Bears enter Week 1 relatively healthy

(9/5/2014) The Bears announced their final injury report for Sunday's season opener at home against the Bills.

Safety Chris Conte was cleared from a concussion and was a full participant in practice for the second straight day. He's listed as probable for Week 1. Offensive lineman Brian De La Puente was another full participant in practice Friday and was deemed probable as well. Tony Fiammetta is questionable with a sore hamstring.

(9/3/2014) Bears quarterback David Fales is listed as "out" on the team's practice report Wednesday with a right shoulder injury. Safety Chris Conte (concussion), center Brian De La Puente (knee) and fullback Tony Fiammetta (hamstring) were limited participants in practice.

(8/9/2014) Bears center Brian De La Puente was forced out of Friday's preseason opener against the Eagles with an apparent leg injury. De La Puente got his left leg bent backwards on a play, walked off the field under his own power and was unable to return.

(4/6/2014) Newly-signed Bears center Brian De La Puente is expected to back up Roberto Garza this season and potentially succeed him in 2015, reports the Chicago Tribune. De La Puente turns 29 next month and started the past three seasons for New Orleans.

Garza, 35, is a team captain who returned to the Bears on a one-year deal.

"I feel like I can learn a lot from Roberto to take my game to the next level,” De La Puente told the paper. “I am just excited to get up there and get working."
