Ryan Succop closes season strong

(1/4/2014) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop had a solid game, along with the rest of the team's offense Saturday, in the Wild Card playoff game against the Colts. Succop connected on three of his field-goal attempts, from 19, 42 and 43 yards out, while adding five extra-points in a 45-44 loss.

Succop matched his season-high in scoring Saturday, a total he reached twice before. He finished the regular season 22 of 28 on field-goal attempts.

(12/29/2013) Kicker Ryan Succop missed a 41-yard field goal Week 17 that would have given the Chiefs an unlikely victory in San Diego. Succop, who missed the kick wide right, earlier converted a 46-yard field goal and three PATs.

He finishes the regular season 22 of 27 on field goals.

(12/27/2013) The Chiefs have designated seven players as probable for their game Sunday against the Chargers, including top linebacker Justin Houston (elbow).

The others are fellow linebacker James-Michael Johnson  (shoulder), offensive linemen Donald Stephenson (knee)l, Eric Fisher (shoulder) and Branden Albert (knee), defensive back Ron Parker (ankle/shoulder) and kicker Ryan Succop (groin).

(12/22/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop made an extra point, missed a 47-yard field goal and otherwise did nothing Sunday as part of a Kansas City 23-7 loss to the Colts at home. 

While it's his fourth game of the season without a field goal (and his second in a row), it's his first where he had just one point. 

The Chiefs will play at the Chargers in Week 17. 


Ryan Succop not asked to much vs. Raiders

(12/15/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop was not asked to do much during Sunday's win over the Raiders in Week 15.

Succop kicked eight extra points but did not have a field goal attempt in a 56-31 victory. He has converted just one field goal over his last three games played.

(12/8/2013) On a snowy day in Washington, Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop was less than perfect, missing a 34-yard field goal in the third quarter. He did hit a 33-yarder in the first quarter, though, and also contributed a season-high six extra points. The nine points were the most he's had in four games.

Succop had to settle for four extra points against Denver. The Chiefs were able to convert all four times they reached the red zone, giving Succop no chance at a field goal attempt. Succop will take on Washington Week 14.

(11/24/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop hit five extra points Week 12 against the Chargers.

The team engaged in a rare shootout, allowing Succop to receive plenty of opportunities to put up points. If anything, the team was too successful in the red zone, giving Succop just one chance at a field goal. Succop hit his only opportunity, hitting a 25 yard field goal. 

He'll take on the Broncos Week 13.

Succop is on a bye in Week 10. The Chiefs play the Broncos in Week 11.

(10/21/2013) Chiefs placekicker Ryan Succop had just one shot at a field goal Sunday against Houston, but it was a big one and he nailed it. Succop drilled a 22-yarder with six minutes remaining to give Kansas City a 17-13 lead. He also made both extra points to help keep his team unbeaten.

(10/13/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop did not attempt his first field goal during the Week 6 home win over Oakland until the final minutes of the game. Succop nailed a 33-yard attempt to ice the game for the Chiefs.

The kicker was 1 for 1 on field goals and 3 for 3 on PATs to finish with six points scored on the game.

Succop had 14 points his last time out and has been in double figures in two of his last four games. The Chiefs play against Houston Week 7.

(10/6/2013) For the second time in three games, Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop contributed four field goals -- this time without a miss -- Week 5 at Tennessee. He hit a 29-yarder in the second quarter, a 24-yarder in the second quarter, a 33-yarder in the fourth quarter and a 48-yarder in the fourth quarter. He also had two extra points. His 14 points equaled a season high.

The Chiefs host the Raiders in Week 6.

(9/29/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop had seven points in a 31-7 win Week 4 vs. N.Y. Giants. Succop made a 51-yard field goal and four extra points.

Succop also converted a 53-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. However, it came off the board following a Giants' penalty, which gave Kansas City a first down. Seven plays later, the Chiefs scored a touchdown.

The Chiefs are back in action Week 5 at Tennessee.

(9/20/2013) Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop had plenty of chances in Week 3 against the Eagles Thursday, as he finished wuith a season-high 14 points in a 26-16 win.

Succop connected on four of five field-goal attempts in the game, with all of his makes coming from between 30 and 39 yards out. He also nailed his two extra-point attempts in the game.

Succop is now 5 for 7 on field-goal tries on the season.
