two games but has been held to just two attempts over the last two weeks. He'll face favorable conditions when the Bills travel to Detroit to play indoors in Week 5.

(9/23/2014) In Jamey Eisenberg's Week 4 waiver-wire column, Chargers kicker Nick Novak, Bills kicker Dan Carpenter, and Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham are named as the top streaming options for this week's set of games.

Novak has connected on all six of his field-goal attempts this season, and gets to face the Jaguars Sunday. Carpenter faces the Texans having made a league-high nine field goals in 10 tries. Suisham has yet to miss on eight tries, and is 4 for 4 from 40 yards heading into Sunday against the Buccaneers.

Carpenter attempted six field goals, as the Bills' offense stumbled often in the red zone. He connected from 27, 27 and 31 yards in the first half, and added field goals of 32 and 38 yards in the second half, while nailing his two extra-point attempts.

Carpenter is eight for nine on field goals this season.

(9/7/2014) Bills kicker Dan Carpenter hit all three of his field-goal attempts and added two extra points in his team's 23-20 overtime win over the Bears in Week 1.

Carpenter delivered a 50-yard field goal in the second quarter to put his team up three points, and his 33-yarder in the fourth quarter did the same. While the team was unable to hang onto the lead in regulation, Carpenter ended the game with a 27-yarder in overtime. He'll square off with the Dolphins in Week 2.
