Dolphins unveil Week 17 injury report

(12/26/2014) The Dolphins enter Week 17 against the Jets relatively healthy, with only three players listed as questionable and nine players listed as probable.

Linebacker Jelani Jenkins (foot), defensive end Derrick Shelby (ankle) and tackle Dallas Thomas (foot) were labeled as questionable. Tight end Charles Clay (hamstring, knee), cornerback Cortland Finnegan (ankle, knee), linebacker Jonathan Freeny (hamstring), safety Don Jones (shoulder), linebacker Koa Misi (hamstring, knee), defensive tackle Earl Mitchell (back), defensive tackle Jared Odrick (ankle), running back Daniel Thomas (knee) and wide receiver Mike Wallace (back) were all deemed probable.

(12/21/2014) The Dolphins listed the following players as inactive for Sunday’s game against the Vikings: Rishard Matthews, Daniel Thomas, Don Jones, Chris McCain, Dallas Thomas, Nate Garner and Matt Hazel.

Tight end Charles Clay (hamstring) was listed as probable and is active. Linebacker Jelani Jenkins (foot) and cornerback Jamar Taylor (shoulder) were listed as questionable, but are active.

The Dolphins are 4 1/2-point favorites.

(12/19/2014) The Dolphins released their final injury report for the Week 16 matchup against the Vikings and tight end Charles Clay (hamstring) is listed as probable.

The Dolphins listed Jelani Jenkins (foot), Don Jones (shoulder) and Jamar Taylor (shoulder) as questionable.

The Dolphins deemed offensive lineman Nate Garner (illness) out. Dallas Thomas (foot) and Daniel Thomas (knee) are listed as doubtful.

The following players are listed as probable: Koa Misi ,Chris McCainCortland FinneganJonathan Freeny and Jordie Tripp.

The Dolphins are 6 1/2-point favorites.

(12/12/2014) Dolphins tight end Charles Clay and cornerback Cortland Finnegan have been officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Clay, who was a limited participant all week, returned to action for the first time in two weeks against the Ravens last week. 

Finnegan has missed the Dolphins' last four games with an ankle injury. Chris McCain and Jamar Taylor are also questionable.

Guard Nate Garner, who missed practiced all week with an illness, is out as well as defensive tackle Anthony Johnson

Jelani Jenkins, Koa Misi and Jonathan Freeney are all doubtful. Walt Aikens, Dion Jordan, Dion Sims and Jimmy Wilson are all probable. 


Dolphins unveil injury report for Baltimore game

(12/5/2014) The Dolphins have labeled linebacker Jonathan Freeny (hamstring) and cornerback Jamar Taylor (shoulder) out for Sunday's pivotal game against Baltimore. Guard Nate Garner (illness), cornerback Cortland Finnegan (ankle) and linebacker Chris McCain (ankle) were deemed doubtful for Week 14.

Tight end Charles Clay (hamstring, knee) was the only player on the report deemed questionable. He was a limited participant all week leading up to Sunday.

Meanwhile, the following players were labeled as probable: Wide receiver Brian Hartline (knee), tackle Ja'Wuan James (neck), linebacker Jelani Jenkins (shoulder), center Samson Satele (ribs), wide receiver Mike Wallace (chest) and safety Jimmy Wilson (hamstring).

Jenkins had a game-high 12 tackles, one for loss, at the time of the injury.

(10/17/2014) The Dolphins are in fine shape for their Week 7 game at Chicago. Nearly all the players on their Friday injury report are probable.

The exceptions are wide receiver Brandon Gibson (hamstring), who is doubtful, and cornerback Cortland Finnegan (neck) and guard Shelley Smith (knee), who are questionable.

The offensive probables are tackle Branden Albert (shoulder), tight end Charles Clay (knee), running back Lamar Miller (foot), center Samson Satele (fibula) and wideout Mike Wallace (foot).

The defensive probables are linebackers Jelani Jenkins (abdomen), Koa Misi (ankle) and Philip Wheeler (shoulder) and tackles Anthony Johnson (shoulder) and Randy Starks (back).

The team has listed a number of players as probable. Lineman Samson Satele, DT Randy Starks, LB Koa Misi, LB Jelani Jenkins, LB Philip Wheeler, LT Branden Albert and G Dallas Thomas should all be able to play during the contest.

Koa Misi (ankle) is the lone player in the group that has been ruled out. Jonathan Freeny (calf), Jelani Jenkins (shoulder) and Philip Wheeler (thumb) are probable while Jordan Tripp (chest) is doubtful.

Listed as doubtful are defensive end Terrence Fede (knee), center Mike Pouncey (hip) and linebacker Jordan Tripp (chest).

(9/15/2014) Dolphins linebackers Jelani Jenkins and Jason Trusnik were forced into larger-than-expected roles in Week 2 against the Bills, as a result of injuries on the depth chart.

Jenkins led the team with 14 tackles -- nine solo -- and Trusnik wasn't far behind, with 10 -- five solo. Neither accumulated any other stats in the 29-10 loss.

(11/9/2013) The Dolphins defense is mostly in good shape for Week 10 against the Buccaneers, as only one player is expected to miss Monday's game due to injury. While Dimitri Patterson (groin) is considered doubtful, the team has five players listed as either questionable or probable for the game.

Linebackers Jelani Jenkins (foot) and Koa Misi (knee) were limited in practice throughout the week and are considered questionable, while the remainder of the team's injury report features probable players. They include: defensive backs Nolan Carroll (concussion) and Chris Clemons (hamstring); and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (calf). 


Jelani Jenkins fined by league

(10/26/2013) Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins was fined by the NFL $15,750 for hitting Buffalo quarterback Thad Lewis with his helmet, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

"He's got to hit lower," Joe Philbin said when asked about the play. "It's the quarterback. He's got to hit the guy lower. Our guys have done a great job of that all year. We've had a lot of free runners at the quarterback, and we've done a great job. He's got to hit him low."

The fourth-round draft pick out of the University of Florida is expected to appeal the fine. The rookie has 10 tackles in six games this season.
