News: New Giants tight end Brandon Myers told the Newark Star-Ledger he played the entire 2012 season with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder. Myers specifically said the injury held him back as a blocker. He expects to be at full strength for spring OTAs.
Analysis: Myers turned in a breakout campaign last season as he hauled in a career-high 79 catches for 806 yards and four touchdowns in 2011. The 27-year-old is expected to take Bennett's spot in the starting lineup in New York and many feel he has a real chance to build on his impressive 2012 campaign with Eli Manning now throwing passes in his direction. Fantasy owners should consider Myers a Top 12 Fantasy tight end, worthy of a late-round pick in most formats on Draft Day next season.
News:USA Today reports that the Giants signed free-agent tight end Brandon Myers on Saturday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Myers is expected to help fill the void left by Martellus Bennett, who signed with the Bears a few weeks back.

News: Free agent to be tight end Brandon Myers believes he will not return to the Raiders in 2013. Myers turned in a breakout campaign in Oakland this season finishing with 79 receptions for 806 receiving yards and four touchdowns, the best numbers of his career and the best overall numbers by a Raiders tight end since 2002. "Obviously, I'd like to stay," Myers said to the Oakland Tribune. "I've got a lot of friendships and know the coaches really well. They took a chance on me when I got drafted. I'd like to be there but its not looking like that right now. I guess I just have to stay patient and figure some stuff out. We're pretty confident I'll have a job here in a couple of weeks, but I'll just try to sit back and not stress about it."
Analysis: A lot of people believe Myers is the best tight end in the draft because of his impact in 2012. We're a little more skeptical since it took him forever to score last season and 38 of his 79 catches came in a five-game stretch. But if he ends up in a good situation with a great quarterback then he'd probably crack the Top 12 Fantasy tight ends and be worth a late-round pick.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was fairly productive in Week 17 against the Chargers. Myers finished with four receptions for 53 yards in the 24-21 defeat but was unable to get into the end zone. He had a long of 22 yards and was targeted a team-high seven times by Terrelle Pryor.
Analysis: Myers turned in a breakout campaign in Oakland this season as he won the starting job and never looked back. The 27-year-old finished with 79 receptions for 806 receiving yards but only four touchdowns, which was a bit disappointing. He will now be a free agent heading into the 2013 season, so owners will have to keep an eye on where he winds up. As long as he remains a starter, Myers can be considered a viable No. 2 Fantasy tight end heading into 2013.
News: As expected, Raiders tight end Brandon Myers (shoulder) was ruled active for Week 17 against the Chargers. Myers was able to practice in full this week, despite being listed on the team's injury report with a shoulder injury. He will now be facing a Chargers defense that is allowing an average of 5.5 Fantasy points to opposing TEs on the season.
Analysis: Myers has been slumping of late as he has been held under 16 receiving yards in each of his last three games. While he did haul in five receptions for 65 yards in against San Diego back in Week 1, Myers will have a new quarterback under center this week as Terrelle Pryor will make his first career start. With a unproven QB and tough matchup on tap, Fantasy owners should consider Myers merely a low-end option in most formats this week.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was a full participant throughout the week despite dealing with a shoulder injury. He is listed as probable for Sunday's regular season finale at San Diego. Myers will be looking to get back on track and finish strong against the Chargers. He caught just three passes for 10 yards in Week 16 against the Panthers. He has been held under 16 receiving yards in his last three games.
Analysis: Myers had a decent game in his last meeting against the Chargers, as he caught five passes for 65 yards in the opening week of the season. He has struggled since his 130-yard performance against the Browns in Week 13 and has averaged just 10.7 yards per game in his last three contests. Opposing tight ends have averaged 5.5 Fantasy points per game against the Chargers this season, which is the fourth-fewest allowed in the league. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end option at tight end heading into the final week of the season.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was largely a non-factor in Week 16 against the Panthers, as the entire passing game struggled in a 17-6 loss. Myers caught just three passes for 10 yards, the third game in a row that he has totaled fewer than 16 receiving yards. Myers was targeted four times in the game, and had a long reception of just seven yards.
Analysis: Myers has just 32 yards on six catches over the last three games, as he has completely hit a wall at the end of the season. The Raiders quarterback situation looks ugly heading into the finale, as Carson Palmer was forced to leave with a rib injury. If Palmer cannot play in Week 17 against the Chargers, it would be hard to recommend Myers as a viable Fantasy option. Despite Myers coming up with five catches for 65 yards against the Chargers in Week 1, he should be considered just a low-end starting Fantasy option for Week 17.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers heads into Week 16 at Carolina leading AFC tight ends with 72 receptions. Tight ends are averaging 4.8 receptions, 50.8 receiving yards and 8.0 Fantasy points per week against Carolina, which is tied for the eighth-highest average in the NFL. Tight ends have managed seven touchdowns against Carolina, including four touchdowns in the last five games.
Analysis: Myers has vanished from the Raiders' passing game since Week 14. After his stellar performance Week 13 against the Browns, which included 14 catches for 130 yards and one touchdown, Myers has just three catches for 22 yards in his last two games. Teams have finally found a way to minimize his impact. That hasn't been good for Fantasy owners who have leaned on Myers the last few weeks. The Panthers have struggled to stop tight ends as of late, but Myers is just a low-end Fantasy start because of his recent struggles.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers turned in another underwhelming performance in Week 15 against the Chiefs. Myers hauled in just two receptions for 15 yards in the 15-0 win, including a 14-yarder, which set up a Sebastian Janikowski 57-yard field goal right before halftime. His other reception went for just 1 yard and he was targeted four times by Carson Palmer in the victory.
Analysis: Myers has now turned in two stinkers after his breakout performance a few weeks ago, which has many Fantasy owners up in arms. Unfortunately, the Raiders offense in a major work in progress and has been very unreliable this season. Other than Darren McFadden -- when healthy -- most of Oakland's other options have struggled with consistency this season. While Myers has hauled in at least five receptions in five of his last seven games, he should be considered more of a low-end option heading into Week 16 against the Panthers.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers will be looking to turn in a bounce-back performance in Week 15 against the Chiefs. Myers was held to a season-low 7 yards receiving on just one reception during Oakland's loss to the Broncos last week. He will be facing Kansas City defense that is allowing an average of 218 passing yards per game. The Chiefs have surrendered 25 TDs through the air while yielding an average of 6.8 points to opposing TEs, which ranks 13th overall.
Analysis: After putting up 14 receptions for 130 yards and a score two weeks ago against the Browns, Fantasy owners were expecting big things from Myers last Thursday night. He instead turned in one of his worst performances of the season as Denver completely took him out of the game. However, Myers looks to have somewhat of a favorable matchup on tap this week as the Chiefs have struggled to defend the pass this season. Kansas City has allowed an opposing TE to find the end zone in two of its last three contests and Myers hauled in three receptions for 49 yards in his first meeting against the division rival this season. Consider Myers a viable low-end option in most formats this week.
News: Coming off the best game of his season, expectations were high for Raiders tight end Brandon Myers entering Week 14 against the Broncos. Unfortunately, Myers was unable to take advantage of a vulnerable Broncos passing defense in a 26-13 loss. Myers was held to just one catch for the second time this season. The catch went for just 7 yards, his lowest total for a single game all year. He was targeted just twice in the game, as Carson Palmer struggled to find him.
Analysis: This was a huge disappointment for Myers owners, especially coming off a huge 14-catch, 130-yard performance the previous week. Maybe we should have seen this coming, though; the Broncos were the only team to hold him to just one catch prior to this game. The Broncos entered the week allowing the second-most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends, but they just seem to have Myers number. Myers has another solid matchup in Week 15, against a Chiefs team he went for 49 yards against in a previous meeting. Despite the silent outing, Fantasy owners should still consider Myers a solid option for Week 15.
News: As expected, Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was officially ruled active for Thursday night's contest against the Broncos despite dealing with a shoulder issue. Myers is coming off his best performance of the season. He caught 14 passes on 15 targets last week against Cleveland and went for 130 yards and a touchdown. Myers has a chance at another solid game Thursday against a Denver defense allowing the second-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Myers was dealing with some soreness in his shoulder and was never in danger of missing Thursday's game. He has just five catches for 49 yards without a score in his last five games against Denver and that includes one catch for 22 yards earlier this year Week 4. He has consistently been around 40-70 receiving yards per game this season but has just four touchdowns. Of course, it helps that all four touchdowns have come in his last five games. Myers has caught at least five passes in five straight games and in seven of his last eight and that makes him a solid start in all PPR leagues. Myers can be active as a No. 1 Fantasy tight end in most formats for Thursday's game.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers has been practicing all week and is listed as probable for Thursday night's contest against the Broncos in Week 14. Myers is coming off his best performance of the season. He caught 14 passes on 15 targets last week against Cleveland and went for 130 yards and a touchdown. Myers has a chance at another solid game Thursday against a Denver team allowing the second-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Myers is just dealing with some soreness in his shoulder and there doesn't seem to be a ton of concern from the team regarding his status heading into his matchup Thursday night. Myers has just five catches for 49 yards without a score in his last five games against Denver and that includes one catch for 22 yards earlier this year Week 4.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers was added to the injury report with a sore shoulder Tuesday. Myers, who was limited in practice Tuesday, heads into the Week 14 Thursday night game against Denver coming off his best performance of the season. Myers caught 14 passes on 15 targets last week against Cleveland and went for 130 yards and a touchdown. Myers has a chance at another solid game Thursday against a Denver team allowing the second-most Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Myers' is just dealing with some soreness in his shoulder and there doesn't seem to be a ton of concern from the team regarding his status heading into his matchup Thursday night. Myers has just five catches for 49 yards without a score in his last five games against Denver and that includes one catch for 22 yards earlier this year Week 4. News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers continued to be the favorite target of quarterback Carson Palmer in Week 13 against the Browns and ended up having a huge performance. He caught 14 passes for 130 yards -- both career highs -- and a touchdown in the 20-17 loss. He gained just 41 yards on five grabs in the first half but came alive after halftime, including hauling in a 17-yard scoring strike from Palmer in the closing seconds of the game. Myers, who averaged 9.3 yards per reception, was targeted a team-high 15 times while leading Oakland in receiving in the defeat. Brandon has done a nice job for us in the passing game, coach Dennis Allen told the Contra Costa Times. Obviously, our quarterback feels comfortable with him. Im not really looking for silver linings right now but, yeah, hes done a nice job for us.
Analysis: Myers posted six catches and his touchdown on the final drive of the game Sunday as the Bengals went to their prevent defense. Owners will take the production anyway it comes, however, as the 27-year-old continues to have a breakout campaign in his fourth season out of Iowa. He leads the Raiders with his 69 catches thus far and his four touchdowns have made Myers a viable option in Fantasy. Myers will look to keep things going in Week 14 against the Broncos so owners in most leagues -- especially PPR formats -- should consider adding him. When the division foes met earlier in the year, Myers caught just one pass for 22 yards.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers heads into Week 13 against Cleveland looking to get back in the end zone. Myers did not score in a mediocre game last week at Cincinnati. Unfortunately, he's facing the toughest team in the NFL against tight ends. The Browns are allowing the fewest Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in the league.
Analysis: Myers comes into Week 13 with career highs in catches (55), receiving yards (591) and touchdowns (3) this season. He's definitely having a fantastic year, but he's facing one of his toughest matchups Week 13. Fantasy owners should consider alternatives before settling on Myers Sunday.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers finished with five catches for 37 yards Week 12 at Cincinnati. He was targeted six times.
Analysis: Sunday was the first time in seven games Myers was held to less than 40 yards. However, he managed at least five catches for the fourth straight game and eighth time this season. Myers is a great PPR Fantasy tight end. However, he is more of a low-end starter in standard formats because he doesn't post a lot of yards on a weekly basis. The Raiders host the Browns in Week 13.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers (shoulder) is active Week 12 at Cincinnati. He was listed as probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Myers, who already has a career-high 50 catches for 554 yards and three touchdowns, will face a Bengals defense yielding 60.7 receiving yards and 9.2 Fantasy points per game to tight ends, which is the fifth-highest average in the league. Tight ends have totaled five touchdowns in 10 games against Cincinnati. Myers is averaging a career-best 55.4 receiving yards per game. Myers has been a good PPR option all season, but he is finally becoming reliable in standard formats as well. He has three touchdowns in his last three games after totaling zero in his first seven games. He has a favorable matchup Week 12, so consider Myers a viable Fantasy start.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was listed as probable on Friday's injury report and is expected to play in Week 12 against the Bengals. He was limited in practice earlier in the week due to a shoulder injury. Cincinnati ranks 14th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 228 yards per game, and has allowed an average of 9.2 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Tight ends have totaled five touchdowns in 10 games against Cincinnati. Myers is averaging a career-best 55.4 receiving yards per game as he has come out of seemingly nowhere to have a breakout campaign in 2012. Myers has been a good PPR option all season, but he is finally becoming reliable in standard formats as well. With three touchdowns in his last three games after totaling zero in his first seven games and a favorable matchup Week 12, consider Myers a viable Fantasy start.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers looks to continue to build on his career campaign heading into his next matchup Week 12 at Cincinnati. Myers, who already has a career-high 50 catches for 554 yards and three touchdowns, will face a Bengals defense yielding 60.7 receiving yards and 9.2 Fantasy points per game to tight ends, which is the fifth-highest average in the league. Tight ends have totaled five touchdowns in 10 games against Cincinnati. Myers is averaging a career-best 55.4 receiving yards per game.
Analysis: Myers has come out of nowhere to have a breakout campaign in 2012 and he owes offensive coordinator Greg Knapp a lot of credit. Knapp's offense is conducive for tight ends to thrive. Tight ends who have performed well under Knapp as their offensive coordinator include John Carlson (574 yards, seven TDs in 2009), Zach Miller (778 yards in 2008), and Alge Crumpler (780 yards, eight TDs in 2006; 877 yards, five TDs in 2005; 774 yards, six TDs in 2004). Myers has been a good PPR option all season, but he is finally becoming reliable in standard formats as well. He has three touchdowns in his last three games after totaling zero in his first seven games. He has a favorable matchup Week 12, so consider Myers a viable Fantasy start.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers continued his breakout campaign in Week 11 against the Saints. He caught six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown in the 38-17 loss. He let a score slip through his hands early in the second quarter -- and into the arms of Roman Harper -- but redeemed himself before halftime by hauling in 1-yard touchdown from quarterback Carson Palmer. Myers, who was targeted a team-high 10 times, finished third on Oakland in receiving behind running back Marcel Reece (90 yards) and wideout Darrius Heyward-Bey (69 yards).
Analysis: Myers now has three touchdowns in the previous three games to go with 19 catches for 171 yards. He has become a reliable option for Palmer in Oakland and has seen his value in Fantasy increase in recent weeks. The 27-year-old has never been much of an option in Fantasy before this season but could be helping out many owners at this point. Heading into Week 12 against the Bengals, consider Myers a viable option in deeper formats.
News: After being limited in practice earlier in the week, Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was been ruled active for Week 11 against the Saints. He had been dealing with shoulder and concussion issues. The Saints rank 31st in the league in pass defense, giving up over 307 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 7.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends this year.
Analysis: Myers is having a breakout campaign for the Raiders as he has already set career marks in receptions (44), yards (499) and touchdowns (two). He has become a reliable target for quarterback Carson Palmer and is proving to be serviceable in Fantasy. Since the Saints have been poor against the pass for much of the season, consider Myers as a low-end starting option in most formats for Week 11.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers (shoulder, concussion) was listed as probable on the team's injury report for Week 11 against New Orleans. Myers practiced in full for the second straight day Friday after being limited by the issues during Wednesday's session. The Saints rank 31st in the league in pass defense, giving up over 307 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 7.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends this year.
Analysis: Myers sustained a concussion earlier this season and has been banged up with multiple injuries, but he has yet to miss a game. Despite posting some lowly yardage totals, he will be attempting to reach the end zone for the third time in as many games during the matchup against the Saints. Myers holds more Fantasy value in PPR leagues, and should be viewed as a low-end starting option in most formats for Week 11.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers practiced in full again on Thursday as the team prepares for Week 11 vs. New Orleans. Myers who is dealing with a shoulder injury and post-concussion symptoms and should be in line to play on Sunday. The Saints rank 31st in the league in pass defense, giving up over 307 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 7.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Myers sustained a concussion earlier this season and has been banged up with multiple injuries, but he has yet to miss a game. It seems he is on track to play Week 11 as he is already on the practice field. Myers was a disappointment in standard formats Week 10 following his two-touchdown performance Week 9. He is more valuable in PPR formats, but Myers is still a decent low-end Fantasy starter in deep leagues when healthy.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers, who coach Dennis Allen said Monday needs to go through "concussion protocol", practiced Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 11 vs. New Orleans. The Saints rank 31st in the league in pass defense, giving up over 307 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 7.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.

News: Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Monday tight end Brandon Myers is going through "concussion protocol" and will need to be cleared to practice leading up to Week 11 vs. New Orleans.
Analysis: Myers sustained a concussion earlier this season and has been banged up with multiple injuries, but he has yet to miss a game. It's a bit more concerning this time since Myers is headed for more concussion testing, but it sounds as though he still has a chance to play Sunday. Myers was a disappointment in standard formats Week 10 following his two-touchdown performance Week 9. He is more valuable in PPR formats, but Myers is still a decent low-end Fantasy starter in deep leagues when healthy.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers caught five passes for 57 yards in Sunday's 55-20 loss to the Ravens. It was his sixth game this season with 50 or more receiving yards.
Analysis: Myers was targeted seven times, giving him 20 over his last two games. While he was relatively quiet until the fourth quarter (he had 25 receiving yards at the end of the third), Myers came through for his owners with another strong performance -- although this was the eighth time in nine games he failed to score. Top five in receiving yards among tight ends this season, Myers is a solid starting option for Week 11 against the Saints, who have allowed the fourth-most receiving yards in the NFL this season.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was a full participant in practice for the first time this week leading up to Sunday's contest against the Ravens in Week 10. Myers, who is dealing with a shoulder injury, is listed as probable and is expected to play. He will face a shaky Baltimore defense that has allowed just one touchdown to a tight end all season long.
Analysis: Myers has 442 receiving yards already this season, putting him fifth among tight ends this season. And, after a two-touchdown performance in Week 9, Myers has addressed his biggest weakness -- that he was all yardage and no scores. He's also converting targets into receptions at a 78 percent rate. Of all the players with 40 or more targets, only Tony Gonzalez has done better. Myers currently has more receiving yards than Michael Crabtree, Brandon Lloyd, Sidney Rice, and Titus Young. As a tight end who has now shown he can be found in the end zone, he should be considered a starter in most formats.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was a limited participant in practice for the second day in a row on Thursday as his team prepares for Week 10 at Baltimore. And, after a two-touchdown performance in Week 9, Myers has addressed his biggest weakness -- that he was all yardage and no scores. He was a limited participant in practice Wednesday as he continues to to deal with a shoulder injury but is expected to play.
Analysis: Myers' success shouldn't come as a huge surprise to anyone familiar with offensive coordinator Greg Knapp's history with tight ends, as he consistently gets them yardage and touchdowns. Zach Miller had 778 receiving yards in 2008. John Carlson had 574 yards and seven TDs in 2009, and Alge Crumpler had seasons of 780, 877, and 774 yards -- with a ton of touchdowns mixed in -- between 2004 and 2006. But Myers is on pace to beat them all, and part of the reason for his success is that he's converting targets into receptions at a 78 percent rate.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was able to find the end zone for the first time in his career in Week 9 against the Buccaneers. Myers was on the receiving end of a pair of scores in the 42-32 defeat, including a 4-yard strike in the fourth quarter. He also hauled in a 1-yard score later in the period and finished with a season-high eight receptions for 56 yards in the loss. Myers had a long of 13 yards and was targeted a team-high 13 times by Carson Palmer on the afternoon.
Analysis: Myers had been racking up the receptions over the weeks, but had been unable to find the end zone for the Raiders. However, he finally snapped his scoring drought Sunday by hauling in a pair of scores. The 27-year-old continues to be a favorite target for Palmer and has now finished with 44 yards receiving in all but one of his eight games on the year. That trend should continue moving forward, albeit he looks to have a fairly tough matchup in Week 10 against the Ravens. Consider Myers a viable low-end option in most formats against Baltimore.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers is hoping to see a few more targets in the red zone in Week 9 against the Buccaneers. While Myers' 37 targets rank third on Oakland's roster, he has only been targeted four times in the red zone this season and is still looking for his first touchdown reception. Tampa Bay enters the contest ranked 30th in pass defense, allowing an average of 310 passing yards per game. The Buccaneers have surrendered nine TDs through the air while yielding an average of 5.7 Fantasy points to opposing TEs, which ranks ninth overall.
Analysis: Myers has been one of Carson Palmer's favorite targets this season, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case in the red zone. Still, the 27-year-old has now finished with at least 44 yards receiving in all but one of his seven games this year as he has been Palmer's safety valve on most plays and that trend should continue moving forward. While Tampa Bay has done well to limit the production of most opposing TEs thus far, Myers should see plenty of looks again this week. Consider him a viable low-end option in most formats against the Bucs.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was fairly productive in Week 8 against the Chiefs. Myers finished with three receptions for 49 yards in the 26-16 win, but was unable to get into the end zone. He did had a long of 29 yards and was targeted three times by Carson Palmer, which was tied with Darrius Heyward-Bey for third most on the team.
Analysis: Myers has now finished with at least 44 yards receiving in all but one of his seven games this year but has been unable to get into the end zone. Still, the 27-year-old is currently ranked third on the team in targets and should see plenty of passes thrown in his direction when the Raiders welcome the Buccaneers to town in Week 9. Tampa Bay has struggled to defend the pass this season so consider Myers a viable low-end starter in most formats next Sunday.
News: As expected, Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was ruled active for Week 8 against the Chiefs. Myers was listed as probable on the team's injury report due to a knee injury. Myers has yet to score a touchdown this season, despite leading the team in receptions (28), receiving yards (334 )and first downs (17) and his 34 targets rank third behind Denarius Moore (43) and Darren McFadden (38).
Analysis: Myers has been able to come down with the receptions this year, but Fantasy owners are hoping to see him get in the end zone at some point. Still, the 27-year-old has put up career numbers with the Raiders this season and has finished with at least 44 receiving yards in all but one of his six contests on the year. However, the Chiefs are only yielding an average of 6.0 Fantasy points to opposing TEs on the year, so this looks to be somewhat of a tough matchup for him. Consider Myers a viable low-end option in most formats this Sunday.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers will be looking to find the end zone for the first time this season in Week 8 against the Chiefs. Myers has yet to score a touchdown this season, despite leading the team in receptions (28), receiving yards (334 )and first downs (17) and his 34 targets rank third behind Denarius Moore (43) and Darren McFadden (38). The Chiefs enter the contest ranked 13th in pass defense allowing an average of 225 passing yards per game. Kansas City has surrendered 13 TDs through the air while yielding an average of 6.0 Fantasy points to opposing TEs on the year.
Analysis: While Myers continues to rack up the receptions, it would be nice to see him find the end zone sometime in the year future. Still, the 27-year-old has put up career numbers with the Raiders this season and has finished with at least 44 receiving yards in all but one of his six contests on the year. However, he looks to have somewhat of tough matchup on tap this week as the Chiefs have been stingy defending opposing TEs this season. Myers continues to be a favorite target of Carson Palmer and should see plenty of passes thrown in his direction this week. Consider Myers a viable low-end option in most formats this Sunday.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was fairly productive in Week 7 against the Jaguars. Myers hauled in a season and team-high seven receptions in the 26-23 overtime win and totaled 44 yards on those catches. He had a long of 17 yards but was unable to get into the end zone. Myers was targeted a team-high 10 times in the victory and now caught at least four passes in five of his six games on the season.
Analysis: Myers continues to be one of Palmer's favorite targets in the passing game, but he has been unable to find the end zone yet this season. Still, the 27-year-old has racked up at least 44 yards receiving in all but one of his six contests on the year and should continue to see plenty of passes thrown in his direction when the Raiders head out to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in Week 8. Fantasy owners should consider Myers a quality bye-week replacement in most formats heading into his next matchup.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers has officially been ruled active for Week 7 against the Jaguars. Myers was able to practice in full this week, despite dealing with ear and knee issues. He has registered 21 receptions for 290 yards -- both career highs -- this season and will face a Jaguars defense that ranks 23rd in the NFL in pass defense (261 yards allowed per game).
Analysis: Myers will play Sunday but actually looks to have a tough matchup on tap as the Jaguars have not allowed a tight end to score a touchdown through five contests. Plus, Jacksonville is permitting a lowly average of 4.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Fantasy owners should consider Myers more of a low-end option this week.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers was labeled probable for Week 7 against Jacksonville as he battles issues to his knee and ear. Myers was a full participant in practice over the past week and will look to add to his career campaign against a Jaguars defense that ranks 23rd in the NFL in pass defense (261 yards allowed per game). Myers has registered 21 receptions for 290 yards -- both career highs -- this season.
Analysis: Myers has been a decent option in Fantasy football so far this season as he has at least 55 yards receiving in all but one game. He has yet to find the end zone, however, and the Jaguars have not allowed a tight end to score a touchdown through five contests. Plus, Jacksonville is permitting a lowly average of 4.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. With a tough matchup ahead, Myers should be viewed as a low-end starting Fantasy option for Week 7.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers has already posted career highs with 21 catches for 290 yards thus far and will look to add to those stats in Week 7 against the Jaguars. Jacksonville ranks 23rd in the league in pass defense, giving up 261 yards per game, but has limited opposing tight ends to an average of just four Fantasy points.
Analysis: Myers has been a decent option in Fantasy so far this season as he has at least 55 yards receiving in all but one game. He has yet to find the end zone, however, and the Jaguars have not allowed a tight end to score a touchdown through five contests. Continue to view Myers as more of a low-end Fantasy option for Week 7.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers, who had only one catch for 22 yards when the team last played in Week 4, looked more like himself Week 6 at Atlanta, catching five passes for 62 yards. He was targeted seven times on the day, second-most on the team. He now has five or more catches in three of the team's five games.
Analysis: Even more encouraging for Myers is that he was targeted in the end zone at one point in the second quarter, having the ball bounce off his hands. He has yet to score a touchdown this season, but if he gets to where he's contributing one every two or three weeks, he'll be surprisingly useful in Fantasy. Even now, he has value in deeper points-per-reception leagues. With a favorable matchup Week 7 against the Jaguars, Myers is a viable bye-week replacement in Fantasy.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers, who was listed on the injury report as probable with a shoulder injury, is active for Week 6 at Atlanta. Myers had some shoulder troubles in the preseason but has yet to miss a game this season.
Analysis: Myers' last performance Week 4 at Denver wasn't so hot, but he averaged five catches in the team's first three games, giving him some low-end appeal in points-per-reception leagues. You could do worse than him as a bye-week replacement at tight end.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers -- who was a surprise contributor over the first three weeks of the season, averaging 5.0 catches for 68.7 -- was pretty much a non-factor when the Raiders last played Week 4 at Denver, catching one pass for 22 yards. Coming out of the bye, he'll be looking to get back on track Week 6 at Atlanta, but the odds are against him. The Falcons rank seventh against the pass, allowing 203.0 yards per game.
Analysis: Relatively speaking, tight ends have been more successful than wide receivers against the Falcons this season, so if all you're looking for is 55 yards or so from Myers, he should be able to do that. He's a long shot to reach the end zone -- the Falcons have given up only two touchdowns to tight ends in their five games this season -- but then again, you shouldn't be expecting touchdowns from Myers anyway. If you're in search of a bye-week replacement, you could certainly do worse than Myers, but understand that he doesn't offer much big-game potential.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers had just one catch for 22 yards during the Raiders' 37-6 loss at Denver in Week 4. Myers collected just two targets from quarterback Carson Palmer as he finished with his lowest reception and yardage totals of the season. Three different Oakland players posted more yards than Myers, including running back Marcel Reece (54 yards on five receptions).
Analysis: Myers entered the game third among all NFL tight ends with 15 receptions, but was unable to build on his strong start as the Broncos held the Raiders in check throughout the afternoon. Myers will experience games like Sunday as Palmer is provided little time to find open receivers as a result of the team's porous offensive line. Consider Myers a low-end option in Week 6 at Atlanta as Oakland is idle in Week 5.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers is active for Week 4 at Denver after missing time last Sunday because of a concussion. Myers was listed as questionable on the injury report after he was a limited participant in practice throughout the past week.
Analysis: Myers ranks fifth in the NFL among tight ends with 15 receptions, but doesn't have is a touchdown and he will attempt to break that streak Sunday against the Broncos. Denver is giving up an average of 12.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Plus, Denver has also permitted a touchdown to a tight end in each game this year. Consider Myers a quality Fantasy option in most formats for Week 4.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers is viewed as questionable for Week 4 at Denver because of a concussion he suffered late in his previous game. Myers was a limited participant in practice throughout the past week, but he is hoping to extend his early stretch of production for the Raiders. He ranks fifth in the NFL with 15 receptions for 206 yards through three games this season. "I'm just trying to do whatever the coach asks," Myers told the Oakland Tribune. "If it comes to the tight end, it comes to us. If not, we're blocking for someone else."
Analysis: Myers earned some high praise from quarterback Carson Palmer as Myers has reeled in every pass thrown in his direction from the veteran. "He's probably got the best hands on the team," he said. But one thing Myers doesn't have is a touchdown and he will attempt to break that streak Sunday against the Broncos, who are giving up an average of 12.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. Plus, Denver has also permitted a touchdown to a tight end in each game this year. Consider Myers a solid Fantasy option in most formats as he's expected to play in Week 4.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers (concussion) practiced in a limited capacity for a second straight day Thursday as the team prepares for Week 4 at Denver.
Analysis: Myers appears likely to play Sunday, barring a setback. Myers has been one of Carson Palmer's favorite targets this season, totaling 15 catches for 206 yards in three games. However, he has no touchdowns. Tight ends usually do well in Greg Knapp's offense, which is why we are seeing a breakout run from Myers. He can be used in deeper Fantasy formats when healthy.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers, who suffered a concussion Week 3, was able to practice Wednesday as the team prepares for Week 4 at Denver.
Analysis: The fact Myers is already practicing means he had passed the NFL mandated protocol for concussions and appears likely to play Sunday, barring a setback. The absence of touchdowns is preventing him from being a must-add player.
News: Raiders coach Dennis Allen updated Monday the status of tight end Brandon Myers, who suffered a concussion Week 3 against the Steelers. "He feels fine. No headache," Allen said. "We still have to go through all the protocol as far as passing all the tests."
Analysis: It seems there is a good chance Myers will play Week 4 at Denver, but he is day to day for now. The absence of touchdowns is preventing him from being a must-add player.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers made some big plays late in Sunday's game against the Steelers but suffered a concussion in Week 3. Myers hauled in a vital 15-yard pass from Carson Palmer during the team's game-winning drive in a 34-31 victory. According to head coach Dennis Allen, Myers suffered a concussion late in the fourth quarter. He finished with a team-high 64 yards on four receptions as he was targeted four times.
Analysis: Myers was not Palmer's top target on Sunday, but he proved to be the most effective in a critical victory at home. Myers, who caught all of his targeted passes, is starting to emerge as a solid tight end in Fantasy. He has 225 yards on 15 receptions but has failed to reach the end zone through his first three games. We'll continue to monitor his status in the coming days as his status for next week's game on the road against the Broncos is still up in the air. Fantasy owners should view him as a viable starter in deeper formats, when healthy.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers heads into Week 3 vs. Pittsburgh catching all 11 of his targeted passes this season. I expect to catch everything, Myers said. Myers has already tied his career-high with 151 receiving yards. He's caught a bunch of balls, quarterback Carson Palmer said. There's a lot of balls to be caught by that position in this offense. And he and I had some good chemistry last year in some similar situations but obviously a different offense. But there's a lot of balls to be had at that spot, and he's done a great job taking advantage of those opportunities, and it's been good to see him really develop in there. Myers is encouraged by the chemistry he has developed with Palmer. We'd like to be on the other end of the win-loss total, but, yeah, he's finding me and doing a good job of putting the ball on me. That's what he does best, Myers said.
Analysis: Myers said Greg Knapp's offense is tight-end friendly but provides a lot of opportunity for everyone to make plays and contribute. He certainly has been taking advantage in 2012. Fantasy owners have been a little hesitant gauging whether or not Myers will be a breakout star in 2012, but this is becoming a tight-end league, so Myers might be worth adding in deep formats. His next challenge will be the Steelers, who are yielding 7.0 Fantasy points per week to tight ends. Jacob Tamme had a touchdown against Pittsburgh in Week 1. Myers might be worth starting in deeper formats Week 3.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers led the team in receiving yards against the Dolphins on Sunday, catching six passes for 86 yards. Myers was targeted six times and now has 11 receptions for 151 yards on the season.
Analysis: Myers is owned in just one percent of leagues, but has now put up two very solid games. He looks to be a reliable target for Carson Palmer in an offense that has averaged 47 pass attempts so far this season. Raiders OC Greg Knapp has a habit of highlighting tight ends in his offense, and anyone who knows his history could have seen this start coming. Tight ends who have thrived with Knapp as their OC include John Carlson (574 yards, seven TDs in 2009), Zach Miller (778 yards in 2008), and Alge Crumpler (780 yards, eight TDs in 2006; 877 yards, five TDs in 2005; 774 yards, six TDs in 2004). Myers has yet to catch a touchdown this season, but his yardage totals and Knapp's track record suggest that the end zone won't be too far away. Myers makes a great backup tight end, who looks like he will be a consistent part of Oakland's offensive attack all season long.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers was a pleasant surprise in Week 1, catching five passes for 65 yards. He caught all five of his targets. Myers finished seventh among all tight ends in receiving yards, outgaining Rob Gronkowski, Brent Celek, Vernon Davis, and Antonio Gates. His preseason shoulder issues seem to be behind him.
Analysis: In 2008, Zach Miller led the Raiders with 778 receiving yards. In 2007, his rookie year, Miller had 444 yards. His offensive coordinator those two seasons? Current Raiders OC Greg Knapp. Other Knapp tight ends? Seattle, 2009: John Carlson, 574 yards, seven TDs. Atlanta, 2006: Alge Crumpler, 780 yards, eight TDs. Atlanta 2005: Crumpler, 877 yards, five TDs. Atlanta 2004: Crumpler, 774 yards, six TDs. In short, Knapp has a track record of developing tight ends who rack up a ton of yardage. Myers is currently owned in so few leagues that his ownership is technically at zero percent. If Knapp works his magic -- and history strongly suggests that he will -- that number might be about 50 percent by mid-season. Conventional wisdom may tell you to ignore Myers because of a lack of track record and low ownership numbers, but actual wisdom says he could be a very solid sleeper candidate and is in line for some big games this season. At the very least, Myers is worth a spot on scout teams.
News: Raiders tight end Brandon Myers finished second in receiving on his team in Week 1 against the Chargers. He caught five passes for 61 yards in the 22-14 loss. He had a long reception of 26 and averaged 12.2 yards per grab. Myers was targeted five times by Carson Palmer in the defeat.
Analysis: Myers caught just 16 passes for 151 yards a year ago so it would be easy to assume that he is in line for a career campaign in 2012. How effective he will be in Fantasy remains to be seen so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Owners should leave Myers on waivers in the majority of formats heading into Week 2 against the Dolphins.
News: Raiders right end Brandon Myers saw his first action of the preseason Saturday against the Lions, and he made the most of it. Myers, who missed the first two games with a shoulder injury, worked with the first team and was targeted a team-high eight times by starting quarterback Carson Palmer. He brought in five of those passes for 41 yards.
Analysis: Myers set a new career high last season with 16 catches for 151 yards, but he is a good bet to top those numbers this year. He looks like the leader in the battle for the starting tight end spot, and though he has an uninspiring track record, he does have to fill a spot left in the offense by Kevin Boss, who caught 28 passes for 368 yards. Myers is not an exciting option right now, or even one worth watching in the short term, but he might emerge as a relevant Fantasy option somewhere down the road.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers, who is hoping to compete for a starting job this preseason, missed the first preseason game against the Cowboys Monday. Myers is dealing with a shoulder injury suffered in practice.
Analysis: Myers, who caught just 16 passes last year, is vying for the starting job with Richard Gordon and David Ausberry, among others. Even if he makes the team as the starter, the Raiders don't plan to use him in a way that will make him that attractive to Fantasy owners. Overall, Myers has just 32 receptions for 250 yards an no touchdowns in four NFL seasons. He may be the starter, but has a long road before becoming a Fantasy relevant tight end.
News: Oakland tight end Brandon Myers entered training camp in familiar fashion this year -- tops on the Raiders' depth chart. However, he's not a guarantee to open the regular season in the starting lineup as he was displaced from the top spot last year when Oakland added Kevin Boss. Yet Myers has reason for optimism after he became the team's most experienced tight end following Boss' release in the offseason. "Hes kind of worked himself into the number one guy," Raiders coach Dennis Allen told the Contra Costa Times. "But, I dont know ... that depth chart is consistently changing. Hes number one right now but two weeks down the road well see where hes at."
Analysis: Myers, who hauled in only 16 passes last season, is currently battling second-year players David Ausberry and Richard Gordon as well as Troy Humphrey for the starting position. "Ive prepared like Im the starter, even when you got a guy like Zach (Miller) ahead of you, or Kevin, youve got to prepare like youre the starter," Myers said Monday. "A lot of things happen. Its nothing Ive done different. Its just that Ive got an opportunity and try to make the plays when Ive got the opportunity." Overall, Myers has just 32 receptions for 250 yards an no touchdowns in four NFL seasons. He may be the starter, but has a long road before becoming a Fantasy relevant tight end.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers was held without a catch in Week 14 against the Packers. He was targeted zero times by QB Carson Palmer in the 46-16 loss.
Analysis: Myers caught three passes for 33 yards his last time out but fellow TE Kevin Boss re-emerged on Sunday, which left few opportunities for the 26-year-old. Plan on ignoring Myers in the majority of Fantasy leagues down the stretch.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers tied his career high with 33 yards receiving his last time out and will be looking for continued success in Week 14 against the Packers. Green Bay ranks 31st in the league in pass defense, giving up nearly 293 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 9.8 Fantasy points to opposing tight ends.
Analysis: Myers has become more involved in the offense in recent weeks and appears to have developed a nice rapport with QB Carson Palmer. He has nine catches for 102 yards over the last five games, which has outproduced his teammate Kevin Boss. The Packers have been very poor against the pass thus far so consider Myers a No. 2 Fantasy TE for Week 14.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers tied a career high with three catches in Week 13, and he netted 33 yards, which was the highest single-game total of his career. Myers was targeted six times in the 34-14 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Myers has been a little more involved in the Raiders' passing game lately, but he is still not making much of an impact in Fantasy. Despite the slight improvement in his production, owners can continue to ignore him in all formats.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers caught two passes for a season-high 22 yards Week 11 at Minnesota. He was targeted three times in the contest.
Analysis: Myers is good for one or two catches per game, but he never contributes much yardage. He's primarily a blocker and isn't even the team's No. 1 TE. You can leave him on waivers in Fantasy.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers caught two passes for 11 yards in Week 10 against the Chargers. He was targeted three times by QB Carson Palmer in the 24-17 win.
Analysis: Myers has not caught more than two passes in any game so far this season and his season high in yardage is just 16 yards. Considering his current role in Oakland, continue to ignore him in the majority of Fantasy leagues.
News: With the Raiders' addition of Kevin Boss via free agency, chances are Brandon Myers will catch many passes this season.
Analysis: Myers is not worth drafting or owning at this time since his contributions are expected to be minimal.
News: In the wake of Zach Miller's signing with the Seahawks, some people think Brandon Myers can step up and be the Raiders' top tight end. Myers caught 12 passes for 80 yards last season and is regarded as more of a blocking tight end than a pass-catching one.
Analysis: It would be a shock for Myers, a three-year NFL vet, to flourish like Miller did. We wouldn't draft Myers this summer.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers had one catch for 7 yards Sunday at Kansas City in Week 17.
Analysis: Myers has minimal Fantasy value heading into 2011. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers caught three passes for 28 yards in the Week 11 loss to Pittsburgh. Myers had a better game than did starter Zach Miller. Myers was targeted five times in the game but Miller was targeted seven times.
Analysis: Myers has not found the end zone this season and his effort in the Week 11 game was his season's best. We doubt he's going to top it in Week 12 against Miami, either. He can be ignored in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers got the start in Week 9 against the Chiefs with Zach Miller out due to injury. He had a decent game, recording three catches for 20 yards in the 23-20 overtime win. He was targeted for four passes in the game by QB Jason Campbell and averaged 6.7 yards per reception.
Analysis: Myers entered Week 9 with just three catches on the year for 21 yards and nearly matched those numbers with Miller out. Unfortunately for him though, the Raiders will be on a bye next week which should give the starter enough time to heal up. Fantasy owners should continue to ignore Myers in all formats as long as he is a backup.
News: Raiders Backup TE Brandon Myers , who missed last weeks game with a concussion, is practicing Wednesday and said he has been cleared to play against Seattle in Week 8. He said he had actually passed his base-line test Friday but the Raiders kept him out as a precaution.
Analysis: Myers is the backup tight end to Zach Miller and does not get enough touches to warrant any Fantasy value. He only has three catches for 21 yards on the season and can be left on the waiver wire at this point.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers suffered a concussion in Week 6 against the 49ers and is questionable for Week 7 at Denver, coach Tom Cable said. The Raiders have only two tight ends on their roster, Myers and starter Zach Miller.
Analysis: Myers is the backup tight end to Zach Miller and does not get enough touches to warrant any Fantasy value. He only has three catches for 21 yards on the season and can be left on the waiver wire at this point.
News: Oakland TE Brandon Myers made just his third catch of the season in the Week 5 win over San Diego. Myers went for a season-high 12 yards but contributed to the win in a much bigger fashion. Myers blocked the second of two punts in the first quarter and that block was picked up by Hiram Eugene for a defensive touchdown that made the score 12-0 Oakland early.
Analysis: The blocked punt was huge for the Raiders but does nothing in Fantasy play. Since he has just three catches all season for 21 yards, we cannot recommend his Fantasy usage for Week 6 in San Francisco.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers had one reception for 4 yards in Week 3 against the Cardinals. It was his only target of the game.
Analysis: Myers is the backup tight end to Zach Miller and does not get enough touches to warrant any Fantasy value. He can be left on the waiver wire at this point.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers saw minimal action in Week 2 against the Rams. He was targeted once in the 16-14 win but did not record a reception.
Analysis: Myers had one catch for five yards in the season opener but only has five career catches under his belt. He could be good for one or two grabs each week for the Raiders. That does not make him a viable Fantasy tight end, however. Continue to ignore Myers in all formats for Week 3 against the Cardinals.
News: Oakland TE Brandon Myers caught an early pass on Sunday of Week 1 in a loss at Tennessee. Myers' catch went for 5 yards. He did not make another catch the rest of the way after making his grab in the first quarter.
Analysis: Myers now has five career catches under his belt. He could be good for one or two grabs each week for the Raiders. That does not make him a viable Fantasy tight end, however. The Raiders host the Rams in Week 2 and Myers should be left on waivers.
News: Second-year Raiders TE Brandon Myers left practice Wednesday to get X-rays after jamming his finger while trying to catch a pass. He is considered day to day.
Analysis: Myers caught just four passes last season. We don't expect a significant increase in playing time or production out of Myers this season, making him a player to avoid in Fantasy.
News: Raiders RB Gary Russell, WR Todd Watkins, TE Brandon Myers and TE Tony Stewart didn't record offensive statistics Week 17 against the Ravens.
Analysis: None of these players ever contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers caught one pass for 6 yards in Week 15 at Denver. He was targeted once in the game.
Analysis: Myers is not a viable Fantasy option. He is a secondary tight end for one of the worst pass offenses in the NFL. Leave him on waivers in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers had one catch for 6 yards against the Redskins in Week 14. He now has three catches all season.
Analysis: Myers is just a backup tight end and doesn't play a significant enough role on offense to make an impact in Fantasy. Leave him on waivers for Week 15 at Denver.
News: Oakland QB JaMarcus Russell was just the backup and didn't see action in the Week 13 win over the Steelers. Fullback Luke Lawton and TE Brandon Myers also did not stat in the game.
Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved in Week 14 vs. Washington. Even if Russell gets his job back he would have minimal Fantasy value.
News: The Raiders had four players go without an offensive stat Thursday at Dallas in RB Gary Russell, QB JaMarcus Russell, WR Johnnie Lee Higgins and TE Brandon Myers. JaMarcus Russell is now the No. 2 QB in Oakland behind Bruce Gradkowski.
Analysis: Keep all of these players reserved in Week 13 at the Steelers. Even if JaMarcus Russell gets his job back he would have minimal Fantasy value.
News: Oakland QB JaMarcus Russell failed to record a stat Week 11 against the Bengals as Bruce Gradkowski got the start and was relatively successful. Johnnie Lee Higgins, Gary Russell, Brandon Myers and Tony Stewart all failed to record a stat as well.
Analysis: Russell wasn't worth using even when he was the team's starter. He can pretty much be cut in all Fantasy formats at this point. The rest of these players also have little to no Fantasy value.
News:Tony Stewart, Louis Murphy and Brandon Myers were all held without a stat on Sunday in a Week 10 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Murphy is a player with some potential with the Raiders but is not much of a contributor in Fantasy yet. The other two players have little to no Fantasy value.
News: Raiders TE Brandon Myers had two catches for 7 yards Week 8 at San Diego. The catches were the first two of the rookie's career.
Analysis: Myers is a reserve tight end on a team with one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL. Leave him on waivers. The Raiders have a bye in Week 9 before hosting the Chiefs in Week 10.
News: Raiders WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, RB Luke Lawton, TE Brandon Myers and WR Javon Walker all dressed, but failed to record an offensive stat in Week 7 against the Jets.
Analysis: Most of these players are reserves or special teams contributors for the Raiders. They don't record stats on a regular basis or contribute very little. They are unreliable and shouldn't be used in Fantasy. The Raiders play the Chargers in Week 8.
News: Raiders WR Louis Murphy, TE Brandon Myers, WR Javon Walker, QB Charlie Frye and QB Bruce Gradkowski didn't record offensive statistics Week 6 against the Eagles.
Analysis: None of these players ever contributes enough statistically to matter in Fantasy. Leave them all on waivers.
News:Bruce Gradkowski, Johnnie Lee Higgins, Gary Russel, Brandon Myers and Tony Stewart did not record an offensive statistic in Week 5 at the Giants.
Analysis: None of the players on this list have any real Fantasy appeal at this time. Leave them on waivers in all leagues until further notice.
News: The Raiders listed the following players as inactive for Week 4 at Houston: WR Nick Miller, WR Chaz Schilens, QB Charlie Frye, DB Eugene Hiram, TE Brandon Myers and WR Javon Walker.
Analysis: None of the players listed are expected to have much Fantasy appeal any time soon. Leave them on the waiver wire until further notice.
News: The Raiders' list of inactives for Week 3 against the Broncos includes DB Hiram Eugene, WR Javon Walker, TE Brandon Myers, WR Nick Miller, WR Chaz Schilens and QB Charlie Frye.
Analysis: None of these players does enough statistically to matter in Fantasy even when active. Leave them all on waivers.
News: The Raiders inactives for Sunday's game at Kansas City: WR Chaz Schilens, WR Nick Miller, WR Johnnie Lee Higgins, RB Justin Fargas and TE Brandon Myers. The inactive third QB is Charlie Frye.
Analysis: As expected, keep Schilens benched for Week 2 and hope he can return soon from his injured foot. Fargas missed Week 1 at San Diego with a hamstring injury, but he was not on the injury report this week. Still, keep him reserved against the Chiefs, and the same goes for Higgins and Myers.
News: Raiders RB Justin Fargas (hamstring) and starting kick returner Nick Miller (shin splints) are among the Raiders inactive players for tonight's game against San Diego. Fargas absence should mean even more carries for starter Darren McFadden and backup Michael Bush. With Miller out, RB Louis Rankin is expected to return kicks. Raiders rookie TE Brandon Meyers and OG Paul McQuistan are also inactive tonight, along with OT Khalif Barnes, WR Chaz Schilens and WR Javon Walker. Charlie Frye is the No. 3 QB. Gradkowski is the No. 2 QB, backing up JaMarcus Russell. Only two tight ends are active, starter Zach Miller and backup Tony Stewart.
Analysis: This is good news for McFadden's owners as he should see increased touches with Fargas out. Walker was at one point an effective NFL receiver but no longer produces enough in Fantasy to be considered. The rest of these players have little Fantasy value and should not be used in Fantasy play.
News: The Oakland Raiders drafted Brandon Myers to help ease the blocking workload of fellow tight end Zach Miller, but halfway through the preseason it's been the rookie's pass-catching skills that have stood out most. Myers, a sixth-round selection and the last player the Raiders grabbed in this year's NFL draft, has been one of the team's biggest surprises of training camp. He leads the team in receptions (six), receiving yardage (104) and scored his first touchdown in last week's 21-20 loss to San Francisco. His catches and yardage are more than Miller and projected starting wide receivers Javon Walker and Darrius Heyward-Bey have combined this preseason, though to be fair he's played more than the others with the exception of Heyward-Bey, the Raiders' first-round draft pick. "For us, we needed to get a third tight end who could take some of the stuff off of Zach, and I think Brandon has allowed us to do that," Oakland coach Tom Cable said. "Where he's showing up is catching the football more and more. There was kind of an unknown expectation in regards to that. He certainly has proven that he can do those things, and that's just who he is."
Analysis: Myers is leaving nothing to chance. He caught three more passes in practice Wednesday then had to hustle to dinner after spending nearly 90 minutes in the trainer's room getting an IV after cramping up at the end of the workout. Following a quick meal, the rookie from Iowa was off to a round of meetings. His recent performances in practice and in the preseason have made Myers a topic of discussion in Oakland, but the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder shrugs off the hype. "I guess that was just what people pegged me as, the blocker," Myers said. "I caught passes in college so it's not like this is the first time I ever caught balls. I've tried to be more consistent and that's helped me out a lot." Myers put up modest numbers in college -- 56 receptions, 665 yards and nine touchdowns -- but was an All-Big Ten pick as a senior when he was third on Iowa in catches and helped the Hawkeyes reach the Outback Bowl. He might be having a fine preseason, but we still don't know what to expect from Myers when the season kicks off. It's probably best to let him go undrafted in most formats.
News: The Contra Costa Times reports the Raiders reached agreement on a four-year contract with Iowa TE Brandon Myers. Myers, a sixth-round pick, was Oakland's final selection in the NFL Draft in April.
Analysis: Myers will compete for a roster spot but has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day.
