Rams waive five guys


(5/1/2012) The Rams waived tight end Demarco Cosby, defensive tackle John Henderson, cornerbacks Nate Ness and Chris Smith and running back Quinn Porter.

Ness re-signs with Rams


(12/14/2011) The Rams have placed RB Brit Miller (knee) on injured reserve, a move coach Steve Spagnuolo alluded to on Tuesday. To fill Miller’s roster spot, the team re-signed DB Nate Ness, who was released on Dec. 6.

(12/6/2011) The Rams waived DB Nate Ness on Tuesday and added QB Matt Gutierrez to the practice squad. Ness did not play in last week's loss to the 49ers due to an ankle injury.

Dolphins make moves Tuesday


(11/24/2009) Linebacker Matt Roth was released Tuesday by the Miami Dolphins, a move that came a week after coach Tony Sparano lauded his work off the bench. The Dolphins also signed cornerback Evan Oglesby and defensive end Ikeaika Alama-Francis. Defensive tackle Jason Ferguson was placed on injured reserve with a season-ending leg injury, and safety Nate Ness was released. Ferguson was injured in last week's win over Carolina.

(11/19/2009) Miami TE Anthony Fasano, DL Erik Walden, DL Lionel Dotson, DL Paul Soliai, DB Nate Ness and QB Tyler Thigpen have all been listed as inactive for the team's Week 11 game against the Panthers.

Jets waive four players


(8/30/2009) The Jets have waived linebacker Craig Kobel, safety Nate Ness, quarterback Chris Pizzotti and wide receiver Huey Whittaker. Kobel played in the Arena Football League last year. Ness was an undrafted free agent who had 107 tackles and seven interceptions in two seasons as a starter at Arizona. Pizzotti was an undrafted free agent who was a two-time All-Ivy League quarterback at Harvard. Whittaker spent parts of the last three seasons in the AFL.
