(9/19/2014) Tight end Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is not the only Browns player listed as questionable for the Sunday game against Baltimore. Second-year linebacker Barkevious Mingo (shoulder) has received the same designation.

All the other Browns on their Friday injury report aside from shelved running back Ben Tate (knee) are probable. They are wide receiver Travis Benjamin (knee), defensive ends Desmond Bryant (wrist) and John Hughes (hamstring), punter Spencer Lanning (shoulder), offensive lineman Paul McQuistan (ankle) and cornerback Buster Skrine (thumb).

Both Paul McQuistan and John Hughes have been ruled out for the contest. Defensive lineman Desmond Bryant has been listed as doubtful. 

The team did list five players as probable. Cornerbacks Pierre Desir, Joe Haden and Buster Skrine should all be good to go. So will safety Jim Leonhard, linebacker Eric Martin and long-snapper Christian Yount

Offensive lineman Paul McQuistan (ankle) also missed practice, while linebacker John Hughes (hamstring) was a limited participant. Both linebacker Eric Martin (concussion) and cornerback Buster Skrine (thumb) participated fully.

Defensive backs Buster Skrine (thumb) and Joe Haden (foot), and wide receiver Nate Burleson (hamstring) headline the list. Also among the inactives are: running back Edwin Baker (hamstring), defensive backs Pierre Desir (knee), Isaiah Trufant (knee), T.J. Heath (hip) and K'Waun Williams (hamstring), linebackers Eric Martin (concussion), Darius Eubanks (shoulder) and Keith Pough (ankle), defensive lineman Desmond Bryant (wrist), tight end Martell Webb (groin) and offensive linemen Michael Bowie (shoulder), Randall Harris (knee) and Nick McDonald (wrist).

(8/20/2014) Browns defensive end Desmond Bryant underwent surgery on his injured wrist, and coach Mike Pettine isn't sure he'll be ready for the season opener, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Bryant had 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 12 games last year.

(8/15/2014) A wrist injury will prevent Browns defensive end Desmond Bryant from playing Monday night in Washington, per the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He will seek a second opinion on the wrist, which did not keep him out of the preseason opener.

Bryant missed the final four games of the 2013 season due to heart surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat. He declared himself healthy in late April.

Defensive end Billy Winn (quad) hasn't played since Week 3, but is listed as questionable, as is linebacker Quentin Groves (ankle).

The others are probable. They include defensive end Desmond Bryant (thumb), running backs Willis McGahee (ankle) and Chris Ogbonnaya (ribs), cornerback Chris Owens (finger) and linebacker Jabaal Sheard (wrist).

Outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard, who missed the last two games with a knee injury, has been upgraded to questionable with reports leaning toward him playing against the Lions. And fellow linebacker Quentin Groves (ankle) could also return after missing the last three games.

Meanwhile, defensive end Desmond Bryant, who left the Week 5 win over Buffalo with shortness of breath, has been deemed probable. Backup lineman Billy Winn (quad) has been ruled out.

(10/3/2013) Browns defensive lineman Desmond Bryant was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Bills in the second half, due to shortness of breath. He was taken to the nearby Cleveland Clinic by ambulance, and was unable to return.

The team announced the trip to the hospital as a precautionary move, but the extent and nature of the issue is not yet known.

On the defensive side, linebacker Quentin Groves (ankle) is out; defensive end Ahtyba Rubin(calf) is questionable and was limited in practice; and strong safety T.J. Ward (shoulder) and defensive end Desmond Bryant (wrist) both participated fully in practice and are probable.

(9/16/2013) Browns cornerback Buster Skrine led the defense with a team-high nine tackles (seven solo) Week 2 at Baltimore. He was part of a defensive effort that shut out Baltimore in the first half, but the Ravens still emerged with a 14-6 win.

Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson had eight tackles (four solo), as did free safety Tashaun Gipson (four solo) and defensive lineman Jabaal Sheard (three solo). Sheard had 1/2 sack, as did defensive lineman Desmond Bryant, who finished with five tackles (one solo).

Browns safety T.J. Ward finished with four tackles (two solo) and cornerback Joe Haden, who spent most of the afternoon shadowing Ravens receiver Torrey Smity, had three solo tackles and one pass defense.


Desmond Bryant makes sterling Browns debut in defeat

(9/8/2013) The best defensive player on the field for the Browns on Sunday was one of their newest. Defensive end Desmond Bryant, who was signed as a free agent, wreaked havoc in the Miami backfield with two of the team's three sacks, though they went for naught in the 23-10 loss.

Bryant also helped stuff the run as the Browns held the Dolphins to a mere 20 yards rushing in 23 attempts. He finished with three tackles and a team-high four quarterback hits.

He will get a shot at sacking Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco next Sunday in Baltimore.

(9/8/2013) The banged-up front three for the Browns will at least have defensive end Desmond Bryant active Sunday in the season opener. The offeseason acquisition will play after being listed as probable with a back injury.

Bryant will be counted on to help prevent Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill from escaping the pocket.
