Chiefs draft Aaron Murray

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/10/2014) With pick No. 163 in the NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected quarterback Aaron Murray from Georgia. Murray is expected to challenge Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray to be the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Alex Smith.

Murray will likely sit for at least a year since Smith is entering the final season of his contract, although don't be suprised if Smith still gets a contract extension in Kansas City. Either way, don't expect Murray to start any time soon barring injury.

Murray finished his career at Georgia by passing for 3,075 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 11 starts in 2013 before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee against Kentucky. He is the only quarterback in SEC history to throw for more than 3,000 yards in all four seasons and is the conference's career record holder in touchdowns (121) and passing yards (13,166).

His status for the start of training camp is questionable with his knee.
