RB Matt Asiata, WR Greg Jennings among Vikes ready to go

(12/28/2014) Vikings running back Matt Asiata (foot) and wideout Greg Jennings (hamstring) are active for the game against Chicago after being listed as probable. They're among a slew of probables suiting up for Minnesota.

The list includes safety Robert Blanton (ankle), safety Antone Exum (knee), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee), tight end Chase Ford (foot), offensive tackle Michael Harris (foot), guard Charlie Johnson (ankle) and safety Andrew Sendejo (thumb). Wideout Jarius Wright is active after being questionable with a back injury.


Chad Greenway, Kyle Rudolph questionable for Vikings in Week 17

(12/26/2014) Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway (knee) and tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle) are listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Bears. Greenway was unable to practice all week while Rudolph only practiced Friday on a limited basis. 

Wide receiver Jarius Wright (back) is also listed as questionable.

Rookie linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) and Brandon Watts (hamstring) have been ruled out. 

Guard Charlie Johnson (ankle), Greg Jennings (hamstring), Antone Exum (knee), Mike Harris (foot), Chase Ford (foot), Robert Blanton (ankle), Andrew Sendejo (thumb), Sharrif Floyd (knee) and Matt Asiata (foot) are all listed as probable.

The Vikings are currently 6-point favorites against Chicago Sunday.

(12/19/2014) The Vikings have ruled out linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) and guard Charlie Johnson (ankle) out for Sunday's contest against Miami, per the team's final injury report. Tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle, knee) was deemed as doubtful, while safety Robert Blanton (ankle, knee) was deemed as questionable.

Meanwhile, running back Matt Asiata (foot), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee), linebacker Chad Greenway (non-injury related), wide receiver Greg Jennings (hamstring), safety Andrew Sendejo (thumb), defensive end Brian Robison (ankle), defensive tackle Linval Joseph (illness) and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (wrist).


Vikings list inactives for Week 15

(12/14/2014) The Vikings have listed CB Robert Blanton, FB Zach Line, LB Anthony Barr, OL Carter Bykowski, OL David Yankey, DT Sharrif Floyd and OL Charlie Johnson as inactive Week 15 against the Lions. 

Barr, Blanton and Floyd had already been ruled out prior to Sunday. All three players are dealing with knee injuries. Blanton also tweaked his akle. The other four players listed are considered healthy scratches.

(12/12/2014) The Vikings have ruled safety Robert Blanton (ankle, knee), guard Charlie Johnson (ankle), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee) and linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (hamstring) was the only player listed as questionable on Minnesota's final injury report. Meanwhile, fullback Jerome Felton (neck), safety Harrison Smith (shoulder), defensive end Everson Griffen (back) and cornerback Jabari Price (hamstring) were all deemed probable for Week 15.


Vikings S Robert Blanton undergoes MRI for leg injury

(12/8/2014) Vikings starting safety Robert Blanton underwent an MRI on his left leg Monday after he got hurt tackling Jets receiver Eric Decker in overtime Sunday, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Coach Mike Zimmer did not have specifics on the injury but told the paper, "I don't think it's real serious."

Blanton has played in every game, making 95 tackles and an interception.

(5/8/2012) The Vikings spent five of 10 draft picks on defense, including a first-round pick on Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith. In addition, the Vikings spent two picks on cornerbacks in Central Florida's Josh Robinson and Notre Dame's Robert Blanton along with two picks toward the front of the defense in N.C. State linebacker Audie Cole and Cal defensive end Trevor Guyton.
