Tavon Austin highlights Rams' inactives in Week 3

(9/21/2014) Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin (knee) is inactive after being listed as questionable on the team's final Week 3 injury report.

Austin was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday before returning in a limited fashion Friday, but he was unable to get cleared to face the Cowboys. Tight end Cory Harkey (knee) and quarterback Shaun Hill (thigh) were also listed as questionable but are active for Sunday's game.

Other Rams inactives for Week 3 include cornerbacks Trumaine Johnson and Brandon McGee, offensive lineman Barrett Jones, quarterback Case Keenum, running back Tre Mason and safety Maurice Alexander.

Johnson was ruled out of Week 1 competition after not practicing all week. The Rams have also listed the following players as inactive for Week 1 against the Vikings: quarterback Case Keenum, running back Tre Mason, safety Maurice Alexander, offensive lineman Barrett Jones (back), tight end Alex Bayer and defensive lineman Ethan Westbrooks.

Defensive end Eugene Sims, who was questionable with a knee issue going into Sunday, is active.

(9/5/2014) The Rams have six players on the final injury report before Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Vikings. Guard Barrett Jones (back) and cornerback Trumaine Johnson (knee) were already ruled out.

Deemed probable for Week 1 were tackle Jake Long (knee), defensive end William Hayes (chest) and linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (shoulder). The only player deemed questionable on the list was defensive end Eugene Sims (knee).

(11/24/2013) Rams safety Trumaine Johnson left the team's Week 12 matchup against the Bears with a head injury suffered in the third quarter. Johnson was able to walk off the field after waving off a stretcher, but he did not return. 

Johnson had four tackles and a forced fumble at the time of his injury.

(11/11/2013) Rams second-year cornerback Trumaine Johnson had his first interception Sunday at Indianapolis since recording a pick in the season opener. He now needs just one more interception to set a new career high.

Johnson, who had four tackles (three solo), also tied his career high in pass deflections with eight as he had three pass defenses Week 10. Johnson already has a career high in tackles with 39 (32 solo).

(10/5/2013) Rams coach Jeff Fisher is hoping that cornerback Trumaine Johnson, who has missed all week of practice due to an illness, will be able to play Sunday Week 5 against Jacksonville, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

"It’s going to be a challenge for him, particularly because he started feeling poorly over the weekend, so he really hasn’t done much from a physical standpoint since last Thursday," the coach said. "But, as I just mentioned to him, Walter Payton set the single-game rushing record with a 104 temperature against the Vikings. The question is, does he know who Walter Payton is?"
