Report: Broncos cut safety Boyett from practice squad

(10/23/2014) The Broncos have parted ways with safety John Boyett, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Boyett was arrested for misdemeanor battery, and the team quickly decided to part ways with him after looking into the situation. Boyett was on the team's practice squad, and did not appear with the club this season.

(10/22/2014) Broncos practice squad safety John Boyett was arrested early Wednesday on a charge of third degree assault, the Denver Post reports.

"We are disappointed to learn of the matter involving John Boyett and are in the process of gathering more information," the Broncos told the Post.

Boyett was arrested on charges of disorderly public intoxication on Sept. 2 of last year and waived by the Colts the next day. He signed with the Broncos last November.

(8/27/2013) The Colts made three roster moves Tuesday. They waived-injured receiver Nathan Palmer (knee), placed safety John Boyett (knee) on the reserve/non-football injury list and moved linebacker Josh McNary to exempt status.

If Palmer clears waivers, then he will be placed on injured reserve. McNary's exemption is under the reserve/military rules where the player reported after June 1, 2013 and has not played in any preseason games.
