Five Bills sit out first preseason game

(8/3/2014) The Bills unveiled a list of players who will not participate in the preseason opener against the Giants in Canton, according to WGR550. The following players will sit out Sunday: defensive back Leodis McKelvin (hip), defensive back Stephon Gilmore (hip), tight end Tony Moeaki (hamstring), tight end Scott Chandler  (groin) and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (hamstring).

(6/9/2014) Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore has participated on a limited basis in OTA practices to this point, reports the team's official website. Gilmore is coming off an offseason procedure, and has not done any team work. That could change next week.

"In minicamp they might let me," said Gilmore. "I can go out there and practice, but we're being smart about it."

(12/8/2013) Bills defensive back Stephon Gilmore finally picked off his first pass of the season Sunday, in a 27-6 loss to the Buccaneers. Gilmore added two tackles -- both solo -- in the Week 14 loss.

Gilmore has 28 tackles and one interception in eight games in his second season.

Defensive backs Ron Brooks (foot) and Stephon Gilmore (wrist), as well as wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (hand) and kicker Dustin Hopkins (groin) were all inactive, after being ruled out earlier in the week due to their injuries. Defensive back Jairus Byrd (foot) was also unable to take the field.

Those definitely sidelined are defensive backs Ron Brooks (foot) and Stephon Gilmore (wrist), wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (hand) and kicker Dustin Hopkins (groin).

Those designated as probable are running back Fred Jackson (knee), wide receiver Steve Johnson (hamstring), offensive lineman Kraig Urbik (knee), safety Aaron Williams (lower back), defensive end Mario Williams (ankle) and defensive tackle Kyle Williams (Achilles).

Cornerback Leodis McKelvin (hamstring), running back C.J. Spiller (ankle) and safety Jairus Byrd (foot) are questionable.
