by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/6/2013) Lions wide receiver Pat Edwards caught two passes for 16 yards in Sunday's 22-9 loss to the Packers. Edwards was one of eight players to catch a pass; the team was playing without Calvin Johnson, who was declared inactive with a knee injury prior to the game.

Edwards missed Weeks 3 and 4 with an ankle injury. He now has 46 total yards on the season.

The Lions face the Browns in Week 6.

Three Lions considered probable for Packers game

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Pat Edwards not in danger despite Lions signing receiver

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/4/2013) Lions wide receiver Pat Edwards is not in danger of losing time after the team signed Kevin Ogletree, according to mlive.com.

Offensive coordinator Scott Lineham said signing Ogletree was done to shore up the depth at the position, and wasn't necessarily an indictment of Edwards' play. Edwards' biggest issue has been "availability" according to Linehan. Edwards has been limited by a high ankle sprain that he suffered during Week 2.

Edwards has caught 3 balls for 30 yards.

Pat Edwards an intriguing deep Week 5 option

by Nando Di Fino | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/3/2013) On any other team, in any other week, Lions receiver Pat Edwards would be an afterthought. But with the Lions being a pass-happy team without their No. 2 wide receiver (Nate Burleson), there's a bit of a void in the receiving corps that needs to be filled.

Edwards was inactive Week 4, nursing an ankle injury. He's been probable this week with the same ailment. And he's played just two games this season, catching three passes for 30 yards.

However, Ryan Broyles is coming off knee surgery and still getting acclimated, Brandon Pettigrew is a bit of an erratic wildcard, and Kris Durham doesn't have much of a track record to go on. Edwards' Week 5 opponent, the Packers, have allowed the third-most Fantasy points and seventh-most receiving yards per game.

This isn't for 12-team leagues looking to fill a bye week, but Fantasy players in 18-team formats in desperate need of a wide receiver might want to consider the upside of Edwards. It's a huge risk -- but it's a calculated one, based on the matchup and set of circumstances.

Pat Edwards back at practice

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/2/2013) Lions receiver Pat Edwards is practicing Wednesday after missing Week 4 with an ankle injury, reports the Detroit News. Edwards was replaced by Kris Durham, who caught three passes for a team-high 58 yards.

Lions wide receivers unable to go

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(9/29/2013) Lions wide receivers Nate Burleson and Pat Edwards are inactive Week 4 against the Bears.

Burleson's status shouldn't come as a surprise, as he was ruled out entering Sunday. Edwards was doubtful with an ankle issue.

Pat Edwards expected to miss second game

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/27/2013) Lions wide receiver Pat Edwards (ankle) is likely to miss his second straight game in Week 4 against the Bears, as he is officially listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report. Edwards was limited in practice throughout the week, and will likely be a game-time decision Sunday.

Pat Edwards practicing Wednesday

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/25/2013) Lions receiver Pat Edwards, who missed Week 3 with an ankle injury, is practicing Wednesday. Edwards has three catches for 30 yards in two games but could see a bigger role with Nate Burleson sidelined.

Lions trying to trade for wide receiver

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/24/2013) With Nate Burleson about to undergo surgery for a broken arm, the Lions are actively trying to trade for a wide receiver, according to the team's website. Detroit talked to "multiple teams" Tuesday morning, the report said.

Lions wideout Pat Edwards is dealing with an ankle injury, and receiver Ryan Broyles is still not ready for a full workload following knee surgery. That leaves very little behind Calvin Johnson.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Pat Edwards silent in start

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/8/2013) Lions wide receiver Pat Edwards earned the start but did little with it in Week 1 against the Vikings Sunday.

Edwards, who started opposite Calvin Johnson, brought in just three passes for 30 yards in the game. He was only targeted three times by Matthew Stafford, in a 34-24 win.

The Lions head to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in Week 2.

Patrick Edwards remains Lions' No. 2 receiver

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/1/2013) Second-year wideout Pat Edwards "will see plenty of playing time outside opposite Calvin Johnson," assuming the Lions don't find the game-changing receiver they're looking for, reports the Detroit Free Press.

"Edwards has deep speed, though his seven catches for 49 yards this preseason hardly turned heads," the report said. "He had a couple drops and has to get off the line better, but should have opportunities with Johnson on the field."

The paper said Nate Burleson will remain in the slot, while Ryan Broyles has been slowed in his return from knee surgery.

Fellow Lions receiver continues to tout Pat Edwards

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8/29/2013) Lions receiver Nate Burleson said earlier in the offseason he expected fellow receiver Pat Edwards to be a playmaker for Detroit, and he's not backing down from his prediction.

"Pat is primed to be a star number two receiver in this league, right now," Burleson said, per MLive.com. "Not only was his resume strong from college, but I saw something on the field that a lot of guys don't have. That's great speed, good hands and he's a really strong route runner."

Edwards' numbers don't stand out on the stat sheet, totaling four catches for 16 yards in three games. Though, Edwards said his rapport with quarterback Matthew Stafford is building.

"I'm feeling like the timing, the chemistry is getting better," Edwards said. "That all adds up when you get more and more reps and gain (Stafford's) trust."

Burleson said Edwards has a chance to emerge when Calvin Johnson (knee) rejoins the lineup.

"When Calvin comes back, defenses look a little bit different," Burleson said. "(Edwards) might not be facing as many zones. He's going to be put in position where the defenses he faces are going to be simplified. I dare any DB in the league to guard this guy one-on-one with the speed he has."

Lions' receivers struggle without Calvin Johnson

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(8/23/2013) With Calvin Johnson out with a knee injury, Nate Burleson and Pat Edwards received the starting nods at receiver for the Lions in Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots.

Neither receiver made much of an impact, as they struggled to connect with quarterback Matthew Stafford. Burleson caught just one of three passes thrown his way for 6 yards, and Edwards finished with just 6 yards on one reception as well.
