News: The Jaguars placed cornerback William Middleton on waivers Tuesday because of a concussion.
Analysis: Middleton started three games for the Jaguars this season. He had 20 tackles in 10 games. He was more important to his real team than Fantasy owners.
News: The Jaguars placed DB William Middleton on injured reserve Saturday with a knee injury, reports the team's official site. Middleton was questionable for the Week 13 game against San Diego with a hamstring problem. His season is over.
Analysis: Middleton had one interception this season for Jacksonville. Otherwise, Middleton was a low-end option in Fantasy IDP formats for a lack of consistent tackling or big-play ability. His season is over and he should be avoided in all Fantasy formats.
News: Jaguars CB Will Middleton worked on the right side in practice Friday and CB Derek Cox worked on the left. Thats an indication they will remain that way Week 11 against Cleveland. Cox moved from right to left after starting LCB Rashean Mathis sustained a season-ending ACL last week.
Analysis: Middleton totaled five solo tackles coming off the bench Week 10 after Mathis got hurt, and has five or more tackles in four games this season. You can bet teams are going to pick on him to gauge how effective he will be. However, consider him a low-end Fantasy DB heading into Week 11 since the Browns don't have a overly productive offense.
News: Jacksonville DB William Middleton claimed one of two interceptions on Jets QB Mark Sanchez during the Jaguars' 32-3 loss in Week 2 on Sunday. Middleton snatched Sanchez's pass intended for WR Derrick Mason during New York's second drive of the first quarter.
Analysis: Middleton also finished with two tackles for the second straight week, but his interception was the highlight on Sunday. He has now picked off two passes in his career, but his Fantasy value remains limited. Leave him untouched in all Fantasy IDP formats for now.
News: Jaguars CB William Middleton stepped in front of a Kerry Collins pass in the Week 13 win over the Titans to notch his first career interception.
Analysis: Middleton does not rack up enough picks and/or tackles to warrant any Fantasy value despite his memorable afternoon.
News: The Jaguars have released receiver Nate Hughes and tight Greg Estandia a day after the players made mistakes in a 31-17 loss to Arizona. Hughes, who had three catches for 15 yards this season, dropped a fourth-down pass in the end zone in the fourth quarter that would have cut the deficit to seven points. Hughes was near tears in the locker room and was released early Monday. Estandia was flagged for illegal motion in the second quarter. One of eight penalties for Jacksonville, it wiped out a 15-yard gain. The Jaguars signed rookie cornerback William Middleton off Atlanta's practice squad and added free agent safety Courtney Greene to replace Hughes and Estandia. The team also waived safety Michael Desormeaux from the practice squad and replaced him with first-year linebacker Justin Roland.
Analysis: The fact is that none of these players were or are expected to produce enough stats to warrant Fantasy use. Keep them off of rosters for now.
News: The Buccaneers claimed defensive end Maurice Evans and cornerback William Middleton off waivers and re-signed seven players who were with the team during training camp to the practice squad. The moves Sunday came a day after Evans was cut by the New York Giants and Middleton was released by the Atlanta Falcons. They fill two openings on the active roster, which was trimmed to 51 players on Saturday
Analysis: Middleton has excellent speed and decent height, but many question his experience. He's a bright kid but doesn't have a future with your Fantasy team.
News: The Atlanta Falcons have signed cornerback William Middleton, their fifth-round draft pick, and defensive tackle Vance Walker, their seventh-round selection. Middleton, an Atlanta native, had seven career interceptions at Furman, including four in his senior season. Walker had 13 sacks and 110 tackles in his career at Georgia Tech.
Analysis: Middleton has excellent speed and decent height, but many question his experience. He's a bright kid but doesn't have a future with your Fantasy team. The same can be said of Walker.
News: The Falcons drafted Furman CB William Middleton with a fifth-round pick in the 2009 draft.
Analysis: Middleton has excellent speed and decent height, but many question his experience at the Football Bowl Subdivision level. He's a bright kid with a future in medicine but not a future with your Fantasy team.
