News: The Saints announced Tuesday night they had signed defensive tackle Alex Daniels and waived cornerback Cord Parks. Daniels, 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds, began his career as an undrafted free agent with Oakland in 2010. He was on the Dallas practice roster later that year and spent two weeks in 2011 on the practice roster of the New York Giants, playing fullback. Parks played in two games with St. Louis in 2009, making one tackle. He was on Seattle's practice roster in 2010 and attended Minnesota's training camp in 2011.
Analysis: Neither one of these guys is expected to put up quality stats on a consistent basis. Leave both off of Fantasy rosters.
News: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Cowboys made some roster moves on Wednesday, including the release of DE/LB Alex Daniels and DB Ross Weaver. Both players have been sidelined by ankle injuries.
Analysis: Daniels didn't appear in a single game in 2010, occupying a spot on the practice squad for the most part. Fantasy owners should not consider him to be much of an option even if he latches on to another team.
News: The Cowboys re-signed the following practice squad players to futures contracts on Monday. TE Jason Pociask, DE Alex Daniels, DB Ross Weaver, WR Troy Bergeron, WR Jeff Moturi and LB Kevin Smith.
Analysis: None of these players are expected to make much of a Fantasy impact in 2011, so ignore them in drafts come August.
News: The Cowboys released DE Jimmy Saddler-McQueen on Monday. The club signed safety Andrew Sendejo to the active roster from their practice squad and signed DL Alex Daniels back to their practice squad. Saddler-McQueen signed with the club on November 10 and made his NFL debut at New York on Nov. 14 but did not record any stats. He was inactive the next two games. Sendejo signed to the clubs practice squad on November 24.. He played the 2010 season with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL after finishing his collegiate career at Rice. He recorded 318 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, two sacks, seven forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 14 pass breakups and nine interceptions from 2006-09 with the Owls. Daniels originally signed to the clubs practice squad on October 5 and re-joins the club after being released on November 24.
Analysis: Daniels has minimal Fantasy value in all leagues. Ignore him for the rest of the 2010 season barring a miraculous change of events for the Dallas defensive line.
News: The Cowboys signed FB Alex Daniels to their practice squad on Tuesday.
Analysis: Daniels, a converted defensive lineman, will need a miracle to pick up even a single Fantasy point this season, so continue to ignore him.
News: Raiders DE Jay Richardson (knee), DE Alex Daniels (groin) and CB Joey Thomas (concussion), who had been waived/injured Saturday, were placed on IR Sunday, the team announced on its website on Sunday.
Analysis: The rookie from Cincinnati was trying to make the Raiders' roster before getting injured. He had no Fantasy appeal and can still be ignored.
