Jelani Jenkins fined by league

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(10/26/2013) Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins was fined by the NFL $15,750 for hitting Buffalo quarterback Thad Lewis with his helmet, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

"He's got to hit lower," Joe Philbin said when asked about the play. "It's the quarterback. He's got to hit the guy lower. Our guys have done a great job of that all year. We've had a lot of free runners at the quarterback, and we've done a great job. He's got to hit him low."

The fourth-round draft pick out of the University of Florida is expected to appeal the fine. The rookie has 10 tackles in six games this season.
