Broncos DST shows off new look

(9/8/2014) The revamped Broncos DST pressured Colts quarterback Andrew Luck into some mistakes Week 1. The unit hit Luck six times, getting 1.5 sacks from defensive end DeMarcus Ware and another sack from linebacker Nate Irving.

Safety Rahim Moore intercepted a pair of deflected passes. Linebacker Brandon Marshall, replacing the injured Danny Trevathan, made a game-high 10 tackles, two for loss, and broke up a pass. Denver stuffed Luck on a 4th-and-goal sneak attempt from the 1.

The rejuvenated Broncos DST gets a juicy matchup Week 2 when the Chiefs visit Denver.


Rahim Moore picks off a pair

(9/8/2014) Broncos safety Rahim Moore intercepted two deflected passes in the Week 1 win over the Colts.

Moore, who had two interceptions all of last season, got his first pick in the first quarter when Andrew Luck overthrew tight end Dwayne Allen and corner Aqib Talib tipped it. In the fourth quarter, tight end Coby Fleener couldn't handle a high throw from Luck and Moore dove for the interception.

Moore added three tackles. He'll play the Chiefs in Week 2.


Rahim Moore nearing 100 percent

(3/16/2014) Broncos safety Rahim Moore, who underwent leg surgery in November, is almost back to 100 percent, general manager John Elway said. Moore is entering the final year of his contract. He played in 10 games last season, making 44 tackles and two interceptions.

(1/6/2014) The Broncos were without three defensive players as they returned to practice Monday ahead of Sunday's divisional playoff game vs. San Diego, reports the Denver Post. Defensive ends Derek Wolfe and Shaun Phillips and safety Rahim Moore were absent.

Wolfe has practiced twice since suffering seizure-like symptoms in late November. Moore (leg) was eligible to return to practice last week, but has not done so, the report said. No word yet on the reason for Phillips' absence.

Moore had been placed on IR with designation to return, but this week was the last opportunity for the team to activate him. He did not return to practice.


Rahim Moore suffers undisclosed setback

(12/28/2013) Broncos defensive back Rahim Moore suffered a setback in his recovery from a leg injury, the Denver Post reported Friday. According to the report, Moore's setback has kept him from even being able to run yet, putting his chances of coming off injured reserve at some point this season at risk.

Moore is not eligible to return until the AFC Championship game, at the earliest.

Moore's only hope of returning this season are in the playoffs. He underwent leg surgery Tuesday.

(10/27/2013) Broncos defensive back Rahim Moore and Chris Harris and linebacker Shaun Phillips each came down with an interception during Sunday's win over the Redskins in Week 8.

Moore finished the game with six total tackles and one pass defended. Harris had three total tackles and two passes defended while Phillips posted only one tackle in a 45-21 victory.

Broncos DST feasts on Eli Manning

(9/15/2013) The Broncos DST enjoyed itself against the Giants, picking off Eli Manning four times and getting Trindon Holliday's 81-yard punt return for a touchdown. Chris Harris, Tony Carter, Rahim Moore and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie all had interceptions, and linebacker Danny Trevathan added a sack.

Denver allowed 23 rushing yards on 19 carries, a paltry 1.2 yards per rush, and forced Manning into difficult down-and-distance situations.

The Broncos DST has another tasty matchup in Week 3 when the Raiders visit on Monday Night Football.

(11/11/2012) Denver defensive back Rahim Moore intercepted a Cam Newton pass in the Week 10 win over Carolina Sunday. Moore returned the interception 23 yards but did not score. He finished with four tackles in the game and three of them were solo tackles.
