Lions LT Riley Reiff in danger of sitting out Week 12

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/25/2014) Lions starting left tackle Riley Reiff was unable to practice Tuesday and could be in danger of missing Thursday's clash against Chicago, per the Detroit Free-Press. Reiff hyperextended his left knee on the first offensive snap of Sunday's loss to New England. He'll likely need to practice Wednesday in order to play on Thanksgiving Day.

"He's a tough guy," coach Jim Caldwell said. "He's tough, he's durable, he's typically been able to battle through a lot. When you play that position, literally, there's contact on every play. And those guys get accustomed to being uncomfortable, and so until the point where it gets to be something that obviously is out of his control, I think he usually finds a way to battle through."

Reiff left Week 12 against New England in the first quarter with a knee injury. According to ESPN, Caldwell believes the injury is not expected to be a long-term issue.

Riley Reiff adds 10 pounds of muscle

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/24/2013) Lions offensive tackle Riley Reiff has added 10 pounds of muscle to his frame this offseason in hopes of protecting quarterback Matthew Stafford's blind side. Reiff is moving to left tackle after playing on the right side for most of last season.

"Riley's doing great," Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan told the official team website during minicamp. "When we drafted him that was a role we envisioned for him. He's done a great job there and he's making progress every day. I hope he keeps making those steps every day of practice come training camp. We feel really, really confident in his ability to do a great job for us."

Reiff is one of three new starters on the Lions' offensive line.
