News: The Seattle Seahawks turned to a familiar name to try and add depth at quarterback, signing former practice squad QB Josh Portis to a two-year contract on Wednesday.
Analysis: Portis may end up quarterbacking the practice squad again next season. We doubt he's going to see the field for Seattle. He has low-end Fantasy value in all leagues.
News: Seattle coach Pete Carroll continues to praise undrafted rookie QB Josh Portis during the early part of training camp. Carroll, who was the former coach at Southern California, noted hes seen Portis play since he was in high school in Los Angeles. He added Portis still has a lot to learn, but thinks he could have a future with the Seahawks.
Analysis: Portis played with two different schools, including the University of Florida, before transferring to Division II California University of Pennsylvania. The 24-year-old owns the school records in passing yards (3,421) and touchdowns (36), but will likely serve as Seattle's No. 3 QB this season -- if he makes the team. Fantasy owners should ignore him in upcoming drafts.
