Lions keep all probables active in Week 5

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10/5/2014) All of the Lions listed as probable on Friday's final injury report are active for Week 5's matchup with the Bills, including defensive tackle Nick Fairley (knee), wide receiver Golden Tate (hamstring), safety Don Carey (hamstring), defensive end Devin Taylor (knee) and tackle LaAdrian Waddle (calf).

Fairley should be good to go for his regular role, which includes playing about half of the team's defensive snaps. He recorded his first sack of the season in Week 4.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/3/2014) The Lions have listed four players as probable for Week 5.

Don Carey, Nick Fairley, Devin Taylor and LaAdrian Waddle should all go during the contest. All four players were able to practice in full Friday.

Lions ready to lean on Devin Taylor to replace Jason Jones

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/23/2013) Lions coach Jim Schwartz said rookie Devin Taylor will be asked to play a bigger role on defense after the team lost starting defensive end Jason Jones to a season-ending knee injury Sunday against the Redskins.

"We've got a lot of different ways (to replace Jones) and I think I said yesterday, we're going to lean on Devin Taylor, also there," Schwartz said at his Monday press conference, per MLive.com. "A lot of the same things we like about Jason, we like in Devin. He played well at times in preseason, but he needs to grow up quickly."

Taylor has been active for just one of three games. He played three snaps Week 2 against the Cardinals and had no stats.

"Taylor has shown some really good things," Schwartz said immediately after the Lions' win over the Redskins. "He's only been active for one game, but it will be his time to step up."
