Randy Bullock closes season strong

(12/29/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock ended a rough rookie season by nailing his lone try in a 16-10 loss to the Titans in Week 17. Bullock connected from 19 yards out, and ultimately finishes the season having made each of his attempts over the last seven games.

Despite the long streak to end the season, Bullock connected on just 74.3 percent of his field-goal attempts in his rookie season.

(12/22/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock connected on both of his field goal attempts -- from 45 and 35 yards out -- in Sunday's 37-13 loss to the Broncos. 

Bullock also made his only extra-point attempt. 

The Texans face the Titans in Week 17. 


Quiet day for Randy Bullock

(12/15/2013) On a day when the Texans couldn't get anything going offensively Week 15 at Indianapolis, kicker Randy Bullock paid the price, scoring just three points. They came on a 49-yard field goal in the first quarter.

It was just the third time this season that he scored fewer than six points in a game and the first time in nine games. The Texans host the Broncos in Week 16.

(12/6/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock took care of business in Week 14, as he connected on two field goals in a 27-20 loss to the Jaguars.  Bullock connected from 34 and 31 yards, both of which came after halftime, and he added two successful points after touchdowns.

Bullock has been solid recently, connecting on all eight of his field-goal attempts over the last four games. He is still just 22 of 31 heading into Week 15 against the Colts, the third-worst mark in the league.

(12/1/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock made one field goal and four extra points during a 34-31 loss Week 13 vs. New England. Bullock made a 43-yard field goal in the first quarter Sunday, giving Houston a 10-0 lead at the time.

Bullock hasn't finished with less than six points in seven straight games and hasn't missed a field goal in his last three games. The Texans are back in action Thursday at Jacksonville (Week 14).

(11/24/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock accounted for his team's only points with two field goals during a 13-6 loss Week 12 vs. Jacksonville. Bullock made a 49-yard field goal in the second quarter and a 20-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Bullock has managed at least six points in six straight games and has made five field goals in the last two games. The Texans are back in action Week 12 vs. New England.

(11/17/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock hit all three of his field goal tries in Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Raiders. Bullock connected from 51, 26, and 30 yards, as well as successfully converting two extra-point tries. 

The Texans face the Jaguars in Week 12.

(11/10/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock went one-for-two on field goal attempts against the Cardinals Week 10.

Bullock was able to hit a 48 yard field goal in the second quarter, but had one blocked with less than a minute remaining before half. Bullock did manage to nail all three of his extra point attempts. 

He'll take on the Raiders Week 11.

(11/4/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock cost his team dearly in Week 9. He missed three field goals in the 27-24 loss to the Colts.

Bullock missed a 49-yarder in the second quarter and a 43-yarder in the fourth. With a chance to send the game to overtime, Bullock was wide left on a 54-yard try. Bullock, who converted a 43-yarder, is just 13 of 20 this season.

He'll play at Arizona in Week 10.

Bullock hit all three field goal attempts, including a 47-yarder with four minutes left in the game that cut the deficit to 17-16. He also drilled a 48-yarder to open the scoring and a 21-yarder in third quarter.

(10/13/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock had a solid performance in Week 6 against the Rams, in a 38-13 loss.

Bullock accounted for more than half of the team's points, scoring seven on two field goals and an extra point. Bullock was good from 35 and 20 yards, both of which came in the second quarter.

Bullock is now 8 for 13 on field-goal attempts for the season, but 8 for 9 in the last four games.

(9/22/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock was much improved in Week 3 against the Ravens, as he nailed all of his field-goal tries in a 30-9 win. Bullock was good from 27, 29 and 47 yards, while accounting for all of the team's scoring.

Bullock made up for a poor showing in the first two games of the season, in which he made just 1 of 5 attempts.

(9/15/2013) Texans kicker Randy Bullock had a game to forget Week 2 vs. Tennessee. Bullock missed all three of his field-goal attempts, including a potential game winner as time expired, but Houston overcame Bullock's kicking woes, winning 30-24 in overtime.

Bullock missed a pair of 50-yard field goals in the first half before his 46-yard field-goal attempt at the end of regulation hit the left upright. Bullock is now 1 for 5 on field goals, with three of his misses coming from 50-plus yards. Bullock did make both of his extra-point attempts Sunday.

"He's got to be a pro and bounce back," coach Gary Kubiak said. "He's our kicker and we have confidence in him."

Houston will be back in action Week 3 at Baltimore.

Bullock, who converted all four of his PATs, faces the Titans at home in Week 2.

(8/28/2013) After missing the 2012 season with a torn groin muscle, Texans kicker Randy Bullock has put together a productive preseason. He leads the Texans with 26 points through three preseason games, converting 6 of 7 field goals with a long of 55 yards.

"I didn’t think I hit the 55-yarder as good as I could have, but I still had plenty of leg," Bullock said, per The Houston Chronicle. "(The preseason) has gone well. I’m healthy. I’ve worked hard with the training staff. I’m very comfortable. If you can do it in practice, you can do it in a game. That’s the mindset I try to have."

Although he missed his rookie season, Texans coach Gary Kubiak had no problems handing the placekicking duties to Bullock this summer.

"He's gaining confidence is what he's doing," Kubiak said, per the San Antonio Express-News. "I asked him before we went out (Sunday against the Saints), 'How are you? Are you ready to go?' And, boy, did he step up. I'm really excited to see his progress."
